Any revolver made from the 1830s to the 1910s with a period-appropriate version of a bowie knife.

S&W M1917 with M1905 bayonet.

I don't know if 'regularly' is accurate.

Repro or did you shell out for an original?

It's a reproduction. I wouldn't be willing to stab watermelons with an original.

I've only seen one original in about eleven years of looking - and it was of questionable authenticity. It went for $1200 either way. There are so few known-genuine examples floating around it's really easy to get taken on a well-made and aged reproduction.

Honestly I'm mostly surprised it wasn't a concept more people tried. You'd think those old Colt 1860s or even SAAs would have had some bayonet attachments attempted.

what is this, a finger pinching machine?

What pairs best with this? A S&W Victory Model maybe?

Anybody got more photos of SAAs with bowies?

They did

no, thats a vietnam era knife, put it next to a 1911a1 from the period

It's chair force too. Needs to pair with a lightweight .38 aircrewman style pistol.

The USAF survival knife was adopted in 1958. S&W Victory Models (Model 10s) were still issued to some aircrew, though 1911s probably were more common. Those lightweight Model 10s are cool too though.

I would assume one cocks the trigger and rotates the cylinder while the other gives loose to the gods of freedom. I would assume you could get better accuracy on quick shots this way. No idea whats wrong with the smaller one...

I have a SZCO bowie I bought from Amazon for under $20. hit quality, but it works for now until I can find a better one. Looking for one that looks like this one, specifically.
