If that's true, anti-tank warfare, including from attack helicopters and other MBTs will have to rely on volume of fire to first overwhelm a tank before a kill shot. They already do, and they did from the very inception of this moronic idea, even before of APS. Caliming that tanks change and evolve is one thing, but saying that it's a dead concept is plainly stupid when we live constant live demonstration of why it not true with the Syrians not having enough of them for its open fields and with Merkavas dominating urban combat in Gaza.
But the idea must have some traction. Why are the usually intelligent dutch going without MBTs? They should have kept a few institutional elements in service just to maintain training if they ever planned on bringing them back. And the Germans are ignoring maintenance on most of their tanks from what I've heard.
Sad thing is, i know like 5 or 10 people who would have no problem taking this clip as the real deal, just like that RT-piece that used a screenshot from MW:2 or something to show stinger missiles in Ukraine

I think it was less of a conscious and deliberate decision, but rather it was more of slow deterioration over time, exampled by command's lacking interest and investment, that killed the Armored Corp. And the Germans are a sad story all by themselves; how many of their planes are flight capable? 30%? Indeed, the mind is what sends man up and what makes them crash down. The gook's mindset prevented them from loosing to the Americans, healthy, and reflectively unhealthy, mindset is what allowed the Israelis to beat all the Arabs in the early gangbang attempts... Unhealthy mindset, created by years of dominance and morality-lecturing bureaucrats, eventually led the same Israelis to embarrass themselves against Iranian proxies in the past decade.
I guess if the dutch ever need to restart their armor forces, they could just send officers to the US or Britain in order to relearn armor doctrine. But Germany is weird, because they keep making noise about wanting an EU army, but they don't even bother keeping their own up and running. It would take a decade to get Germany back up to snuff even if they had the political capital to do so. It all reminds me of the political situation in France throughout the 30s. You had fantastic officers making do. The the politicians were always cutting them short.

The Dutch and Germans are not preparing to fight a conventional war any time soon. Those that are invest heavily on tanks. Just look up who bought the Dutch tanks. The fact is that nothing else than other tanks can face armored forces in a meeting engagement. Sure AT weaponry is getting good, but it can't attack. Airborne assets are easily hampered by AA. If you look at the fighting in Ukraine, it really comes down to tanks and arty (admittedly the conflict lacks an air component.)
