Navy has 11 armed vessels, most stationed in Malabo which also has the largest airport. Once you take Malabo (or even just make it look like you did on social media) every ethnic group will start taking shots at their target of choice. You want to formally recognize two groups and make them think you're on their side: the Fang and the people on the Islands.
Once you control the oil and the money the government will collapse into infighting as different factions form based on who they think is less likely to execute them in football stadiums.
