yeah i know it has a stigma for being the nazi LARP maschine, but its honestly a great pistol for self defense. The sights come up so natrually for me there is no pistol to compare. Also its reliable. There is a reason why the bundeswehr and german police kept them around for so long

goin to pick up my first glock tomorrow fellas. Am excite.
Glock 19 gen 3 with two 30 rnd mags, a tr16 laser, and a brand new p80 fluted threaded barrel all for $500
It's gonna be a good day

Because it was cheap and they didn't need to retrain; "Let's stick with the pistol we know, just make it with an aluminum frame." (so the P1 and P4).
The thing works, but it wasn't all that well liked by the Bundeswehr, and the thing is kind of stupidly big for a 9mm pistol that only holds 8+1rds.

They're fine for collecting and just recreational shooting, but in a practical sense you can do far better.

Oh yeah, no lie, I want to get one for myself
to larp in a German WWII uniform during competitions
to collect. I found some surplus ones for cheap online, so I might pick one or two up.

i personally feeling comfortable with a pistol is more important than things like magazine capacity. The size is a bonus for me since i have huge as hands and i struggle to get a grip on many pistols. Since im from germany it was kinda cheap to pick up. And try to bring a pistol up fast and fire, hitting the taget. The P38 is so great for that. Idk why but i need like half a second more with glocks. Tho Im not shooting much due to lack of funds

Could also larp as oldschool Bundeswehr, with a P1 in a holster and a G3 rifle with wood furniture.

>i personally feeling comfortable with a pistol is more important than things like magazine capacity.
Well of course, statistically any defensive shooting is rare to exceed 1 or 2 shots, and 9mm Luger works.

I mean, if I say "A crazy axemurderer is coming our way, what do you have?", and you say "A loaded P38.", then that's one of the better answers I can hope for.
More, it's just that for most people, the kind of money you'd spend you could get something that would overall perform better.
If you have big hands, you could always look at a Beretta, it even uses the same style of tilting locking block.

i personally think "better" is highly subjective.

I personally dont buy into the idea that the gun makes much difference. Its more about he shooter, so comfort and being able to get the first accurate shot of are personally the most important points for me. OP should probadly try a whole bunch himself. Maybe a CZ 75 works best for him? Maybe the beretta? Maybe a gucci glock?

Ultimately, yeah. People still carry 1911s, and that's a large frame gun that holds like 7+1, a couple more in other calibers.
It kind of just has to work.

You don't own a single firearm.

>higher bore axis
>more mechanical parts in the way of of going bang
>somehow uglier than glock
>made by springfield

for me its the 509

Where's the hammer?

Attached: FNX45 (2).jpg (540x960, 102K)

They're imported from Croatia.

I paid $499 for a new in box g17 with 3 mags. If you’re getting a used gen3 for 500 you’re overpaying for those extras.
You’re not gonna want to carry those 30 round mags you’ll end up buying standards.

>back the fuck off?!?!?!?
Nice 7 yard group

show a pic of the rails

Peasants.

taking a nap. same goes for a thumb safety, decocker, whatever else just snags on shit they got rid of, and i love it. only buttons you gotta worry about are mag release & slide catch, both of which are shrouded. the sights are steel, and so tall i can rack it with one finger, and the only way it can fail is if you're a limp wrist neet or you drop it in wet cement

HK master race here, Sig a shit.

I use a Sig P938. I love it. But get the rubber grips. Super cozy to hold.

Hammer is still better than stricker.

This. P30L

There are ways to make a Glock less gay.

I like their look better, and I like their feel when racking the slide.

Attached: 5906 9mm pistol.jpg (600x431, 137K)

the sight wings are what makes the gun so iconic
without them, it just looks like any other generic boxy handgun

From a utilitarian aspect, Glocks are one of the most common side arms out there, and some parts even work cross models. It's a pretty ideal gun for SHTF Larping.

I don't agree, the all stainless steel build, the slanted dust cover, the quasi-1911 looking slide, yet it's not a 1911, locking differently and featuring a double-action pull, with a spur hammer in a world of 'combat hammers', these things and features are its look.

exactly so why buy the overpriced springfield when the croatian hs2000 is cheaper and the same thing
