Recently a lot of civ shooters in the US are buying tactical gear like ballistic helmets and plate carriers n stuff. And running really decked out rifles with variable mag scopes and suppressors I have no problem with this but imo it's just airsoft but instead of shooting at eachother with plastic bbs they're just shooting at steel. What's your opinion anons?
its normal imho. people buy expensive sports cars but cant handle the power or even do one proper lap on a track. its the same here people dumping money on a hobby.
James Gomez
The US wasn't even supposed to have a standing army, all able bodied males are in the militia and expected to be prepared to act in the defense of the nation. There's no reason civilians should not have access to anything that the average infantryman has. All Americans citizens should be armed and equipped like soldiers.
Cameron Ramirez
I like it with respect to gear but I can't get past the "I once saw a CIA guy in a photo wearing this" clothing choices. No matter how Jow Forums you are, plaid button ups and cargo pants look like utter shit on you. Either get some proper camo for your environment or invest in some stylish athletic wear, don't larp as an armed Al from Home Improvement.
Luis Cox
This guy is the only person who’s a bigger faggot than op
Jonathan Taylor
Honestly I play airsoft and in to firearms just as much.
Airsoft has a place, as long as you find a good crew, for sure. Theres nothing really on this earth thats as good as a CQB trainer.
And if you disagree, well the National Guard and many many police orgs are using it, and have been for more than a decade.
That honestly probably explains why they are such gear whores though.
You usually grow out of that, though. Huh.
Matthew Baker
Civil war part deux is gonna be a bloodbath when we’re just as armed as the military and urban combat takes hold. Onwards to Valhalla
Dylan Lopez
Run the course in a tux with the gear over it.
Ever watched Cowboy Action Shooting? That is a LARP and is part of the rules.
Jace Martin
Boomers that grew up watching The Lone Ranger buy SAA’s for cowboy action larping once they get to a point in their life they can afford expensive hobbies The dudes that played Counterstrike when they they were teenagers want to be Counter Terrorists with tricked out M4’s Fortnite zoomers will want suppressed SCAR’s
Nathan Johnson
It a bit faggoty imo, but whatever floats a guy's boat. An ammo vest, headset, and oakley's is too much larp for my tastes especially if im just plinking.
Thomas Nguyen
Yeah I'm into airsoft too and have to confess I've spent more money on it than I should have. I just find it odd how the tacticool civs tend to shit on airsofters for "shooting plastic pellets" when they're really doing a similar thing
Adam Powell
Why does this twink need to wear a mic to shoot steel plates from 10 yards away?
Zachary Clark
I would assume the microphone is not removable and he is using the headset for hearing protection
Because he's all about image and he's selling a product. You realize the little faggot makes (incredibly shit) holsters right?
Cameron Long
Blue flannels and tight jeans are what fags at a gay bar wear. >t. Fag that wore that same outfit (but better fit) in my 20s when hoping to get stuffed full of cock.
Robert Gray
>training with a drop leg holder when all you do is concealed carry >not prioritizing handgun training over rifle since you won’t have the latter on your person 99% of the time
It’s retarded. They use gear they never wear outside a range and neglect the equipment they should be practicing with. Anyone with any real kind of training or experience cringes at this shit, regardless of what Jow Forums says
No we don't, this guy is weird but its America so rock on with ya bad self.
Benjamin Reed
Also experience is dumb in this argument, literally everyone including the most badass delta sas wermacht seal was an inexperienced greenhorn at one time or another. Train for ccw, train for the red wave, train for mad max. You will need training and a good mindset and once you survive a few close you will have experience just like anybody else. Last time i checked being in a gunfight isnt a prerequisite to be in combat arms.
>Recently a lot of civ shooters in the US are buying tactical gear Were you in a coma for the last 10 years? Asking for a friend.
Carson Cook
This is the goofy shit. If you care about your life you should be training pistol and grappling
Connor Rogers
So slav suits?
Gavin Johnson
yeah but that was before niggers and mexicans were "citizens"
William Morales
good that people have guns & gear, good that some people shoot w/ their equipment
any genuine practice is good practice, and it just might help an user stay alive or help others someday, especially if user has a training regimen (dry-fire, cc technique, hd technique & tactics, etc.) putting time & effort into training is everything, really getting regular training from experts should be a goal for these kindsa dudes, imo
These guys seem like fags and tards really, but I support anybody who likes guns and wants to shoot them and doesn't want them banned. I don't care if they're a pretentious douche, if they agree that everyone should be able to own weapons they're good with me.
I do think playing dress up larperator is absolutely obnoxious, though, and that these people and veterans/active duty guys should think about trying to look normal while they do this shit instead of trying to look like an action movie character, but if that's what makes them want to be into guns in the first place then so be it. I'd rather they get to cosplay as Euro cops responding to a terrorist attack in a major metropolitan area or whatever they're going for than that they don't shoot guns at all.
