Barring the fact that there was a sizable chunk of time after they ate and before they went to bed, and that heroin is a very poor sleep sedative and can actually make it harder to fall asleep, especially for non-addicts, and even make one irritable during sleep and more sensitive

Even if more than one person was involved, I would fascinated to hear how he managed to do it since he would've gotten away with it if he didn't admit to it and tell them where to locate the gun.
