The Soviet Union would have collapsed and ceased to exist without the massive infusion of supplies from Lend-Lease. This is the single biggest overlooked fact about WW2.

Bear in mind that on D Day, far more British and Commonwealth troops landed than American. The americans on Omaha just strayed into a heavily defended sector due to heavy tides and bad luck. The americans werent even considered much of a threat in the days after the Normandy landings, as the bulk of the german panzer forces were sent against the brits aiming for Caen and later Operation Goodwood. The americans just had to face the cut off german division or so defending Cherbourg.

Many of the people working in the factories that turned out Russia's domestic weapons did so wearing English and American boots and living in houses heated with American heating oil, while English engines ran their aircraft on American avgas.
The world worked together to beat the shit out of the Nazis. Without help the USSR would have had a very, very hard time of it.

The US was the only country in WW2 to have 4 million soldiers in both Europe/Mediterranean and 3.7 million more in the Pacific and did the bulk of the allies war machine manufacturing. Almost all factories in the country were converted to fit military or logistic production quotas when the US economy went into war mode.
Well over 50k tanks in 4 years, 100k military aircraft every single year from 1942-1945 (total of over 100k fighters, 100k bombers, and 120k transport aircraft in 3 years), manufactured 35k landing crafts, over 1,200 naval ships larger than Frigates (including 200 submarines) in 4 years, mined and processed more tonnes of every war resource than every other allied nation combined in the same times period except for coal (which the other allies combined mined slightly more), bailed out the UK and the USSR with war time and post war loans and huge amounts of military equipment (the UK finally paid back its loan in 2006), had 3 nuclear weapons by mid-late 1945 (had 9 more nukes ready by mid 1946), the only piece of military hardware that any other nation in WW2 made more of than the US during the war was artillery production in the USSR which slightly outpaced US artillery production because the Soviets needed it more.
