How could someone such as myself living in western Jew York go about getting an AK? Is there a cuck state version?

>AKS
>"Direct" from mainland China..

Not Type 56...Sad.

anyone want to see the Darra adam khel Aks?

Update: I'm still poor and still have a shitty AK

Attached: ak1.jpg (1920x1440, 800K)

Same, I have two to finish now: slant back in 5.45 and factory folder in 7.62.

Your mommy should have swallowed.

Attached: 00006IMG_00006_BURST20180715131234_COVER.jpg (1613x1210, 2.3M)

Nice, wish I got a 5.45

I got myself a MAK90 with a thumbhole stock. It's fucking cracked, and I want to replace it with a pistol grip and new stock, to make Californians jealous. I got a stamped receiver, so fit shouldn't be a problem. Which furniture would you guys recommend? I prefer wood, because muh aesthetic.

I think there's a vice article about the author buying an AK in New York City. If a soiboi like that can do it, surely you can find a seller too.

Thicc

Makes me wonder how much were bakes back in the day.

Attached: Bakepepe.jpg (860x1024, 149K)

thats one project thats been on the back burner for a while. my 5.56 vepr is already an abomination so i was thinking jmac front sight/gas block combo, barrel cut to 16" and threaded. kns adjustable piston and ill be able to shoot it suppressed

>Go back in time
Everyone else:
>"Dad, here's a winning lottery number. Play it next week"
Me:
>"Buy bakelite magaiznes. Use my college fund. Take out a loan. Sell my kidney when I'm born. But buy them all."

I always kinda liked that weird fsb

Attached: 3493F26D-0C8D-452F-853C-6A6E71EEFE1E.jpg (960x960, 163K)

It kinda sucks when you have to remind yourself to adjust for inflation. The comparison isn't always so rosy. In a lot of cases, we're getting better deals.

Personally I quite like it the way it is. I would suggest finding a way to mount a suppressor on it now and throw in a kns. That gas block doesn't look like it would pop too bad.

What are your guy's thoughts on Kreb's Custom's AK's?? worth the money or overpriced?

>Doesnt invest in Gold or Silver
>Invests into Bakelite magazines

People are paying up to $150 a magazine now, and they were going for $20 several years ago. Definitely not a bad investment.

part of the issue is the barrel length. its something weird, like 20.5", i cant remember. anyway, i figure while doing other stuff to it, i might as well chop it. 20.5" + can = loooong and heavy.
anyway, who knows. like i said, its one of those things i put off for years, so much that might never get done.

Too bad I miss that train.
Atleast steel stamped is still decently priced... for now.

how did you get a spiker on that AK? was it an SKS bayonet?

Your less creative than a 5 year old, at least they are just fucking retarded due to age. You sadly don't get that benefit of the doubt, fag boy.

The fuck is that, a Chinese NPAP?

You're pretty much limited to Ironwood Designs or original Chicom furniture, and both cost the same nowadays.

can someone tell me how to install the top of a new wood handgaurd, I dont want to ruin my new wood.

Attached: 0c3.png (540x470, 333K)

Literally nothing you've created is worthwhile, Vincent. Keep buying expensive shit to flex on the poorfags, but that doesn't give you any appreciation for art or a personality.

I know that feel

set in the wood covering the bottom the of gas tube, use a crescent wrench on the flats that slide into the sight block, and hold the wood while turning the gas tube with crescent wrench.

once it snaps in it doesnt want to turn, im afraid to file anything because im an ak newfag.

Poorfags will rise up soon brother inshallah

either sand the wood or use >Manlet strength to force that bitch. My russian wood was xtra tight on a wasr.

try a little oil on the wood and inside of the retainer. I usually hold it wrapped in a towel and crank it with a crescent wrench

thanks guys, I used my noodle to combine sanding and using some oil to get it in there, holy hell was that tight.
Also does anyone know how to recreate the finish on these handgaurds? I know they are of Polish origin.

What's a good price on an OPAP these days? Specifically, I would like one with surplus furniture and sights as well as a nice bore (like pic related). How can I tell the difference between commercial and surplus features?

minus my buttpad thing, our rifles are almost identical in terms of parts

i wish i had another AKM to keep as a woody fixed stock boi

I should buy an AoA kit and have it built. Something with dimples would be neat.

Excuse pic quality, it's from 2012.

post your ak user

Just a groundhog.

Anyone have luck with croation mags. Looks like I need to grind the ones I bought from Apex.

If I do will you suck my pp?

That's fairly common. They're a mixed bag. Some fit well in some of my rifles but those same ones will either be real loose or real tight in other guns.

Alright fellas. I’m getting my Arsenal 107R back ok Friday from being repaired under warranty and I realized that I really don’t have a need for it now that I have two other nice AK’s.

