Air Force Museum Visit

Hi friends! I went to Wright Patt recently and I figured I would share a few photos that didn't turn out like crap.

no, ICBMs did

You get any lewd shots?

B-70 propulsion tool. Limited Edition 1 of 30

Funny you should mention the 104, even the gate guard to the museum looks like it is mid crash.

Attached: IMG_20190311_145104.jpg (4608x3456, 2M)

Not really fren. Most of the birds now are behind partitioned off little fences so you can't really get up and close to about 90% of them. Which I get, you don't want somebody scratching 'I LUV JESS' or something into a one off craft.

I didn't realize it when I took this, but the Apollo 15 capsule is in the photo.

Air Force Harrier for reasons.

if not for lockheeb shills US would've had plane much better than f-22
it hurts so much bros

Sorry I don't have more from the experimental hanger, quite a few of the photos were just heavily blurred. Here is a Hustlers ass though.

Attached: IMG_20190311_114551.jpg (4608x3456, 3.22M)

Six turning, Four burning.

It was more stealthy, that was about it. Otherwise the F-22 is better in almost every other aspect.

Stale meme, or commie shitposting?

Also 4u

No idea why it's in US colours but that's a British Hawker Kestrel not a harrier.

Apart from the B-70 and like one or two others. My favorite birb.

Because the USAF tested them Fren.

Attached: IMG_20190311_114643.jpg (4608x3456, 3.18M)

Didn't realize this when I was lining up the shot in the previous photo there was a U-2 up there.

More B-47 posting though.

I think this is the tail gunner position on the B-36, hard to tell from the order of my photos.

The UK, UK and Germany tested them in the same plain livery. That aircaft (XS688) has been repainted in US colours after the conclusion of testing.

Is she still pretty with no skin?

Attached: IMG_20190311_115414.jpg (4608x3456, 3.63M)

forgot pic, this is what it used to look like - it's the same aircaft - XS688 - which became 418262

Interesting, thanks for the info,

Very good stuff OP. I've been to a lot of aviation museums in the south, but haven't had the chance to go up to Ohio yet.
If you're ever in the Fl. panhandle czech out the Naval Aviation museum it's pretty damn cool.
Have a shitty pic of 1 of 2 YF17s ever made

fuck my life. 3rd time lucky

The old silver, white, and blue liveries are great.

Attached: IMG_20190311_115359.jpg (4608x3456, 3.48M)

This may come as a bit of a shock, but museums do that quite often.

I love the F-17. Thanks!

Attached: IMG_20190311_115448.jpg (4608x3456, 2.81M)

Not a B-29, B-29 coming though. Again I love that livery.

Attached: IMG_20190311_115500.jpg (4608x3456, 2.96M)

There are a few whirly birbs here also.

the US would have a functional airforce if not for lockheeb. now even the russians are laughing at us.

Attached: IMG_20190311_120611.jpg (4608x3456, 3.79M)

Sadly the WWII hangar was packed, that was the best I got. The photos I have from it are the ones I was lucky to get. I'll post more of them when I get to that hangar.

Ah man I love Wright Patt, I live in Cincinnati and have gone hundreds of times
just visited last summer, when did you go OP?

Attached: IMG_20190311_120736.jpg (4608x3456, 2.95M)

I think it was literally a week ago. I am from the 330 so I don't get over there too much. I might try and convince my dad to go this summer and we'll catch a Reds game or two while we are down there.

Also I love the solution to not having accurate AA missles; make them nuclear!

Attached: IMG_20190311_120753.jpg (4608x3456, 3.38M)

Getting a decent shot of the """"B-2"""" proved annoying, so here is the landing gear cover.

Attached: IMG_20190311_120941.jpg (4608x3456, 2.36M)

Ass of a Blackbirb.

Good on you user, I have most of the same photos!

french fries/freedom fries it became a meme during the 9/11 thing

oh ok, but does it stands for anything?
also that
>AF 76 027
is this name of a unit or something?

defensechronicle.com/air-force-tail-codes/

I work 5 min from there, took my brother there about a week ago. Love the new hanger.

The FF is the two letter code for the Air Base, in that case Patrick AFB in Florida. The two little numbers are the year the aircraft was ordered (1978) and the big three are the last three digits of that aircrafts serial number.

Attached: IMG_20190311_122835.jpg (4608x3456, 2.81M)

Wait, fuck. FF is Langley.

I really like how Americans take care of machines in muesums
you have nice ventilated hangars etc.
here in eastern europe museum is just scrap yard that you can pay to visit

Thanks Fren, Wright Patt has one also.

Attached: IMG_20190311_133802.jpg (4608x3456, 2.72M)

Wright Patterson is also free.

Attached: IMG_20190311_123434.jpg (4608x3456, 3.32M)

Attached: IMG_20190311_123556.jpg (4608x3456, 2.82M)

>is also free
h-how

Its really how much of a shame it is that the USAF tries and breaks the thought of them being "just bomb taxi's" when they have always been great at it.

Attached: IMG_20190311_123640.jpg (4608x3456, 2.77M)

Donations from companies like Boeing, Locheed Martin, etc. I don't think they receive a cent of government funding.

Attached: IMG_20190311_123726.jpg (4608x3456, 3.34M)

I think it has something to do with donations they get each year, lots of the guides and other persons working there are volunteers. Food is expensive as fuck at the food court and was getto mall food court tier.

NATO manned aerial target practice since 1970.

Attached: IMG_20190311_123741.jpg (4608x3456, 2.71M)

>stencil of US
>without Alaska
every teim

We (the american public) already paid for everything there. I'd be kinda fucked up if we had to pay again to see this stuff.
Also, can confirm, it is free. Most places in the US like this are.
Udvar Hazi museum is $5 for parking, no admission fee.

>Food is expensive as fuck at the food court and was getto mall food court tier.
Its literally no different than on base food offerings for military personnel.

Attached: IMG_20190311_123817.jpg (4608x3456, 3M)

>NATO manned aerial target practice since 1970.
I keked

Wright Patt is free admission, and free parking. You don't pay a cent to see the aircraft.

Attached: IMG_20190311_123857.jpg (4608x3456, 2.85M)

it was shit tier, I didn't eve look to see if AAFES runs the food court in the museum

mig-23 was shit?

Thanks for posting. I've not been there since the early 90's.

Yes.
