I don't stipple mine for looks (but I also don't try to make them look bad either), I stipple because none of the Glock textures are aggressive enough except for the rtf2 texture which doesn't come for Glock 34's, and grip tape doesn't stay on well enough once you start gripping really hard
A high quality stippling kit costs a lot less than the polymer 80 frame and you don't have to monkey around with making the polymer 80 frame function
oh no
Wtf is that
I picked this thing up for $200 and it's pretty neat, shoots straight. Trigger pull is obnoxious but that's to be expected with a DAO mouse gun.
Anyone know where I can buy pic related in the US?
Sig Mosquito
Sig mosquito
the slides were made out of some zinc pot metal & had some durability issues
apparently the newer "GSG" Sig style .22s are better
Par for the course with those unfortunately, rip, hope you didn't pay more than $150
Gunbroker, armslist. I see them pretty frequently, don't get caught up in the $1,600+ auctions, those people are absolute shithead morons, I see regular SP1s sell for $700-900 online usually.
>and you don't have to monkey around with making the polymer 80 frame function
But I like "monkeying around" with guns. Building stuff is fun but I don't have a full shop or machining skills to make fully from scratch builds. At least not anything decent that I would actually look forward to using on a regular bases or be confident could defend my home.
80% guns are great for hobbies who aren't machinist as their day job, and the polymer 80 is a relatively easy build compared the the AR lowers that have to be milled out.
Maybe one day when my skills are better and I have more tools I might one day even take on a 1911 kit build, but those things are a little out of my ability range as I suck at working with steel.
80% guns are great hobbies for those of us that ARE machinists for a day job.
Hell I completed my poly80 lower sitting at my booth at the NRA Convention with a pocketknife and pair of pliers to turn the drill bits.
Those must have been sharp bits or strong hands.
Grand Power deserves much more love than it receives. I absolutely love my P40 in 10mm. Beats the shit out of a Glock 20.
Shit on my dreams and tell me why I don't want to blow 1300 dollars on a Walther P5 when aesthetically it rustles my jimmies.
Both, plus lotsa time.
It has an unforgivably shit trigger and that money can get you so much more
Meh trigger, wierdo left side ejection, expensive low capacity mags that don't interchange with P38s (but cut P38 mags will fit), a strangely boxy grip, and otherwise nothing to write home about, but it's a collectible and you'll pay what you pay. fwiw there is a NIB P5 on waltherforums right now for I think $1,500, so if yours isn't like-new, maybe you should jump on that one instead.
P5s are very pretty and probably won't lose value. That's why you buy 'em, not because they're particularly great guns. They were always meant to be inexpensive ($500) police guns.
Also you are legally obligated to buy him Nill's grips so factor that in to your finances.
10mm is best mm
Does your government know you have that, Aussie?
I don't know much about pocket guns. What should I look at besides pic related?
Anything in .22LR
tee hee
Literally nothing else besides the Ruger LCP 1 (that picture is of the gen 2).
Gen 1 is much rounder and smoother.
Pocket carry 7 rounds of .380 show me a better gun.
Sig P238/P938, Springfield 911, S&W Bodyguard, Remington RM380, Kahr CW380, glocc 42, maybe Kimber Micro, Sig P290 and Or if you want to go REALLY small and also very expensive and uncomfortable, a Seecamp.
Glock 43, Glock 43X, Glock 48

Is this a joke?
Anyone have experience with the Zastava EZ9 or any other Zastava DA/SA gun? I heard some nice things about them and have an ambidextrous decocker is appealing to me.
I was also thinking of getting a Sig SP2022 in 9mm.
I am a left-hander so the leftside case ejection is an appeal to me.
Unlike a P40 I trust the G20 to be reliable though
>43x
>48
>Pocket gun
You can also like tinkering with a stock frame though. The stippling is fun to learn.
What kinda madman would carry an LCP 2 like that? The trigger isn't that heavy and there's no safety. At least need a pocket holster
I think the Gen 1 version looks so much better and less boxy, but the trigger and sights on the Gen 2 are better. I see Ruger has a stainless slide Gen 1 one now with the upgraded trigger, PSA has em at $220. I thought about picking one up
Brainlet here. Can someone explain to me if Tokarevs are drop safe or not? The M57 ones specifically. Thanks in advance frens
I have a CZ99, two generations older than the EZ9.
They're good guns at a great price and you don't even have to finance terrorism or wrestle with your conscience to buy one!
The EZ9 brought back the neato feature from the really early CZ99s where it will poke your hand to let you know you have 3 rounds left. I haven't handled an EZ9 but my CZ99 has a great trigger, shoots nicely like a Sig, is fully bilaterally ambidextrous and has good sights. Mags are a little crusty, probably the weak point, but you should be able to find them for $15-20 each so you can stack 'em deep.
What are your opinions on 9mm 1911's?
