I got offered a HK USP Compact in .357SIG, it has a fair deal of holster wear but has not been shot much and comes with 4 magazines.
Price is really good, I can have it for 300USD.
.357SIG on the other hand is rather expensive compared to 9mm.
Should I buy it? Or is the .357SIG just a waste of money?
357 sig aint bad, but depending on how much you shoot (only good answer is a lot) ammo price will add up.
300 ain't a bad price for it

I would take it because that is a decent enough price that you can get some ammo and not feel bad about it plus its a HK, however I've always wanted to try out .357 sig and would consider passing if you have no interest in the caliber.
Also if this is your only handgun or you are a poorfag or something probably not the best choice but I don't get that impression from your post. Depends on how comfortable you are spending $300 on a curiosity.
For this price you're obliged to buy.
Take it out a few times and see how you feel.

Seller is trustworthy we are hunting together every so often. He nowadays is more into big boy revolvers and the .357sig is his oddball pistol taking up space

Buy it and then buy a .40 barrel for it. You just got 2 really good guns for 300 dollars. Those guns handle .40 really well.
