rune scimitars are actually an inflexible demand, because progress past level 40 is soft-locked behind superior equipment due to rapidly escalating monsters

one actually does "need" a rune scimmy
in as much as a rune scimmy is a requirement to progress in level past a certain point, which is the goal of most players who arent outright merchants
