as a reconnaissance fighting vehicle What do you think of it ?
Technical with 25mm gun

Too heavy, if you're going to use a technical for recon you don't want anything bigger than a .50 cal on it, those trucks don't drive as fast or handle as well when they've got a big ass gun in the back.
Plus having a big fuckin turret makes you a big fuckin target.
Libyan rebels made on with some elite Russian naval cannon on it
Will see if I can find the vids
I think it’s epic
cant kill anything a half dozen dudes with rpgs in the back can and it much easier to kill. Basically you tried to min/max in the wrong direction. You ended up with a shitter bmp that is less flexible
oh herro
it won't be a big fuckin target when you fighting Infantry
technical with a BMP-1 turret
Post your favorite technical
Turrets too high
The fuck is this guy doing?
Hovering
showing off, you never had that bro that does shit you think is stupid but in a way that always works out?
>as a reconnaissance fighting vehicle What do you think of it
Top heavy as F.
4x4 Wheeled vehicles are already poorly equipped for recon roles cross country adding that much weight high up cripples it
>Armored turret
>Glass Drivers section
>Typical 4x4 with open front radiator
Mobility kill with rifle fire or a single anti material round to shatter the engine block then ignore
because the m242 has more complex mechanism than 2A28 and Bigger size
I'm crying hhhhhhhhhhh
>mobility kill with rifle fire or a single anti material round to shatter the engine block then call for fire to destroy
fixed for you
Pretty gangsta
Absolutely fucking neato
I think that there was a hummer version with a 30mm gun and some stinger.
So i think that instead of a manned tower, just put a 25mm remote weapon station.
About the bmp1 towers in technicals: the bmp1 uses a low presure gun thats basically a rpg launcher. I think that they even used your standard rpg ammo.
Other than the weight, tht i think they can manage it, i am dubious about they being able to manage the recoil of a 25mm gun.
You want the turret to be unmanned to save weight.
now THIS is a good recon
Fast,stable and pretty light
what's the point of having a 20mm+ if you don't put enough armour to keep out .50's?
This could work in a parallel universe where gravity does not exist.
why is the turret armoured and the truck cab and engine unarmoured?
Your drawing is stupid.
Warping the barrel of his gun, making his aim even shittier.
dips, bro. dyel?
pogo stick
If you got enough money to put a 25mm on a technical, why not just load up quad .50's
Give it 4 independently suspended and motorized with electric motors and a minigun and we have ourselves a Warthog.
No. Pintle mount is the heaviest you can go on a pickup. That means 50 cal, MAYBE 20mm. Tbhwydesu it depends on what you're going to be shooting at. You might be better off with two 7.62 gunners and a shitload of ammo.
Put some AR500 plates to protect the gunner, even. But a full enclosure is the wrong idea for a pickup/jeep.
how many shots before it falls over?
Those tires are disproportionately tiny.
Why not just give the guys in the truck a pair of binoculars and a radio? A turret like that would weigh actual tons and be very top heavy.
Someone show this faggot the video about the Bradley
>Blamblamblam*pause while the rig sways back and forth*Blamblamblam.
Now we're talking...
Single axle suspension would never be able to carry the weight.
new version
what happens when you take a corner at more than 0 mph and tip over?
probably jumping to sit on the hood.

this comes to mind when reading this thread
>Not completely remodeling the cabin
>Not placing the turret at the height of the original roof
>Not taking any fucking clues from the Sd.Kfz. 222
Creating a modern day 222 would be pretty fucking baller though, autocannon on a technical sounds like a good idea to lay down some heavy fire.
25mm - too big for small stuff, not big enough for light armor
Turret - no. It's a technical, keep it light.
Either gas-powered 20mm or GSh-23, as it doesn't need power to cycle, only to fire.
Hoth want their gun back
Looks like pushing a wrench tight a wheel nut
30mm
Get rid of the gun and give it a proper engine and suspension.
30mm viper and internally retractable, so you can send it in via Chinook. Though not envisioned for gmv 1.1 I believe.
>This has fired multiple times without falling apart.
