I want to add a flashlight to my pistol. Any recommendations on a good brand ? I have no clue about them since I never cared much about them until now.

There's Surefire and there's shit lights, those are the options.

Alright. Anyone else want to object to this ?

Tlr-1 is good, I got mine on Ebay new for under $100

That fag is living in 1995. Surefire makes good stuff but streamlight and inforce have simmilar build quality in my experience, aside from the inforce being made primarily of polymer. I mean, Surefire has a much more extensive history of military contracts than anyone else but the others have been proven in police departments and civilian use in recent years. Saying the only good light is a surefire is like saying the only good AR is a Colt or the only good AKs come directly from Kalashnikov Concern.

>inforce is just as good!
This is your mind on foodstamps

I got a couple of Olight PL Mini lights on black friday when they had a 2 for 1 sale. Pretty dece, but I have only ever owned one other pistol light so I can't compare much. The charging method is nice because you don't have to remove the light from the gun and if you are using it on your bedside gun and have to use the gun in a hurry, the magnetic charger just pops off without having to fuss with it.

I have a Streamlight TLR-1 HL. Shit is fucking bright; 800 lumens and hasn't failed on a diet of heavy 10mm yet.

Stream fire is best bang for your buck.

>Buying shitfire
Yeah. Any reputable brand like Olight, Streamlight, Viridian, inforce, etc. all work fine. It doesn't fucking matter. We've had over 100 years to figure out how a fucking flashlight works. Don't let surefire shills trick you into thinking they've done anything special. Chinese-made products work if there's a brand-name company forcing them to make it to their standards. No-name bullshit like "Turbo-Lumen Super Bright! 1000lm weaponlight" is junk you need to stay away from.

Get u one of these el cheapo chinesium ones

Fuck. Stream light. I'm a retard

Anyone have any experience finding a light for a Polymer80 Glock 19 frame? Looking for something that preferably fits flush with the end of the barrel

I've had mine for about a year and a half now with no issues.

Inforce compact
Streamlight Tlr-7
Olight mini Valkyrie

>Inforce compact
*Inforce APLc
ftfy

I dont want no Chinese crap I want Murican made.

Streamlight TLR-1 is the conventional budget alternative to Surefire. These days, though, Olight is also a really good budget option -- I'd consider them both perfectly good, so it comes down to your individual preferences in batteries, form factor and controls. (Oh, and Streamlight generally has better holster availability, if that's an issue.)

I can't speak to Inforce one way or the other; I have one of their rifle lights (and am happy with it), but the pistol lights are a completely different product.

Streamlight is for you.

My man.

I run the TLR-1 on my Glock. Is good.

Kinda want the tlr 8

Not that user but I got an inforce as a gift and put it on one of my Glocks, I really like the switch design, quick press turns on/off, long press is momentary only. Other than that I've only had stream lights that I got in trades (not much of a light guy), they all seem pretty decent overall. Is it possible a surefire is 10x better? Sure but I've been using these lights for years and never had any issues, what more can you ask from a light?

Only pistol weapon light I have is olight valk pl2. All I can say is I’ve had it for 3yrs. It’s always worked, I like the controls, and it’s bright af.

You’ll be happy with it. I’m a professional mechanic and we all use rechargeable streamlight flash lights at work, fantastic product. I have owned two streamlight gun light/lasers and they were great.

surefire x300u or nothing. problem solved.

streamlight is junk. local pd got them and most of the units are failing on them already for the rifle light and the handguns

Nah, my local PD carries exclusively streamlights and mine have passed my personal niggerish testing of throwing them up as high as possible and having them land on concrete repeatedly.

Are there any advantages to a small light like an olight mini compared to a valkyrie for a nightstand gun or do I get the biggest and brightest that'll fit?

Streamlight TLR-1

I've had mine for nine years, I fucking love it.

Those are fake try to register it with streamlight. Lots of counterfeits on eBay and amazon for under 100.

I have no fucking clue why anyone would roll the dice on eBay and Amazon anymore.

Yup, streamlight has even picked up some military contracts like force recons M45a1(which is a stupid pistol but we are talking about lights)

I got the tlr 1, I love it.

Olight all day. I picked up the Mini 2 recently and it's probably the best light I own.

TLR1 is a good choice but you should aim for a Surefire X300

Wrong.

Biggest gun with the biggest light, fuck yeah!
Brightest, though -- there's different schools of thought on that. ~1000 lumens on a white wall a few feet in front of you is really fucking bright, some people prefer a dimmer one if you're going to be using it exclusively indoors.
On the other hand, ~1000 lumens in the face is even brighter yet, so it does have its benefits.
In part, it depends how bright/dim you keep your house -- if you're one of the people who put electrical tape over all the LEDs on wall warts, or you've got a night light in every room.

One benefit the Olight PL-Mini in particular has is never needing new batteries, at the cost of needing the magnetic charger clicked to it -- but unlike a carry gun, where that means you need to take it out of the holster periodically, that's really no issue for a nightstand gun. So if you're happy with the beam, it could make sense.

Who the fuck has white walls?

Most people. Do you live in a cave?

I haven't used their pistol lights, but I have one on the AR. I like it fine, it makes light reliably every time. Really not sure what else I could ask from a flashlight.

People only want dimmer weaponlights because they have failed to understand low-light weapon use because of a lack of research/training/practice. Get the brightest most reliable light you can buy, 800 lumens minimum.

If OP wants a light for a nightstand gun, I highly don’t recommend a 1000 lumen light.