They're quite nice imo. Only ever rented one at a range but I loved it. No recoil, slick single action trigger pull. Was the most accurate I've ever been with a handgun
MRDS gang.
ruger lc9s pro? anybody pocket carry one and like it?
Yes. Love mine. Get a good holster
Check out my newest addition.
>make sure to rotate and re-save
>fucking Jow Forums flips it an entirely new direction
thanks asian moot
Absolute HARAM. I was really hoping it’d be a nice shooter while also being sexy. 1500 is a bit much just for sexy, but god damn I’m sick of all the polymer shit. I guess I’ll just get a decent 1911 and a red dot for my G19.
>a nice shooter
It's alright in that regard, it's not as snappy as a P38 but it's like nowhere near as pleasant as a Sig or Beretta or CZ for example. I also wouldn't call the trigger unforgivably shit, I think it's pretty middle of the road maybe even kind of good. DA is relatively smooth and pretty light while SA is a little creepy but not overly heavy and has a longish reset, SA is really similar to a USP actually but DA is much better. For a single stack though she thicc cuh pic related
You can get a hell of a shooter for that $1,500 in another gun m80, something that will cream a P5 in virtually every way.
I tell you hwhat, if all you want is a great range gun that's metal with hecka features, find a new CZ Shadow 2 online for under $1,100. That's the most gun you're going to get for the money, and it looks pretty great too. Leave the NIB P5s to suckers with more money than sense. If you see a P5 for under $1,000 though that's a good buy unless it's frickin THRASHED.
It’s funny that you mention the Shadow 2 because that’s what I’ve been looking at for the past couple weeks after I got to dick around with one. I originally got my G19 to get into some competition shooting, plus I got it blue label with all the fixings. But it still flips around a bit for me to be super fast with it, which is what I’m going for. I’m kinda hitting that wall of knowing exactly what I want after having so many guns, but the guns that meet what I want ain’t cheap.
>You can also like tinkering with a stock frame though.
Yeah, but you can't really change the grip angle the way gen 2 polymer 80 does.
I have a 2 double stack striker handguns. Looking to buy a handgun that is good for carry and innawoods (blackbear not grizzy). And that has ammo that is cheap and easy to reload. Between a gp100 .357 and a 10mm ria, leaning toward the wheelgun so I don't have to pick up brass. Thoughts?
Thats a tough choice but ammo will be easier to find and be cheaper for the GP100.
So looking around a bit, peoe say .38 Special doesn't seem to offer much over 9mm while ammo is more expensive. How true is this? I was considering a humpback Ruger wheel gat in .38sp but don't want to bother if this is true. Much rather just get a 10mm or something.
.38 is usually a little more expensive than 9mm. Get a .357 though. Then you can shoot both.
I didn't even know Ruger made a humpback .357. How is pic related?
Ouch. Pain.
Lol. Wrist numbing recoil aside of course, the gun is reliable? I would shoot .38sp put of it for the range but keep some decent HP .357's in it for home defense/carry
Euro here
Is it possible to get some lessons at a range, if I’m on vacation in the US?
They'll usually make you fill out a shit load of paperwork, but many ranges offer classes and gun rentals for range fun. I've seen like bachelor parties and such go to the range to shoot 5+ guns. I'm unsure how it would work for a non-citizen though. Maybe need to bring a Visa/passport with you.
It depends on the state and range.
Get an sp101 instead. Handles .357 way better than the LCR and .38 feels like .22
you have shit taste in grips
Yeah b..but muh humpback
you can get it with a bobbed hammer
Nice find
that's gorgeous. I'll def take a look now. Thanks user
Probably as long as you can prove that you are an adult. The rental ranges I’ve been to in Pennsylvania are very casual and just ask to see your ID.
I'm torn between getting a p938 or both an M&P shield 2.0 and an LCP II for around the same price. Help me decide Jow Forums
I don't like lcrs because the trigger has some funky shit going on where if you start to take up the slack (say clearing rooms in your house if you come home and the door is open, nerves and all that) but then release it, the cylinder will rotate without firing and skip a chamber. Lighter pull than a j frame though. If you're willing to practice I'd recommend the 642 pro which is the all steel .357 j frame with better sights. And obviously the weight helps with .357 recoil
pretty slow in here huh?
Which is the better ccw? P2000sk or USP compact?
USPc looks a little longer than the P2000sk, but does that really matter?
P2000 it's thinner, and i'mho that's the biggest factor in comfort and minimizing print
What's are some of the best 9mm handguns for CCW? Price range of up to $800. Would prefer if the gun can carry at least 8 rounds, prefer more. Also, I got big hands, so absolutely tiny micro guns are a waste
Question for Burt:
Which is the better gun, the Px4 or the p01? Thinking about a winter carry gun, thanks
Walther PPQ or H&K VP9
Great triggers, plenty concealable, and excellent ergonomics
Do you prefer subcompact, single stack, full sized, etc?
