It's all so tiresome

>libruuhl mom comes over for a surprise visit
>barges in like she owns the fucking place
>sees field stripped, beaten up greek mauser
>cue autistic screeching
I actually had to call the fucking police to get her to GTFO
Anyone have similar stories?

My mom told my gf about my 20+ guns before I was ready to, probably freaked her the fuck out at the time.

should have taken some cell phone video

My aunt is serving 10-15 for felony B&E, felony burglary, and 2 counts of domestic battery. She came over for a surprise visit while I was in college in my early 20s, saw I had a gun safe (which was locked), screeched something about being a school shooter and immediately socked me in the mouth. I literally threw her out (actually threw her down the front steps), locked the door, and called the cops.

Not 30 minutes after posting bail she shows back up. I'm talking to her through a closed door and she threatens to burn the apartment complex down, "anything it takes to get rid of those horrible weapons of war" (note that she still doesn't actually know I HAVE guns, just a gun safe). Cops are called AGAIN. I also file for a restraining order against her.

The next day while I'm in class I get a call from my alarm company saying my front door alarm had gone off. Get home, front door is open but no signs of forced entry (I am 900000000% sure it was both locked and deadbolted). Gun safe is missing and the wall it was bolted to is basically ripped out. Call cops. Inform landlord. Landlord says he let my aunt in because she gave some sob story about how she was concerned for my safety and wanted to make sure I was okay. Cops take statement from me, take statement from landlord, and go pick my aunt up. My gunsafe is in the middle of her living room, half cut open, angle grinder still plugged in. There were 5 guns in there and about $800 worth of ammo. Hence the B&E felony burglary. She sits in jail until restraining order is finalized, then they let her post bail.

I will never understand you people or your strange lives.

I grew up in the suburban/ruralish midwest US in a blue state. I have never had to hide the fact that I collect firearms from anybody. Even the liberal college girls at the bars don't give a shit. Never had to keep it under wraps for an employer, neighbors don't give a fuck, nothing like that.

Are you guys just making this shit up? What kind of weird ass dudes are you that causes your gun ownership to frighten people?

I'm from europe, go figure.

Fast forward to trial for first domestic battery. I'm basically the major witness. Middle of my testimony she jumps up and goes on a tirade about how I was a danger to society and was gonna kill people and maybe even bomb the school and how I was a domestic terrorist but she loved me anyway and hit me "for my own good". She's charged with contempt and escorted out, judge calls a recess to question counsel about whether she was competent to stand trial, because that was definitely something an insane person would do. Trial postponed for another 2 months while they do a psych eval on her, she passes and is deemed competent to stand trial.

Trial 2.0, I give my testimony via video conference because the judge believed having me physically present in the courtroom would both endanger my safety and set her off, slowing things down. Not really sure what happened since witness segregation and all, I basically sat in a lounge the rest of the day. She's convicted after just a few minutes of deliberation, and I'm allowed in for sentencing. Judge gives her time served and 3 years of parole, plus mandatory anger management classes. I'm pissed, that's less than half mandatory minimum sentence and state as much, loudly. She's pissed, hurdles the divider between the defendant's area and the general public's area, and starts trying to strangle me with her handcuffed arms. She gets decked by me and tazed by the courtroom deputy, is charged with contempt #2, and I insist on pressing charges for domestic assault and domestic battery. Again.

Your story is probably bullshit but I have to ask: were the guns okay?

>rural midwest

There you go. It's a whole different world in coastal blue urban shitholes.

How light/small is you bolted-in-an-apartment-complex-somehow safe containing all that ammo that your crazy old aunt was able to move it?

Okay yeah, your story is bullshit.

One of the rifles had a pretty big gouge in the stock from an ammo can crashing into it when she tipped the safe over, and a cheap optic got smashed also probably from ammo, but nothing lost functionality.

I'm
and this happened in rural Illinois in an otherwise extremely gun friendly area.

It was a Stack-On 8 gun cabinet. So, I dunno, maybe 150lbs with everything in it? The empty cabinet is maybe 40ish.

How the fuck did your aunt rip a bolted down safe out?

I guess that's a world that I don't really understand. The only place that I ever frequent is Washington state around Seattle, people are definitely a lot more liberal around there but I don't think I ever felt like the culture would demonize me for owning firearms.

Pry bar and all the time in the world since the fucking landlord let her in because he's an idiot.

Any history if similiar incidents with her?
Mental issues? How is she handling it?

I spent very little time around her, she basically was entirely uninvolved with my life up until then. Find out after she's in jail that she and my uncle had a couple physical fights which is why they got divorced when I was like 2, so she did have a history of domestic violence but nothing that ever involved the cops.

Apparently no history of mental illness.

She's still in jail, I haven't spoken to her since sentencing for the B&E and burglary charges, and don't intend to. When she gets out, IF I ever see her, I'm immediately calling the cops. She's up for parole in February of next year.

>not a single photo to back up your bullshitposting

If this story is true, and I seriously doubt it, you'd do well to move before then and not tell your landlord or any family members dumb enough to tell her where you're moving to.

What state are you in?

I don't doubt it, people are fucking insane.

Currently in Kentucky. The only person from my family that knows where I live now is my dad, who sure as fuck isn't gonna tell her, he's more likely to kill her than I am at this point.

My mom found out about my fairly extensive arsenal, (10 long guns, 4 handguns and """pistols""") when she gave my room a surprise cleaning and found my stash in my closet
She was completely shocked and thought I was planning something because the only gun she knew I had was my friends moss 500 that I was holding for him while he sorted out some legal issues regarding a homemade safe, but once I explained everything to her she was pretty cool about it although she did turn me down when I asked her if she'd like to go go the range

called popo on your mom?

My parents would freak out if I even mentioned thinking about buying a firearm while living with them. They wouldnt even allow me to get an airgun if I promised them they would never see it and id put it in a locker.

I mean...if she comes after you she might as well get a permanent life lesson why being armed is important

How did she try to strangle you if you were giving testimony via video conference? Was the sentencing on a different day? If so why did they deem it unsafe to have you there for trial 2.0, but find it perfectly fine to have you there on sentencing day?
Come on man, do better next time.

He was allowed back into the courtroom for the sentencing.
Testimony was through closed circuit TV.

Can confirm rural IL is super pro-gun
Good to see a fellow rural Illinoisan here
