I'm not a chemist, but from what I remember from high school chemistry is that when you mix an acid and an alkaline, you get water, a salt, and heat. Any other byproducts from mixing cleaning ammonia and pool cleaner would be from contaminants withing the chemicals.

I looked it up, hydrochloric acid and ammonia produces relatively inert ammonium chloride
It is ammonia and hypochlorite bleach that produces chloramine

Liquid antacid-water is widely used to treat tear gas' (CS) effects on your eyes, just look it up and you will see it used in practice. People also use it for pepper spray (Capsaicin), although it isn't as useful as diluted milk for that purpose. Milk should be freshly opened and pasteurized if you are getting it anywhere near your eyes, though.

try using animal tendons, apply them while wet and leave them to dry. Hopefully over a fire if possible. Or try digging up small roots and tie them together. Roots aren’t the bestest source of threads, but they are strong and will get the job done until other sources are made

Just as an FYI, this is going to make ammonia gas.

The one user is sort of right in that it'll turn into ammonium chloride, but if the pH gets low enough, ammonium ions will turn into ammonia. With the volumes involved in this diagram, chances are very good that there's more than enough ammonia to neutralize all of the HCl in that test tube.

I guess to expand so people don't just ignore this. If I'm wrong feel free to say so.
1) An approximate nitric acid concentration is important. "Concentrated" might mean anything from 2 to 10M, and the difference will absolutely have an effect on the quality of the product and possibly even the success of the synthesis, but too much will negatively effect its stability. If he actually did this he couldn't really admit it, but giving a number isn't a confession and if he didn't actually verify I don't know that I trust him in the first place.

2) No good reason to use ammonium nitrate to cool the water. Simply adding salt to the old one won't cool it down, and a new ice bath won't be _below_ freezing either - it'll be at or just above the temperature of the ice.

3) Truthfully I don't see the point of this step in the first place. Maybe the thermodynamic product is RDX and the kinetic product(s) are other garbage and the point is to slow down the reaction as much as possible? Is it just making sure the reaction goes to completion, and if so why below freezing? Or is the reaction really fast and this where crystallization starts? Who can say. Knowing what this is for is important to success, and to know if things are proceeding as they should, and just like before there is no reason to omit this information.

4) General nonsense. 550mL acid + whatever amount of hexamine in a 500mL beaker, trying to use litmus paper on solids.

Someone else can probably find more. Also, he isn't joking when he says if you don't have a background in chemistry you'll probably kill yourself. Probably nobody should try to do that outside of proper lab either, among other things what's described in steps 1 and 5 will gas you.