I am questioning all my instincts as a mechanical engineer.
Top kek.
Way too top heavy. Get rid of the gun.
why would it fall apart? the truck frame is about the same as a howitzer's stabilizing legs, and the load from the recoil is transferred to the wheels and converted to forward motion. just leave it in drive or neutral while firing. of course accuracy is shit but that's not the point really is it.
Soulless
You're not adressing the main problem
You could easily put a 20 on a pickup assuming it was just the gun on a fairly basic mount, perhaps with a sheild on the front. It's only when you want to add the armored turret that the weight gets out of hand.
Something like pic related would easily work on a standard pickup.
You are misidentifying the main problem. A normal full-size pickup can carry a couple thousand pounds in the bed before it needs another axle. A 20mm does not weigh anywhere near that much. for example. weighs 116 lbs for the gun plus 475 lbs for the mount. You can easily carry that, a gunner, and a bunch of ammo without exceeding the weight limit of a standard pickup.
this weighs 94 lbs for the gun and 345 lbs for the mount.
Quit making up animals!
Dual 20mm WWII vintage. this weighs 1175 lbs complete with two guns and mount.
Again, easily within the weight capacity of a standard pickup truck.
American made trucks aren't that strong though
I've hauled greater than 3000 lbs of scrap metal in the back of an '86 F150 on several occasions, though I admit that it rides like ass with that much weight. 1500 lbs would be nothing, and that's a shitty old truck.
The moving company I use for my business has hauled my 7700 lb lathe on the back of their Dodge 5500 multiple times....while pulling a trailer. Modern trucks are not so weak as you think.
Aren't most technicals built on non-American trucks anyway? toyota Hilux seems to be ubiquitous.
Mobility kill
For some reason I feel like a Hilux is rated for less that a f150, so I'm not sure what that guy was talking about. Also I think the Lux is a pretty capable little truck.
>reconnaisance
dead contraption and not how these should be used.
In my experience, yes, the Hilux has lower ratings than a typical "full size" pickup, which makes sense given that it is smaller. Hilux is about the same size as the old Ford Ranger or the Chevy S-10. It's a compact truck. That said, it is better built than the F150. It has a solid track record of surviving 3rd world abuse. (which again, makes sense, given that back in the day a Toyota cost twice what a Ranger or S-10 cost)
Generally speaking, a compact truck is rated to carry about a ton, and it can go up a lot from there. For example, a modern F350 is rated for anywhere form 3700 lbs to 7700 lbs of cargo in the bed depending on exactly which submodel it is. That's just the *rated* weight capacity, which people often exceed.
Fudd aesthetic juxtaposed over Shall
Good luck mounting a 25mm autocannon turret on a Toyota Tacoma retard
I can tell you from experience they are more than enough
The recoil of 20+ mm sways the truck like harlots' hips. Sure it packs a punch, but the aim is shit.
So put a brake on it. There were multiple 20mm anti-tank cannons from WWII and earlier which were man-portable. If a man can fire a Lahti or Solothrun prone, then it can be done on a truck mount too.
>just leave it in drive or neutral while firing.
Huh, I didn't even think of that. I suppose that would take a lot of the shock out of the recoil. Carry on then.
Far, far too heavy for the trucc.
Succinctly covered by already.
God that's sexy
Are these the most overlooked vehicles from ww2? Every country had some kind of light armored car with a turret
We pirates of the Caribbean now
Cooooool
I can't wait until I have access to my Hum-Vee-Wee image in ninety minutes, this thread makes me want to design more ridiculous vehicles
Too vulnerable. It would make more sense if it was mounted on a Deuce and A Half that had armored wheel skirts with RPG nets all around it.
>seat all the way back
>no top
>arty shells loosely lying about
>mcnig hand hanging out window
now this is some gangster shit
>weight limit
>limit
Something like a little Hilux if you weren't over you'd be damn close, and all your driving characteristics would be out the window.
>toyota tacoma
He doesn't know, nobody tell him.
is this an early design for the Bradley?
>slat armor bolted without stand-offs
why are sand-niggers this retarded?