This, it’s not a dumb idea to actually get yourself ready for potential use as a militia man. No matter how unlikely it might be, you never know. But it’s not bad to get Jow Forums, learn how to shoot, and learn small unit tactics for this reason. People who critique are either on the left of center and think they are weird because muh evil guns, and people on the right of center hate it because “stolen valor, your not a real warfighter, you don’t know what it’s like.”
Matthew Cook
I think the people who make these kinda threads are the type of fatbodies who sit at a bench when shooting or magdump their PSA AR into a tv in the desert
Logan Edwards
Were you a thicc trap thot?
Jacob Foster
>cringe I fucking hate reddit and reddit mentality so god damn much.
It can be cringe, but I don't care if they want to wear that stuff. It's their money and their style, to each his own. I'd rather have them than limpwrists who cry about how >"muh gun culture is toxic and bad for muh democracy" I may buy a plate carrier in the future for Boogaloo, but don't really feel inclined to be full gear queer/tactictard when I'm a neverserved. Owning that, in my case, gives me impostor syndrome.
Cameron Stewart
There is literally nothing wrong with owning guns and gear and having fun learning to use them. Granted for actual guerrilla operations gucci gear and rifles aren't that great of an idea considering you want to be able to toss all your military shit into a river after you do a hit and blend back into the civilian world so expensive gear will just hurt more to get rid of, but for fun and recreation it's fine and ultimately you're still learning the fundamentals.
>what is caching weapons for later use >what is operational rallypoints
Jeremiah Ramirez
its just gear that serves a purpose. these larping accusations are stupid.
Evan Roberts
It doesn't serve a purpose. Standing around in a plate carrier and skinny jeans and an expensive headset and shooting steel really fast with a gucci rifle is fun and if it gets more people into shooting it's good, but that's the only practical purpose it serves. It's a larp and so are you.
Levi Smith
what do you mean it doesn't serve a purpose, its good to wear a plate carrier to get used to it >skinny jeans so if he swapped it out to camo or some shit, you would have less issue?
Aiden James
>he doesn't have a cave >he doesn't live in Appalachia Rest in pupperoni
Logan Carter
>It doesn't serve a purpose How do you expect me to become warlord of the suburbs then? Fucking faggot.
Jace Taylor
>implying larping is somehow bad and isn’t fun
Christopher Gutierrez
For actual insurgency, you'd want to learn to make explosives before you learn to operate.
Jason Reed
>what is urban warfare
Juan Reed
I have a set of comtac 3s like he is wearing and the mic totally is removable. That being said, there's no real reason to take the mic off when you go to the range except being afraid of what other people will think.
Jack Nguyen
Wasting a full infantry squad via perfect L-shaped ambush being initiated by ied will always be better then just killing one or two with just an ied
what is that gay shit from and why is the kid on the right wearing a black sun t-shirt
Juan Rogers
It's the "Guardians of the virginity" gang, you do NOT want to mess with them!
Jason Gonzalez
>that black sun shirt
Sebastian Reed
how do you avoid reconnaissance though, that seems easier to do in the city
Evan Lee
Hide and seek Become the trashman
Matthew Cruz
Like foot patrols? Or drones? For foot patrols, your the insurgent, so it’s your fault for not having a bunch of civs as spies giving you constant information on the enemy. As for drones, just have manpads and AAA.
Matthew Morgan
Most places that do live fire training in shoot houses require armor, though it's not a bad idea to grab some plates and a decent plate carrier expecially now that you can get a good set up for $350~ with level IV plates. As for decked out rifles, I think sling, light, and optic are pretty standard. Lpvo lets you shoot really fast and precise up close (ideal for home defense) and also lets you get a closer look at people to tell what they're up to (ideally you won't be glassing randos with your rifle scope but if shits getting weird I'm not going to go find my binoculars)
Hudson Diaz
I don't like them. Arrogant, self-indulgent pricks who bought up all the ammo after Sandy Hook and surplus stuff, with nothing left for anyone else. Hope the feds get them first.
My opinion is you sheeple will never understand. It's up to the sheepdogs to protect the flock.
Hunter White
>variable mag scopes Boomer detected. BAW GAWD THEY GOT VARIABLE MAGNIFICATION. ALL I NEED IN DAT DER NAM WAS A 4X I TELL YOU HWUT *sip*
William Perez
>using Lucas as an example of cringey tacticool civvies
lmao this kid can handle a rifle better than most active duty personnel, fuck off boomer.
John Lewis
It's cringy as fuck.
Cameron Nguyen
Go away, Lucas.
