No.

J.H. Fitzgerald was a major proponent of the .44 Special.

Given that he supposedly once pulled a pair on two secret service agents to show them how unprepared they were, I'd vote yes.

"big iron" isnt a measure of how cool you think the gun is you absolute retard.

I'll take this answer

Just looked him up. I'm glad I did. Seems really interesting

REEE

No he didn't that was a script error.

okay after looking it up he pretty much says he uses the specials for the police shooting competitions

Yes

>this

45-70 is the only answer

Could the Arizona Ranger have cleared leather like lightning with a 45-70 big iron?

I can go from a neutral stance to firing with a .454 in a shoulder holster in less than 2 seconds and I've been shooting sparingly for 6 months. No doubt that somebody who's well-trained and practices frequently could draw and fire from a belt holster in less than a second even with a huge boi.

Considering they're less powerful than 9mm loads, no.

big iron refers to the length of a revolver not the bullet

.44 Special is comparable to .45ACP, so no, it's kind of just an average iron.

And I'm a proponent of 9mm Luger, but it doesn't make for a big iron.

I think he could. Mind you could also have like a 5" or 6" barrel on a .45-70 revolver (with the gargantuan fireball that involves).

No, but I does make you a bitch.

Is .454 ball?

The original Big Iron was a SAA clone in .45 Colt, so yeah that works.

No.
It refers to one epecific gun. The big iron.
Which was a colt revolver frame with a marlin barrel.

I carry one sometimes. The round itself is fine, but it’s pretty scarce and expensive compared to .44 mag

I'm also a proponent of .44 Magnum for carry.
I just think you oughta either pick capacity/lighter weight, or if you want something bigger than 9mm, go big or go home, since .44 Magnum is substantially more powerful (and really not that hard to shoot).
.40 S&W, .45ACP, and 10mm Auto, they're all half-measures to me.

.44 Magnum is overkill for man sized targets. .44 special is in the sweet spot, intact .44 magnum originated from the hottest .44 spl handloads.

10mm is this years biggest meme tho.

>Is 44 Special enough to be considered Big Iron
Don't forget that the best song on the album features Mr. Shorty with his short barreled bad 44, and this was before 44 magnum. He can fuck you up before you can pull your gay BFR

There are two classes of CCW imo: pocket and belt. If you're gonna belt carry you can't beat a 9mm with a 12+ round capacity. Carry what you want and yeah a 5-6 shot 44 is still a gun but it's not optimal and you're larping so admit it.

10mm isn’t a reliable grizzly bear round. It is inferior to every revolver round above .357

But you get 2-3 times the number of chances to make the magic happen....

So? Why use an anemic round? I could put 180 .22 into a grizzly. I’d still rather use an adequate round.

10mm is not anemic just borderline with some loadings. 15 rounds of the heavier penetrating loadings is plenty of dakka for grizz.

Don’t bother with 10mm fags. They fell for memes

>2 seconds
Never gonna make it

>Auto loading 33+ capacity super hot .357 mag with the capability of full auto
>Lol it's just a meme

why would someone get a tattoo on their ass?

The same reason anyone gets a tattoo anywhere...poor life decisions...

White girls on anti anxiety medications that "just need a change"

It's usually either college guys or soldiers getting groups ones as a dare/drunken decision/etc... or slutty girls.

Slutty black women usually get it across both cheeks and white girls usually go for a smaller one-spot.

t. Got one inna-college one inna-army and fucked a number of really questionable afro-american women with tats across cheeks

A double action can never be a big iron. Just buy the AR15a4.

Patricians who can afford big irons don't work the fields with the people who buy Charter Arms Bulldogs bro.

Are you intimidated by his big boy caliber that you had to resort to this meme? Tasty 9mm cope.

>He doesn't wear gloves
Your girlfriend won't be thanking you for making her get all calloused.

All I said was that .44 Magnum is overkill for self defense against people. A half decent handload .44 special would deliver more than enough while having less recoil and a slightly smaller package. Now if we are talking about bears it’s a different story.

This. Although I have actually seen more .22LR throwaway revolvers and .380 Taurus' among the Mexis that I work with. One of them even has a sawed off 12 gauge and a .38 super 1911. I think it's literally in their DNA.

.45-70 from a revolver makes no sense. It's just big, loud, impractical and expensive. Probably half the velocity you would get from a rifle.

Attached: Worth It.jpg (500x375, 37K)

I've seen old man Hickok shoot that, so did the guy in that picture with the injured wrist have really poor technique or what?

That's a repetitive motion injury from hot gluing his big iron with his big iron.

45-70 has such a wide variety of various loadings and super easy to handload. You are putting more energy on target than 500S&W with cheaper ammo.

People love them for hunting

Pretty nice gun, can you post more pics of it?

>.44 Special is comparable to .45ACP, so no, it's kind of just an average iron.
That's rather false. A cowboy loads of lightly loaded .44 from a short barrel is comparable to a +p 45acp from a longer barrel somewhat in terms of weight and speed if you want to compare wad cutters and FMJ's. If you get into hollow points .45's are probably better due to starting out larger in diameter but .44's are a longer over all length so could depending on the bullet design maybe be comparable even though they're both lighter than most regular loads. They can be really similar in some circumstances but they're pretty far apart.

Do niggers have big dicks?

That's a pretty big iron

Have any where we can see your penis?

>The Ranger's "Big Iron" was a one-off custom handgun chambered in .45 Colt and featured a Great Western copy of the Colt Single Action Army frame, Colt 1860 Army backstrap, grip frame and grips, and a cut down 9 1/2" Marlin rifle barrel. Marty Robbins saw it in Andy Anderson's famed North Hollywood gun shop in the late 1950s and wrote the song around it. Its current whereabouts are unknown.[5]

Attached: rutger2.jpg (842x417, 31K)

No that’s bullshit

You are pimping out your wife

Funny how much of that is wrong.
When Andy made it it was a Great Western frame, 44 special cylinder, and a 12" Winchester 1892 barrel.
Walt Ivie replaced the cylinder to make it .44 magnum before replacing the frame with a Colt and the backstrap with the 1860 army one. He cut the barrel to 9 5/8" to cut down his draw time.

That's a man though.

>only owns rifles in .22 LR and .50 BMG

No no no, Marty's "Big Iron" does not refer to Andy's "Big Iron" as they are two separate guns.
