Does anyone know where I can find a set of the revision viper mini rails?
I don’t need any info on why I shouldn’t be using this system or what’s better. I already have the revision viper NVGs shroud thing because reasons.

Yeah, it sort of is. I didn't realize that's what the customer was basing it off of, but it came out really nice. The pouch and removable tourniquet holders give it some uniqueness.

Anybody know if the Haley Strategic Flatpack will fit on a slickster molle rear plate bag? Also do the flatpack and flatpack plus take up the same amount of webbing to mount? I'm wanting to get my PC setup before Nuggetfest this coming month and just want a pack that I can put a hydration bladder in, as well as hold some bare essentials like a rain jacket, some food, etc.

Never head of the micropore though, will look that up. What's the advantage of that over some frog or duct tape to hold together some gauze or other essentials that have been placed?

The tape is 3” of the durable surgical tape. Less permeable once applied, designed to stick to skin - easy to unfuck. Frog tape is a pain to use in quantities that mean anything and likes to stick to itself and rip it’s adhesive off. You’re going to be using tape for more than just securing flesh and plastic. Medic tape is best tape.

I'll grab some in this order then. Need to refresh a lot of this old stuff. What kind of packaged/compressed/sterilized agent-free gauze is your go-to?

if not its a matter of acceptance, every option has downsides. Consider a fanny over a dangler, most of them are easy one click away to being removable. Theres no perfect way to run an IFAK for all situations.

It’s cool. The pull tab is a little obnoxious. If you use it, make sure to bag all your little goodies so they don’t spread to the 4 winds when someone has to rip open your IFAK.
Start with HAM lisence
If you go looking for MOPP suits, make sure they’re sealed and look like this. Don’t buy the cheap one someone is selling as a jacket or pants. Familiarize yourself with the MOPP levels and always buy new when it comes to one-and-done protective gear.

Kinda - the MOPP Duit is close as it can work as extended use but if you’re actually in contact with caustic/radioactive, etc material it’s gonna eat away at whatever is protecting you.
Think of it like the “multihit” meme that I’ve been known to rail against - or the filters in you gas mask. Sure, you’re equipment ‘can’ sustain a fair amount of use and damage but it’s not smart to ride that line.

Yeah 74D, CBRN Specialist, you do Hazmat training up to the operator level in AIT, after that you gotta get your unit to send you somewhere for Technician and Incident Commander training

You might be able to find some training slides online, just look for stuff like "react to CBRN attack" or look for FM 3-11 in PDF format, it's pretty basic stuff desu, I don't know how anyone failed our course, shit's easy

Hey man. Sorry I haven't gotten back to you about the packs, but it's been a busy weekend and the questions asked made me step back to reassess things.
As to what I'm going for, that's part of the issue. I'm trying to build a loadout that lets me go out and survive for a decent period. A lot of advice in this area seems to tell you that you should go out into the woods with a large ALICE pack and carry half a house on your back, but I'm not keen on that, as my knees are already giving me shit. So it's all about deciding on what's essential to do everything one needs to do to survive and potentially thrive.

My current kit pile is something like 3 folding knives, 1 butcher knife, 1 belt knife, 215 razor blades, 1 makeshift FAK, 400ft of assorted cordage, a tarp, a sleeping bag, a collapsible rocket stove, a billycan, a compact cook set, a 2l steel water bottle, a folding saw, a spetsnaz shovel, and a variety of other crap I've cobbled together. So the questions come up. Do you go with the shovelchete or do you put it aside in favor of a trowel? Do you carry the cook set or do you set it aside in favor of making soup and grilling? What's the best way to break everything down to achieve minimalism without sacrificing function? I've already abandoned the idea of a tent based on that. A tarp can be folded into a tent with ridiculous ease.
And that's just the raw survival side of things.

I have a slightly differently angled issue. Where I live the wearing of any tactical vest, never mind a plate carrier, attracts immediate and incredulous attention. Unless you are standing with a fishing rod and waders in a river, even a fishing gear vest will attract curious glances. Are there any kind of practical chestrigs that are designed for discretion? I am not planning on infiltrating the secret services - I just want to be left alone. Any suggestions beyond a fanny pack?
