Sometimes I get my 5.11 jacket, a nice tactical balaclava and some active headsets to go for a run in the woods by the river at night. I feel safer with the headphones because I can hear anyone before they hear me. It's a nice getaway I suppose.

I do a fair bit of urbex in the catacombs of Paris. I'd need a good gas mask because sometime some fucker throws a fucking smoke bomb and its quite hard to breathe. What should I get ?
Also, is the Ghorka 4 BARS really warm ? It can get quite hot down there and I don't really want to move around with a big ass coat that I can't wear.

unironically get a GP5 gas mask, its one of the cheapest. But it all comes down to the filter, dont cheap out on the filter.

ask about camping in the desert and go out into the massive sand ocean you've got down there. Also, consider looking for websites with the locations of ghost towns in your area or look for abandoned factories in industrial zones. Those are always good candidates.

3m gas masks are the best on the modern market, and high quality filters of many ratings are readily availible. Consider carefully about going into underground areas, because gas masks won't protect you from asphyxiation if the air down isn't full of oxygen.

Also, post pics. You might actually make these threads entertaining for the first time in a while.

I do some cave exploring and once I noticed the air was getting thin. Buy some supplemental oxygen just in case, Im going to take a can with me next time I go. They arent that expensive too, usually $10-$20.

Do not fuck about. Take a fucking compass and a map, or learn to make a map. Preferably both. Tie some good, thick, sturdy string around something at your entrance and STOP WHERE THE STRING DOES. Tell someone where you are going and when you expect to be back. Tell SEVERAL someones, better yet. Underground areas of any description are the absolute last place you want to get lost.