Why not? 1000 lumens is perfectly reasonable. Unless you have zero practice even playing around with your weaponlight.

>Order an Olight PL-2RL Baldr through amazon a few weeks ago
>Light comes in and works fine except the screw for adjusting the windage on the laser is stripped, and by stripped I mean the fucking screw head is almost round
>Call Olight, they say to just order a replacement through amazon
>Replacement comes in, same exact problem, windage screw screw completely boned
>Notice there's only a 50 digit difference between the serial numbers on the two lights
>Call Olight again, they have the person who does amazon sales email me
>English clearly isn't their native language but they get some info from me and send another one out
>The third light has functional screws, going to shoot it tomorrow
Everything eventually worked out and I probably just got 2 lights from a bad batch but their poor QC makes me hesitant to order from them again.

High lumen WMLs are only an issue if you don't know how to use WMLs and are frankly handling your firearms in a less than safe manner. You know what the layout of your house is and you should only be using baseboard or umbrella lighting for admin purposes when such is necessary. Hunting around muzzling every corner and shadow to find out what's over there is a bad idea for a number of reasons. It both involves muzzling things you aren't sure are a threat(primary reason for a WML...) and constantly reveals your location as you're moving. High lumen WMLs better allow you to use the spill of your light to ID targets while keeping your muzzle in a safe direction, provide more administrative info when properly used in such a fashion for navigation, and do a better job of disorientating a possible subject when directed at them. If you literally don't have a lawn, dont go outside, and maybe have some sort of light sensitivity disorder then i understand going with a lower lumen light. Otherwise it's just fudd shit.

I have a TLR-1 and its pretty good. Controls are nice and simple. Very bright.

>supporting anti-2A companies
Ishiggydiggy

Surefire, Streamlight, Inforce. In that order. Just buy a Surefire X300U and be done.

Surefire - Great lights. Do not go for the masterfire gimmick shit though, X300 is fine

Streamlight - Good lights. Tailcap is supposedly less durable. Throw and pattern is not quite as good as Surefire, but still very good. Some people don't like the way the tailcap works because it can be pretty easily actuated accidentally.

InForce - They're p good, but you're getting into "hard to find fitting holsters" territory.

OLight - Lights are honestly not that bad, but good luck finding compatible holsters at this level.

>tfw mounting a weaponlight to your gun (even owning in the first place) is more punishable in my country than kicking some random girl down the stairway of the subway station

Pretty much this
If light is for work/self defense/life then surefire.

But if light is for fun gun streamlight/inforce is just as good :^)

Speaking of lights, what do you guys think of a TLR2 HL on a Mark 23? I currently have no light or laser on mine. Going for something like this.

bwahahaha fuck you German cuck all this socialist shit is your fault anyway.

T. Austrian

No? I live in a house with painted walls.

LAM is really the only acceptable option.

How would one attach a light to a 92fs

i think your only option is to do a triggerguard mount... which isn't that awesome.

LAM is also like $6000. They're unobtanium. It's either the TLR2 or the Steiner. I just don't know if the Steiner is really worth paying $200 more for.

I had a shittyass NcStar pistol light on my G17 back when it was my HD gun.
Thing worked fine for me, only problem was that it SUCKED battery so fast.
>accidentaly flip switch on
>12 hours later its dead
Im probably gonna look into buying an Olight or a Streamlight though.
Heres an interesting torture test I saw the other day of Olight youtube.com/watch?v=zXlPskGz5Rg
Takes 3 rounds of 12ga birdshot and still runs, including 1 shot directly to the face.

I have one it's cool for triggering poorfags but that's it. Maybe a dbal. Another option is the original hk light by insight.

>my gun light ran for 12 hours
dude a surefire or streamlight will eat a pair of CR123s in like 20 minutes or less, and you'll get burned by touching the lens after like 1 minute

It took those weird little chunky lithium batteries, the ones that look like a AA got mashed down.
For overall function the NcStar was decent, got it for 20$ at a gunshow and it lasted until I sold the Glock.
I shot with it all the time and it never failed, not like Im going on black ops with it or anything, just defending the homestead.

>dude a surefire or streamlight will eat a pair of CR123s in like 20 minutes or less,
Really, cause my tlr1 lasts about 70 mins before needing new batteries. Maybe try not running the HL version?

Streamlight.

Crab rave mk1 is good.

Surefires are sturdy, but that's all they have going for them. In terms of actual illumination, they're 10 years behind.

Streamlight TLR-1 is pretty nice.

Attached: 171232.jpg (1732x835, 996K)

Look at newer models that are recently being released. They've updated their stuff, but I'd say more like 5 yrs behind.

My EDC flashlight is a Streamlight, I use them for all my hobbies like working on cars and shooting, and I use them at work on my helmet and turnout coat. Take from that what you will.

Trigger guard mount or get a M9A1/92A1/M9A3

>High lumen WMLs better allow you to use the spill of your light to ID targets while keeping your muzzle in a safe direction
It sounds like you've never used a lower lumen light before and are just spouting shit you heard online. I've even tested my 150 lumen EDC light outside and it reliably lights things 50 yards away and more. I would need one hell of a lawn for 300 lumens not to be enough. Do you live on one of those Southern plantations with 500 acre lawns?

nice

Any light bright enough to be useful, and any battery small enough to be practical on a handgun, is not gonna last 12 hours.
The solution to the problem is to pick a light with controls suitable to the way you carry the gun, such that it won't get activated accidentally.

Or else go with a rechargeable one and plug it in every night.
