Recommendations for good AR-15mag couplers? I'm using Hexmags if that matters.

What round out of the following would all of you choose?

I want to build a new rifle and can't decide on a round to base it around. My only real concern is ammo availability off shelf and cross compatibility of magazines if possible.
Use: range targets 100-600y/m maybe hunting.

At 600 meters, grundle is going to be your most efficient bang for buck. Brass is cheap, projectiles are cheap. Will be more than .223, less than .308. If you need more punch and you're worried about scarcity, just go with .308.

Variable or RDS+magnifier?
I'm a poorfag so I'm between a Vortex 1-4x or a Holosun+magnifier. First AR build and I want it to be a work horse. Plinking, 2 gun, home defence, and maybe pest control like coyotes etc. Live on the plains rn so lots of open spaces but I plan on moving to a more forested area where neither a variable nor magnifier would likely be necessary.

For my first AR I want a setup like pic related. I can’t really have/afford/find a clone HK416. So here.

What should I get?

I’m working on a BCM AR Build that is going to be my duty rifle riding around in my vehicle with me everyday. I need optic recommendations, one user suggested an Aimpoint PRO and after looking im heavily leaning in that direction. Is there a better option around that same price point? My department isn’t giving any funding so this will be out of my own pocket.

Roll with Aimpoint. Put it on a QD mount with fold down back up sights. In the off chance that your optic could fog when you need it the most(hi murphy).
Zero at 100yards.(Has the least holdovers/unders than any other zero)
