Mabye. SMGs are mostly irrelevant in military combat though.

This is true but what about law enforcement or counter-terrorism?

they do have a niche role in close combat against unarmored opponents, especially when things like noise or muzzle report are a concern

>tfw about to SBR an original Israeli semi Uzi

Thanks to ATF's once-a-machinegun,-always-a-machinegun stance, all SMGs are unsurplusable.

Still irrelevant because pistol calibers still suck at killing people and punching armor compared to rifle calibers.

>not an SMG
>still can't punch plates even with the restricted true-AP ammo
>still pistol-tier wounding

I can think of perhaps three instances, EVER where the perpetrators were wearing kevlar at the time that the SWAT, SERT or counterterrorist team kicked down a door. Even then. getting shot in the chest with 9mm wearing a kevlar vest will still break ribs and put you out of commission.

Yes. Roller delayed blowback provides god tier recoil impulse with pistol calibers.

>>not an SMG
You're joking, right?

hah. I know the gun smith that made this as a joke
He's awesome.

If people cared about noise and muzzle flash 5.56 wouldn't be a thing

Those things are irrelevant

>what is a PDW

>lighter
>higher capacity
>5.7x28 is vastly superior to 9mm
>top loading
The difference is vast.

Yes

wtf is that? an smg for ants?

A SMG.

A Personal Defense Weapon, which in practice is either a handgun or an SMG.

Its really a shame how few non direct blowback SMGs/PCCs are being produced. Really looking forward to the stribog A3, GP does interesting designs in general, although not always the most reliable ones.
>shit caliber that doesn't cause any rifle like wounding effects
>noisy as fuck with super sonic, literally .22lr performance with subs
>expensive meme ammo that's compatible with one rare handgun on the market
None of the advantages of a subgun with none of the advantages of an SBR. Only legitimate uses are against enemies who wear armor, but only non special threat soft armor, and sentry removal. Oh, and fyi SMGs do the former perfectly fine with proper ammo selection.
It isn't, newfag.
