I actually use my plate carrier regularly, as I do basic rifle and pistol instruction and it's nice to know if someone fucks up, I'll probably make it long enough for an ambulance to get to the range.

You think our good friends the Roof Koreans would turn down some ballistic protection? Some people have things worth protecting, and running away isn't an option.

If you can't afford it you can't afford it. But I have an OK job, so it wasn't some major expense. I wouldn't rate body armor as a top priority for most people, but it also wouldn't hurt them.
