Tried to get a good info thread going the other night, the new Jow Forums cancer is too real. Might as well look up the do/k/ument on murdercube or try infinity.

I printed a glock frame. I still need to fit the rails. Maybe this weekend.

Working on another with 100% fill right now. I've never used a 3d printer before this so I did my first one at 10% fill just to make sure I had figured it out. It came out very well.

I think I'm going to try this out this weekend.

I had one stupid idea floating around. In a nutshell, it's an AR-15 except with a simplified breech lock mechanism. Think of it like an AR, an AK, and M14 all had a kid together.

>Steel tube upper, with groves cut for outside locking lugs (like an M14 or bolt action)
>long stroke gas piston with an apparatus to turn the bolt and shove it back (like on an m1915 Howell Enfield conversion)
>barrel held in place by a dual trunnion setup (a square block with a hole for the barrel, press the two together, and drill a barrel pin so all the parts can be held in the receiver)

Everything else is just like any ordinary AR. But you can also make the buffer tube, upper and handguard all one piece to make things easier.

It also looks like your layer thickness is up there.
I'd recommend setting a raft base for good adhesion, a particularly fine layer height and even a little Elmer's stick on your hestbed on the final run.
Let me know how it goes, my printer needs upgrades before I can run zytel.

Interesting...
Sounds like something that should be done by someone who can test fire remotely

What comp is that?

One day I'm going to get bored and search through the ar/k/ive and dokument just to cut the fluff and stupid shit
Anyone else have schematics?

Attached: 20 and youre done.png (542x435, 89K)

I want to add that you can actually use the 4-winds design for any caliber you want, as long as it's not something huge like 50 BMG or something.

All you have to do is make sure the barrel and receiver can fit and slide together like butter.

The one pictured was the standard 0.2mm, so not exactly anything unusual.

No purpose to a raft, it prints fine off supports alone. Just turn it upside down. Adhesion hasn't been an issue, using a glass bed.

These are PLA+, I'll also be buying some upgrades to run zytel.

On this print I turned the resolution up to 0.1mm and am doing 100% fill. Should be done in the morning some time.

Anyone have the poor man's rpg?

>Those too par pushed in rivets
This really shakes those bonepipes the wrong way

trying too hard buddy

If only I had a full machine shop and knew how to use it.

I think I will stick with the 80% kits and such.

Finished the second gat frame. Top is 100% fill. Weight is the same more or less as a normal gen 3 frame. In the hand you cant tell much difference blind, other than the printed frame being a bit slicker feeling.

A new parts kit should be here next week. The (front) rails require fabrication and fitting so there may be some trial and error. I'm waiting on the deterrence dispensed people to release their jig schematics.
I think total materials used was like 198 grams or something, so that works out to about $5 for materials and maybe a dollar in power.

I went ahead and ordered a new metal hot end and some other parts so I can try and do a zytel print in the near future. Zytel filament costs about 3x as much, but that still leaves the cost of a frame at only around $15 or so. This isn't about the cost, anyway.

Whoops, pic related. The top has 0.1mm layers and 100% infill, bottom has 0.2mm layers and 10% infill. In all honesty you can't feel any difference and it probably isn't worth the considerable extra time it takes to print at higher resolution for this.

Could you post a link to the file you used?

neat. Once my printer is up and running again I'll try this.

Sure.

I used the HD version with the button head screws. The button head version is theoretically stronger than the flush screws. The difference between HD and v2 is just for some slicers that may have issues. The files are all in there.

One guy also printed the rails out of nylon and is using them on a 9mm slide without issue, so it's an option although who knows how long it will last.

They are working on printable jig plans for easily making the rails out of a 1x1 block of aluminum, although you can freehand it if you want with a dremel.

thanks user,
I'll post some more schematics after work if this thread is still alive

The original inventor used PLA and PLA+, he said they worked great and that PLA+ was 100% A-OK.

Some of the Glock 80% kits have polymer rear rails. I wouldn't want both front and rear poly though.

Yeah, but they're probably a tougher injection molded polymer. The sort of plastics you get off a consumer grade 3d printer are useful and strong, but probably not comparable.

>In a nutshell, it's an AR-15 except with a simplified breech lock mechanism
Once I get my dacha built and have time for weird projects, I've thought about building a blowback .223 that would accept AR barrels and mags -- a big giant semi-auto legal Sten gun, basically. Just to prove it can be done. Problem is I ran the numbers and the bolt would have to be a minimum of 7 fucking pounds. It'd be like lugging around a miniature Oerlikon cannon.

How should I go about fabricating or obtaining a lower receiver for a DC9 parts kit? There are no plans online for the tec-9 lower so I don't have any measurements. Is there a commercially available 80% type item or substitute lower on the market?

Shilling my homebuild yet again. Have plans for a new build, based off the lever delay on the FAMAS. cant decide whether to do it in 9/45. want to supress eventually

Attached: 9mm build.webm (1280x720, 1.21M)

45 my dude

That kinda what Im leaning toward. All ammo is subsonic, so much easier to design around. Im thinking of doing a 16" barrel, and then machining the last 6" of it to be a flash hider and then boring that out to be just over the land OD. Then as long as I thread just before that, a supressor can go on easily

How do you make headspace for pistol cartridges?

most headspace on the mouth, so you just ream until you get your desired length into the chamber. I go until I have full case support, and the only thing sticking out is the rim

What if it’s a rimmed cartridge like .357 or .38spcl

then you headspace on the rim

Thanks, I’ve been trying to design a single shot bolt action .357 magnum that uses a really simple mas36 kind of bolt.

Kys fag

cool post your guns teenager

looks fine as fuck. nice

>blowback .223 that would accept AR barrels
AR barrels don't have fluted chambers, like most rifle-caliber blowback weapons use.
So you'll probably end up fucking around with lubricated ammo.

is that the front sight of a Lee-Enfield rifle?

>open bolt

>"dude makes me an illegal firearm please"

I like that because the gas system being totally external simplifies the design a lot more.

I don't mean to come off as bitchy, but you should format your images like this-

-or this
Disregard the first one being slightly corrupted

You could make the bolt about 1 pound, and then make a linear hammer setup that weighs 3 pounds, for a total of 4ish.

I was screen capping a pdf. Those are all full size, so someone could hypothetically save, print and use them as guides.

I've heard Prof. Parabellum has intentionally put one or two incorrect/dangerous part dimensions in some of his designs, is this true or did someone just not build one of his guns right?

memorize how to make pic related and you'll always have a way to get a better gun in an emergency or grab, I wonder if it is practical to pirate-carry a bunch of these in case you miss with one

you could add a (dubiously effective) safety by drilling a hole through the two pipes and inserting a split-pin as a safety pin, so they cannot move together or apart before it is removed.
