What's the first Jow Forums game that you've played?
Mine's gotta be counter-strike, lots of hours spent and kebabs removed.
Jow Forums vidya thread
Enough with this retarded shit.
>”Shut up, clock in and load up”
Mgs1. I was 7 and had no friends, so a game that just exposition dumped all the time was great. I could listen to people talk about guns and stuff like they actually wanted to talk to me, it was great.
Pretty sure it was this
Goldeneye 007
First game I really got into was Halo CE
Come at me
That's a good question. Probably Half-Life when it came out. Followed by, honestly, SOCOM years later.
I take that back. Rainbow Six 1 was definitely a part of my childhood. And not that super faggy PSX shit like that actual faggot above me.
This. I played the demo before it ever released and am stoked to high hell for MCC PC.
I also played FarCry and got my older cousin to fight the monkeys.
you strike me as the type of person that played soldat
This, but on PC because I'm not a fucking peasant.
Had No idea what that is but it looks heckin cool.
I used to play a lot of rise of nations, AOE3, in real tournament sidescroller and such
Depending on what you'd qualify as a Jow Forums game, either Metal Gear Solid on the PS1 or Delta Force 2.
This or Syphon Filter for me.
> Counter Strike
Can't even use irons. How is that in any way k?
This with the light gun, also Contra, Captain Skyhawk, and another shooting game where you move the cursor over the screen but your character stays in place behind cover and you shoot bad guys who run towards him, cant remember the name.
SNES, shooting Raptors in 1st person mode in Jurrasic Park scared the shit out of me
1943: The Battle of Midway. Followed shortly after by Contra.
I think it was IL-2 or Janes flight sim. IL-2 really holds up.
Are you using sims as a baseline, or are you like that young?
Those are the first ones I actually remember the names of, that and IL-2 is pretty damn old.
Fair enough I guess, I was a beta tester for Pacific Fighters when I was a teenager, doesn't feel that old to me
Doom shared episode when I was 5 back in 1999. Still got that beat to shit floppy around here somewhere.
same, fucking based
>that meaty garand sound
pa-ting!
how do you turn this on
Original half-life and then the Counter-strike alpha when I was 11. I played on 56k before our area finally got DSL.
>night vision battries run out
I played mgs1 rainbow six goldeneye and all those other games, too.
Yeah that’s true that has to be my first Jow Forums game.
Half-life 1
Tomb raider or goldeneye, unless twisted metal counts.
Contra
First medal of honors and cods
same, remember won and change to steam.
My steam account is 4 digit so i was a fairly early adopter. While i'm not much of a gamer, i do still play CSGO with old friends tho.
>MOH
>COD
That's Dust2 from CS:GO.
>[486 onboard sounds intensify]
Probably Castle Wolfenstein on my Apple 2e.
River Raid.
Actually Doom and Quake were probably my first forray into Jow Forums
Depends on what qualifies as a Jow Forums game. My first fascination with combat and history came from Age of Empires 1.
Don't remember which was the first, but it was either GTA San Andreas or Gothic.
Anyone remember games like Hexen?
Jow Forums is about weapons and military, so probably everything that includes combat from swords, through guns all the way put to strategies
Your papers are in order
Rainbow Six: Lockdown on NGC
>still have the theme on my workout playlists
>youtube.com
RUSH B CYKA BLYAT
I'm not a huge fan of (current) VR, but I think this is gonna be fun:
store.steampowered.com
The classic
This or Rogue Spear.
Either wolfenstein 3D or the first Doom
I didn’t play doom quake or Hexen but I played unreal tournament.
Plane broke
> a game that just exposition dumped all the time was great. I could listen to people talk about guns and stuff like they actually wanted to talk to me, it was great.
i played it in the ps3 era while being too poor to play new games at the time. So i never played that much video games at the time but its because that it was easier for me to get immersed into it, (despite being considered widely oudated).
The overall experience just felt great, you'd just have to lower your expectations and not expect anything remotely like technology today. I would definitely agree that this is a well made game with a shitload of details, good presentation, immersion, and gameplay
I was born the year this came out but my older brothers let me play it all the time on our PC back in like 2003. Then I would watch them play X-Com
>bootleg patrick swayze vs a random east european military
Rainbow six lockdown on gamecube when I was 4, I first pc gamed at 13
lol...how the hell do you noclip hack?
That was an exp server where you got powers and skills as you leveled up.
the first TRULY Jow Forums game I've played has gotta be arma 2
do it proper moron
rollthedice mod
Wasn’t the cheat code “hotrod”?
This was my first FPS
Already?
STRAVAGS NEED NOT APPLY
Holy shit my sides
Who’s got the arma recreation? I can’t remembber what it’s called
Does does vice city count?
My man
S T E P A S I D E , C L A N N E R
These, plus the first three Resident Evil games. I think 2 in particular really stoked my interest in guns. And I remember wanting a SIG Pro for years because that was what the Russian mercenaries in 3 were packing.
I think I might actually make it home from this lousy war
These two.
CS only came into my life post 2003, when my family got the first proper PC and internet connection.
Played the living shit out of this throughout childhood.
Came here to post this. My nigger
first Jow Forums game I played was Doom 3 know it shit but better than sonic and Mario winter games
the very first one I can remember is Jane's IAF, my grandpa was in the air force as a young lad and for some reason he had a joystick and some games for his PC even though all he ever does nowadays is play solitaire.
same, still have that one somewhere
>dust2 is now generic gray urban level
it hurts
>Duckt Hunt
Pretty much this, or Wild Gunman. Also gun light games like Time Crisis and House of the Dead since my bro would take me to the arcades.
Mein Neger.
>that feel when yuge fan of OG Dook but you weren't allowed to buy 3D because of the strippers
Fuck I miss that game.
It was revolutionary for it's time. Using Irons was a 50/50 back then.
Counter-Strike is peak FPS
i.4cdn.org
TYRIAN
Holy shit that was a horrible game.
first actual tactical Jow Forums game
>og delta force on pc
Quake II had a weird 5 minute section set outdoors. If you ran it with the SMG or hyperblaster, it almost felt like a tactical shooter for those five minutes.
Hexen was fucking sweet. Basically Doom but you got to shoot magic at people
>that pic
My nostalgia erection just burst through my pants
microsoft combat flight simulator?