Is now the right time for me to sell it since I literally just got it back from the factory, or will this model go up in value in a couple years despite being Arsenals worst model ever? I’m leaning on selling it and buying a WBP pistol kit.

Attached: image.jpg (640x839, 520K)

I'd say don't invest in the ak you'll just sit on hoping for it's value to raise. Get something you'll shoot and enjoy regardless of it's future growth potential.

Good point. Now that you mention that, I really don’t shoot my Romy G either. Maybe I should sell that too towards the WBP pistol and eventually a 74 build. Having three different 7.62x39 rifles is kinda silly of me because now I only ever want to shoot my favorite one.

I’ve never sold one of my guns before though and I don’t want to end up regretting it after the fact.

Recreate? Or just re finish? Just go buy whatever color stain you like, and then either top it off with some tung/linseed oil, or a spray on poly if you're feeling lazy. Or impatient

Oh and sand the hell out of it. If you aren't used to wood finishing it may look like you've sanded off all the old finish, but you probably haven't. Be careful not to round out the edges of the handguards too much while sanding or it will look goofy.

And they're both shit, imagine that.

The only guns you should regret selling are those with historical value and those that you sold because you needed the cash. Everything else can be replaced and if you aren't loving it, then it's time to find it a new home.

Different strokes I guess, but I sold my Jericho to get a converted saiga, and while I love the AK, and it's one of my favorite guns, I still kick myself in the ass for selling that pistol.

Why is it denoted as "aks" if it doesn't even have a folding stock?

>What's a good price on an OPAP these days? Specifically, I would like one with surplus furniture and sights as well as a nice bore (like pic related).
$800-$1000

>How can I tell the difference between commercial and surplus features?
Your picture is the most "surplus" OPAPs ever got:
>Surplus furniture
>Flip-up night sights on the rear
>Cutout for night sights on the front
>No BHO notch in the selector
That's pretty much it. Later OPAPs lacked these parts and had parts from the NPAP line replacing them.

Over priced kit build. Probably better than RD, but still way over priced

>I'd like to take sold because you needed the cash for $100, Alex

The s is probably for semi auto

I'm the guy that originally replied to you, just that once. We are surprisingly similar, I sold my Jericho as well to fund something. Should've just saved up, I still miss that thing.

>krink + cobra
Love it bro

Attached: 1554407463048.jpg (732x461, 106K)

This is what I don’t want to happen if I sell my Arsenal or Romy G. Though I’m starting to get with the idea of quality over quantity when it comes to guns.

I used a little bit of BBQ paint on my Darkness Linear comp by RedHeat of Russia. The comp itself is built like a tank but the anodized finish scratched easy.

"Wow! That turned out great!", I thought. I also thought I'd touch up my own AK itself. I carefully prepped and did so...but I didnt like it. It turned out just a tad too gray for my taste.

I remembered reading that Arsenal's crap paint finish actually holds up to acetone so long as you dont dunk it in, so I took a rag and wiped the BBQ finish off. Unfortunately, I ended up taking off some around the magwell section of the receiver and the gas tube.

Should I have the gun refinished or just leave it as is? Does it look weird to you guys? I just want some opinions, thanks.

And yeah, I know I'm a retard for using acetone, lol. But I had already planned on refinishing it in the future after two more years of hog hunting with this rifle. The mesquite trees can be pretty rough on a finish.

I have no plans of selling this rifle, so "collectability" and originality mean nothing to me; this rifle is a tool. I just worry about the metal rusting without finish. Just thought I'd ask /akg/ for it's thoughts.

Attached: 20190415_153807-3991x1940.jpg (3991x1940, 2.39M)

Other side. Not nearly as bad.

Should I just leave it or have it professionally cerekoted so I never have to worry about the metal rusting?

Attached: 20190415_153833-2016x980.jpg (2016x980, 997K)

Professionally

Get some "real Russian paint" and have a professional strip and paint it since you're clearly incompetent, but have enough money to burn

Imo it looks fine dude.

I don't know if it's the lighting, or if you actually have that gray parked. If not, you may want to throw some oil at it.

>average wage was roughly the same as today
Is this true? If so, that's fucking depressing as shit, man. Fuck.

It'll be fine so long as you dont leave water on it like a caveman.

Anyone own a ZenitCo PT-1? Do you like it?

Attached: 1507792868726.png (512x384, 128K)

Speaking of finishes, do wood furniture AKs in the classic dark bluing found on old hunting rifles look good? My gunsmith has a full set up and it's supposedly rarer to find a guy who does.

I need to know exactly what bluing you're referring to, because if he does Colt style finishes, I may send him a gun.

In fact I do own one and I do like it. Would you like to buy my extra one?

I haven't bought my parts kit yet and receiver but I'll look into it
