Anyone know what’s this flaps purpose is? I’ve heard it’s for antennas or a battery pack but it doesn’t open all the way and can’t really fit anything in it.

It’s for the NVG bracket
Some gizmo that was going to be part of Land Warrior ensemble

Ewww
Most likely this
I've always used it to hold goggles in place.
Thats what the bunny ears are for though
I used mine to cover the cat eyes (glow in the dark things on the band)
shieeet, that's supposed to go on the back of the helmet? I always thought that flap was supposed to face forward so you can hook up a rhino NVG mount to the helmet.
It's a good thing I never had to actually wear my helmet, otherwise I would've looked like a freakin retard...
t. Air Force
UCP is the sole reason that the US has lost the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Change my mind.
It's for the battery pack on pvs20s.

Fuck Krauts and their overpriced rifles and grenade launchers
The rhino mount goes over the helmet cover otherwise it would interfere with the swing arm when you have to tuck it back. Also not sure it would actually line up worth a shit.
1. Bunny ears
2. >trusting 2"x 1/4" lowest-bidder velcro to hold a tensioned strap
I mean fuck I had to change out my bunny ears every couple months because the SNAPS would stop reliably holding my goggles, dunno how you got away with that piddly little strip of velcro holding them.
They're ears so you can pretend to be a kitsune or bunny, depending on how you unfold them.
The reason is the COIN approach, commonly referred to as "hearts and minds" combined with an overly strict ROE.
Been there done that got the T-Shirt and it sucks.
Condom pocket
rhinos screw through the helmet cover, the flap isnt for nods
The bunny ears are chin retention straps for airborne operations.
Jesus, private. First off it's PSQ-20. Secondly, they have their own helmet cover in the BII that covers the battery pack. That flap on standard issue covers is nowhere near big enough.