It's really hard to fuck up a handgun purchase these days. Most manufacturers make reliable 9mm handguns.
No, they really aren't. Anyone who buys a .22lr handgun modeled after or is suppose to look like a duty caliber gun is retarded. They will all break much faster. Blows my mind any of your retards suggest them. Then again they're all cheap so maybe it's just the poor fags
I'll take a look thanks
Yes and that's what makes it so hard to choose. Seems there are so many reliable options to choose from all over the price scale. I'd prefer a larger sized handgun while still being able to conceal easily enough as I have large hands and don't want to scrunch my hands around a tiny Glock 43. Single/double doesn't matter so long as it goes bang reliably and can shoot fat hollow points 9mm
The pastebin in the OP breaks down good choices in different price brackets. If I were you I would look at things like the glock 19, M&P 2.0 compact, FN 509 midsize, cz75 p-01, cz p-07, or beretta px4.
>recommending CZ
Enjoy your broken slide release and trigger return spring!
OH NO PARTS WEAR OUT ON A FIREARM
Feel like pure shit just wish the P88 was far more popular and affordable
fucked up that inexpensive police guns based on a WW2 period design are worth so much
If I have an hk in .40 that I want to convert to .357 sig, but I have no idea how many rounds have been through it, am I asking for a broken gun? Got it used with some finish wear but it seems to function flawlessly now on .40. Just don't want a gun that might be more broken in than I think shitting the bed under higher pressures
Love shooting my jericho 941 but 9mm can be pretty costly. I've been eyeing a tanfoglio 22lr conversion kit, but I've never converted a firearm before. Is this a good place to start? Anything I should know/avoid?
9mm is cheap as fuck. Buy in bulk.
But to answer your question: youtube
Not here it isn't. I'll go check out some vids then, just wanted to know if this was a waste of time.
Not Burt but I’d go with the PX4 for winter personally. The winters here get in the -40s and metal frame guns can be mighty cold, even under outerwear.
The gun will be fine senpai. Plus most guns that you buy will have less than like 2000 rounds through them since most people don’t actually shoot a lot.
.22 conversions can be pretty annoying, with figment problems, reliability issues and costing as much as a dedicated .22 pistol in some cases. If it were me I’d just get a .22 pistol to practice with, since it’s be about the same cost and it’d be a lot more reliable.
That is something I've always wondered with those clip holsters, how are you really supposed to carry a gun like that?
Are you supposed to not have a round in the chamber?
makes sense, thanks for the input
Anyone here have any experience with STI? Were their standard (non-doublestack) 1911s any good? Might be able to pick up a discontinued Tactical model at a decent price, worth it or no?
Didn’t see a revolver-specific thread so I’ll ask here. I’m looking to pick up either a Ruger Super Redhawk in .454 or a S&W 500. I plan to use it mainly for target shooting, no hunting. I already own a Redhawk in .44 Mag. What does Jow Forums recommend between the two? Price isn’t an issue. I like SRH but I’m afraid that finding ammo in .454 is going to be even more difficult/prohibitively expensive than finding ammo in .500.
Definitely go for the .454 Super Redhawk. It can shoot .45 Colt too, which makes it even more versatile. More ammo options = more fun.
Plus you'll have a matching pair. .44 Spl, .44 Mag, .45 LC, and .454 is a lot of versatility out of two guns. You shouldn't have any trouble finding SOME way to keep them fed.
Get an X-Frame in .460. Can shoot:
>.460
>.454
>.45lc
>.45 schofield
>.45acp with moon clips (at least 1 variant of it is pre-cut for them but may be a Custom Shop gun, can't remember)
I appreciate the input, I’m probably going to go with the SRH .454. Thanks!
I like it. Space-gatish.
When you coming and where?
If it's Colorado, I'll let you shoot my personal collection.
I got one in college, antibiotics cleared it up quick.
goddammit, lol
calling all burts calling all burts
pls halp
How do you do, fellow kids?
How bad is your winter? Metal frame sucks when it's retardedly cold, PX4 is better in that case. If you winter is just an excuse to carry something bulkier under one extra layer, get the see zee. Or don't, because the PX4 has a better trigger anyway. Get the P-01 if you have a raging hard on for a metal frame gun and/or have the time and money to get CGW or CZC to turn it into something magical. If you want something g2g out of the box, get the Langdon PX4, done.
The Spartans and Trojans were great guns, if you can find one for reasonable money (getting harder all the time) I'd jump on it.
I have a high power which is sexy but mor or less performs like a metal g19(shit trigger).
thinking about to replace the hp since i already got glocks snd getting cz75 instead. shadow one or two, what should i get?
try a bunch, pick the one you like
I thought I hated CZs until I picked up a Shadow 2. Fell in love instantly.
Is this supposed to be for competition? Is it viable for carry if you like big guns? What's the major draw? Seen so much hype about this gun but I don't understand the purpose
