C-71 isn't going to ban handguns. There HAVE been some heavy talks about banning handguns, but if that happens, it'll be another bill entirely.

Bill C-71 is about adding traceability to Non-Restricted firearms transfers. Anyone selling or gifting a NR gun would have to start a transfer over the phone, and firearms retailers would have to keep what is essentially a registry every time they make a sale.

Adding to this, put at least 500 rounds through it in the heat and from frozen before you trust your life to it. My 500 jams shut randomly. And be wary of barrel combos with fixed chokes, as those aren't rated for steel shot.
