It was good day. Weather scared off most the crowd so we had the place almost entirely to ourselves. Also we found an intact container of tannerite that someone didn't hit and couldn't be bothered to retrieve from downrange, so that was cool.

I live in Texas, so there's no public land. This place is the good mix between close to home and cheap. The targets are also steel, which is more fun to shoot than paper. Handgun range doesn't have the 1 round per sec rule, and I spend more time there than anything, really.

We ended up buying .38 special but it was FMJ and I got like 3 squibs, and my. Ousin bought me a box of .45s which fed with no issue.

He did pretty well too for not having shot since being in boy scouts a long time ago. Its always fun teaching new people because they're always so excited and gentle with everything. I've been itching to go again recently because my dot isn't quite sighted for 25 yet.

don't have any pics, but it was over a week ago and i brought my sks because i put a scout scope on it and needed to dial it in some. only went to about 50 yards because fuck walking 400 yards through a 18 inches of snow to set up and retrieve my target

i bought the 3m gels and then i bought the noisefighter gels. the latter is what you might be talking about. i thought the cutouts would be awesome, imo they arent. the issue is the cutouts are kind of high on the ear piece. get get it to fit like its supposed to, the cups themselves have to sit really low on your head. like the tops of the ear piece will be touching the top of your ears. it just wasnt comfortable for me. i moved them higher up where i normally wear them and the cut out was useless.
everyones head is different though, so you might not have the same issues as me. they are popular so im sure theyre doing something right, they just didnt work as i hoped.
anyway, im very happy with the regular 3m gels

Had to re-zero the Aimpoint CompM3 which I moved back to the carbine.
Groups were a bit bigger than what I'm used to. Might need to properly scrub the barrel instead of pulling snakes through.
