I'm sincerely not memeing, it's tested. There was an issue with the old batch, and it wasn't the real deal. SG worked out some kind of new order, and were pretty fucking specific about getting the actual stuff this time. The last ones had different jacket designs that basically made them fmj's with peep holes.

I'm retarded and I'll probably never own an actual AK, but can someone give me a quick rundown of scope attachment options via side-mounts? Are there specific types and/or proprietary attachment mount? Do I just throw my hands to the air and buy an 'universal' mounting plate?
I'm thinking of getting something for my Type 81 but I've been spoiled for having been born in the west and non-standard mounting options just fucking befuddles me. It looks like witchcraft, I swear to god.

I know this is /AKG/ but I'm in a real dilemma here. On one hand, AK's are fuggin neat, and I already bought a stock set from Soviet Stocks before a great AK deal fell through. But now I have the cash that would've been the AK (had it not failed to go into battery the first 3 times I ran the action) burning a hole in my pocket, and my LGS has the Scorpion in stock. Do I hold onto the stock set for later. embrace the zoomer lifestyle, and pick up the scorpion, or should I just bite the bullet and buy the AK74?

I've been kinda tempted to go this route, desu. Some of the higher end airshit actually is decent quality, and I can find it in stock. Newfag to AKs here: I have a friend selling off some of his AKs and he has an SAR1, a WASR 10/63, and a Romanian G. I know the WASRs have a bit of a bad rep, but what about the other two? Are Romanian AKs quality? Which one would you buy?

Took the 104 out the other weekend. Damn the fucker is heavy. Bit gassy too, but not soo bad when you're on the move. Round count sitting about 900 right now, no issues.
Wolverine PBS-1 was coming loose after heating up. Not sure what is up with that. Perhaps not cranking it down tight enough? Bit confusing since the locking collar mechanism should prevent it from loosening. It isn't backing all the way off or anything because the detent grabs the collar, but it does come loose.
Anyone know what the part is called that acts as a pin to retain the muzzle device detent and spring inside the combo gas block of an AK104 or AK105 combo block? I need to replace it.
Also my Gen 2 Zenitco PT-1 stock broke. Collapsing mechanism busted. Doesn't stay in a fixed position. Not sure how it went. Zenitco responded very quickly and has sent out a parts kit and repair instructions. We'll see how it goes. Bit disappointed in a $330 stock. As I said I wasn't doing anything with it except bringing it up to shoulder.

Of the 3, the SAR is AT LEAST 16 years old, so it depends on how used it is. If it's in good shape it's probably the best of the three, but that also depends on what your friend wants for it.
10/63s were only brought in from ~2008-~2013, they're built from demilled AKMs on WASR receivers with a new barrel. As I noted above, the difference between a SAR1 and a 10/63 is the receiver. Other than that, same parts, same factory.
Romy Gs are Romy kit guns built in the US from demilled "Civil Guard" rifles. Absolute best-case scenario it's on-par with the WASR, and it's likely not put together as well. There's nothing inherently wrong with them and depending on who built it it might be a very good rifle, but I definitely wouldn't pick one over a Romy factory gun like the other two.

Show me a single 10/63 made from mixed parts. Every one I've ever seen is matched. And The vid I posted agrees with me. They literally demilled a PM63, then put it back together on a WASR receiver with a new barrel. That's all a 10/63 is.
