Why is the AR commonly listed as an “essential” survival weapon?

I think that an Ar-15 would not be a good idea, but rather an ak or a g3 would be superior because they do not require as much maintenance. If we were truly in a survival scenario rifle maintenace would be a big hassle unless you’re already stocked up big time on cleaning supplies.

Go away no guns

It's because of economy of scale you retard, begone

You probably believe revolvers never jam.

You can clean a rifle with a rag and vegetable oil tard.

Many replacement parts available

Common round

Modular

However it depends of your country. Here in Switzerland it would a better option to go with SG550 because they are everywhere and parts can be easily found.

But in a real STHF scenario it would maybe be a better idea to go with a bolt action rifle. Less critical parts and in survival scenario you would want to be discret and not engage in massive firefights like in the walkings fags.

But if i could i would literally buy M2 brownings, claymores, flamethrowers and grenades. Found one of the many bunkers we have here, invite 10 or 15 friends and build an impregnable fortress

And/or buy lub and conquer an isolated village and use women as personnal harem

AR-15 and AR-10 variants are truly generic and have been sold under more than 120 brand names. The number of ARs (AR-15s, M4s, AR-10s, and variants) sold from 2000 to 2014 was approximately 5,672,900. Since then, AR-15 clones have become even more popular and ubiquitous with approximately 1.2 million more produced in 2015, 1.6 million in 2016, and 1.5 million in 2017. At least 1.2 million will be produced in 2018. It can be assumed that 99% of the ARs produced since the year 2000 are still functional. There were more than 2.3 million other ARs produced for the civilian market between 1962 and 1999. It is safe to assume that at least 95% of those of that vintage are still functional. So the total number of functional ARs in private hands in the U.S. is somewhere around 11 to 12 million. (As of May, 2018.)

Wrong. A g3 or ptr91 gets incredibly dirty.

Be sure to hoard oil if you get an M2

Guess how much more common AR-15 parts are in the wild? If your precious internet goes out, most people are going to have a much harder time fixing equipment.

>harder time fixing equipment
with an AK, I mean.

I would have oil for masturbating and fucking anyway

Sex lube burns off too fast.

>not using cum substitute

>he doesn’t use gun oil as lub

>maintenance
What do you need to do to an AR15 to maintain it that you dont need to do to a G3 or AK pattern rifle?

>reciever fouling

When eated cum become sticky. It would jamme the guns. He it would better to impliment mandatory cum donation in your group/militia and use it as psycological weapon or for waterboarding people for intel

of semi-automatics it is a simple strait forward design. you can make most replacement parts in the field and or modify it cheaply. the only thing you cannot field repair is the bolt and barrel. however those are relatively cheap to replace.

>broken stock: wood replacement
>broken lower: build it from plywood.
>no mag: single shot
>broken hammer: wood replacement
>broken spring: wrap a wire
>buffer detente: didn't need it.
>take down pins:use a wooden peg and pins.
>gas tube: plug the hole and make it a strait pull.
>fire grip:some wood and a few pieces of cloth.

>need gun lube:use cooking oil
>need cleaner: water or make reds'
>trigger:screw

the .223 round is a relatively cheap available round that has enough power that you won't struggle to kill a deer.

just make the whole gun out of wood faggort

are you on mescaline

Mother fucker, stop. Just stop. You don’t manufacture parts out of nothing with zero experience or proper tooling. Such as the the inside area of the carrier that gets reamed to work properly with gas rings.

you can except the bolt, barrel, springs, and gas-tube.

isn't meant to last just get you home.

ARs are incredibly simple to maintain you noguns bitch

I considered the bolt and carrier one piece. I haven't hear of a carrier ever critically failing. I have head of the gas key blowing out.

and no I will make all the wooden parts!!!

Just stop. You don’t understand the relationship between your gas rings and carrier.

Op is right about AKs for long term survival and the people crying no guns are dumb as shit. What a surprise. More know it all cucks.