Charles Williams
Remember when he DNF'd that shooting match because his noodle arms couldn't lift a 90 pound sand bag?
Ryder Miller
>anyone with "real training"
>uses the word cringe
>cringes at an instructor that trains regular people and govt units including Ranger Regiment for both day and night courses
>shoots 10,000s of rounds a year
He shoots so much that blood tests have come back with excessive lead in it and hes started wearing a mask to protect himself.
It's time to step outside your basement
James Bailey
>govt units including Ranger Regiment for both day and night courses
lol wtf rly?
Justin Scott
>trains regular people and govt units including Ranger Regiment for both day and night courses
HAHAHAHAHA
Dominic Reyes
You are absolutley correct.
Luis Thompson
>He shoots so much that blood tests have come back with excessive lead in it this cant be real
Jayden Ward
I sort of lost it as first world terrowave >be into streetwear style >get chestrig >get af1s >get all the Instagram points It’s catching on so soon we can all walk out with plate carriers in military surplus and fit in with normal society which is kind of weird
that and get into shape, and get to know our, for lack of a better term and in the biblical sense "neighbors" AKA fellow man.
one of the things I learned about the founding fathers era was that the militia drill days were really, really big things. it was like a quilting bee for men to get drunk, run laps, joke around, and shoot the fuck out of stuff. shit sounded like hella fun. you socialized, got your guns serviced by the local gunsmith if you had one, you broke a sweat together with your bros, you practiced with each other as friends and a community, because no one man is an army unto himself. they understood this because of how things were back then, and they didn't hide from reality.
there was a journal that was published from that era where the guy was from virginia, it was published in the 1850's, but written in the mid to end of the 18th century. He would have fit in with Jow Forums seamlessly. DAD? IS THAT YOU? >THE ABSOLUTE STATE OF POORS!
James Adams
P L U M P L U M P
Ethan Richardson
It is. And the more insane part is he mostly shoots outdoors. That's a fuckton of rounds, because it's usually only seen in indoor shooters. I hate that fucking lanklet, but you gotta respect the round count. He's probably on par annually with miculek, if not more.
Nolan Stewart
This desu.
Grayson Reed
>Fortnite zoomers will want suppressed SCAR’s My nephews are actually saving money for SCARs right now. they're 10 and 13.
the younger one wanted an actual gold one till I showed him how ass they look like in real life. now he wants a cerakoted one, or FN blue anodized
Isaac Phillips
I don't understand the bottom pic. His score in what? School? Shooting comp?
Cameron Campbell
Atleast they would be training and getting good with their rifles.
Unlike the majority of Jow Forums and the vast majority of gun owners.
Isaiah Ramirez
>Recently a lot of civ shooters in the US are buying tactical gear like ballistic helmets and plate carriers n stuff >tactical gear like ballistic helmets and plate carriers n stuff >pic is an example
It's a dude with earpro and leg holster... he has literally none of the things you mentioned lol
I'm down to let these motherfuckers do whatever they want, it's a hobby, and one that has theoretical practical value... it's literally no different than a one enlistment 68W deciding to go and buy this shit. Almost no one NEEDS to train like this... unless you're with Group, then training in sick baseball caps is a pre-req.
No he actually broke 180 which is common to newbies not familiar with competition. 90lbs is doable even for noodle arms as pretty much any male can lift his own bodyweight without any training assuming they aren't a tub of lard.
Isaiah Smith
Except airsoft is 1/100th the cost for 90% of the performance. Simmunitions would be dead if it wasn't for much LEO only fuck kid games mentality. Everyone competent is going airsoft.
Jordan Barnes
No he couldn't complete the physical aspects of the match and failed because of it.
Ian Thomas
>As for drones, just have manpads and AAA. where are you gonna get manpads and aaa as an insurgent in america
i understand defectors, black market, other states "enemy of my enemy is my friend" and looting the dead, but lets say you didnt have all that shit
see guys with 10K plus spent on their rig and guns, then they have trouble hitting targets past 100m even with the scope on max magnification.
Then they come up to me after I run the same COF with an iron sight 700$ m4gery and think I am some sort of wizard for being able to hit all the targets at 300m.
simunitions are way better then airsoft... not even close.
if it wasnt so expensive, it probably would catch on recreationally, but its the best training out there which is why only mil LEO use it.
not bashing airsoft, it is maybe a good intro to tactics, but ballistically its way far off.
Grayson Butler
I'd rather have that stuff and never need or use it rather than need it and never had it. Besides that, the plate carrier is a great weight carrier for training at the gym. The helmets are great for riding bikes with. Variable zoom scopes are fantastic for hunting with. High cap mags are great for ammo storage. So on and so forth. You just sound bitter and angry, user. Who hurt you?
