Dunno... but I can give you a gay answer

i've seen that type of armor referred to as a coat of plates, but i'm interested in its gay name.

Pretty sure thats Middle Eastern, lamellar armor. It was popular for the cataphracts and other heavy troops that the muds fielded in the Crusades.

lamellar plates are attached to each other, not a backing surface

That's true. Its more of a coat of plates I guess. It looks aesthetically similar to the types of lamellar they used

This armor is slavic not middle eastern

Looks Mongol or Steppe to me

Armour used by cataphracts. You have lamellar armour with the steel plates and mail underneath, with steel plate vambraces. the helmet is beyond me, but it looks similar to a nasal helm.

Actually, scratch that, it looks more Russian.

Well the filename impies that

Literally in the filename

Definitely Slavic armor. They were heavily influenced by steppe people. The lammelar plates can attest to that. That style of helmet was also common around Russia. And there's an arming sword in shot, ruling out middle eastern origin.

Plated mail. Pretty much exclusively used by Arabs and Indians.
Looks like it's made for a fat guy too.

Thats the file name i gave it. not the orignal

good guess but its actual Slavic/ Russian

Lamellar armour

It's early Anime armor, yes anime.
