Gun mods

What mods have you done to your guns to make them better for you, user?
I replaced the bolt holding my little badger with a 5/16 dia quick release pin, makes it take down even smaller and faster.

No, some off the shelf part used as intended doesn't count.

Read the OP you stupid nigger.

Attached a ring to my rear take down pin on the AR.

Makes it easier to inspect for any random bits of coat hanger that may find themselves in the lower reciever.
>hate when that happens

Just a dab of yellow paint on the face of my front sight on an old pistol. Much easier to see against black "targets"

>couldnt figure out why you had two of those things done up exactly the same

I put a piece of bicycle tubing on my handgun's grip to make it grippier

for my 10/22 I rigged up a sling similar to pic related. the butt of the gun clips to your waist and the handguard clips to your shoulder, so you can walk around with your rifle with both hands free. actually, you can run, jump, climb, crawl, etc and the gun barely moves. it's pretty nice. to unsling you just undo the clips and voila, your rifle is in your hands. it also allows you to have a normal sling on there as well. the associated hardware weighs like an ounce and attaches to my backpack. cost me $0, I just used a bunch of random shit I had lying around.

Did you also paint it with feces?

>tfw bring badger to range
>kid with hi-point carbine says 'uh... cool rifle!'
>kid proceeds to move to another lane

i encountered a gunsmith who has a shop entirely dedicated to making a sort of breakdown glock, one that fits in your front pocket like a phone. the mag well kinda slides back and locks when you take it out. apparently he was selling them for like 3k. i dunno, maybe its a novelty people like

>mfw richie rich bought a ta31 for an ell dubs rifle with a bootlicker barrel

post pics or more info? sounds interesting

Not that user, but he might be talking about this

Attached: folding-glock.jpg (630x1420, 242K)

i couldnt take pics, but i did get to hold it and try it out. the handle/mag well slid parallel with the barrel to fold up, then you slide it back out. i think i recall the dude saying it loads a round when you lock it back into place. he had a team of like five or six barely legal brown women working on them, plus his wife.

Attached: welp.png (558x548, 7K)

same concept, but this guy's was less bulky than that, didnt have that folding gear/spring/trigger guard either.

I've taken a dremel to every poly gun ive ever owned bc literally zero mfgs give a shit about deburring/smoothing but thats as far as ive gone besides using an AR upper lapping tool
heh

I have so many questions and want to know if you had an SD9 or bought the slide

I taped a tube of uvpaqlite.com/Glow-in-the-Dark-Nuggets.html
These over my fiber optic. It stops bloom and aids the tritium in the dark.

Swapped the hammer from the normal Vaquero hammer to the Super Blackhawk hammer and removed the cylinder locking plunger so it can free spin.

Nah, parts kit from a "destroyed" crime gun. Sigmas are exactly as commonplace as you'd expect in that market.

Here you go buddy, I made you a diagram.

On my setup I added some straps to the rifle itself (they attach like those shoulder stock mag carriers you see on AR15's sometimes, one strap around the stock and the other going under the butt) so that the bottom clips would have something solid to clip onto. I've seen commercial versions of this setup where the bottom straps have their own 'cradle' for the gun to fit into (basically just a small bag shape that the butt of the stock slips into).

There is a real name for this but it escapes me at the moment. I looked at many commercial versions of this idea before I did my DIY.

Attached: Screen Shot 2019-04-20 at 10.44.56 AM.png (938x928, 235K)

I dont get it, why do literally ALL p80s have that gay trigger guard style

Oh and I should add that the straps themselves can be put on or taken off in about two seconds. They just attach to some D-rings that were already on my backpack - it's one of those maxpedition things with all the straps and rings all over it. You can probably find a way of attaching this to any backpack though, even just tying them on would work.

>.30-06 for yote
Ha fuck em up

I built an 18" AR for the express purpose of murdering yotes. But I've been known to kill them with random rifles just for fun. Killed one at ~200 yard with a carcano calvary carbine without a clip and while I was pissing.

You just made me smile and laugh friend, yeah in Mn they are just starting to yap at sunset, and they aren’t covered in ticks yet. Just wish I could use thermals, but I’m a good goy who obeys the game laws.

I'm from Ky and I've been the cattle protector since I was like 8. Used to use dads .22-250, then .25-06 when I got older. But now I've got a whole set up and everything.
Our cattle have been harassed lately by these black headed vultures, killing calves and shit.I kill a couple of those and use em for bait. Game laws are for fags :^}

That makes sense. Are you using hooks like the h&k clips?
Very cool though, I'm definitely going to consider doing this to at least one of my guns now.

Reminds me of a Kifaru Gun Bearer, only not bougie as fuck, I love it

I cut and stitched the sling on my shockwave, most of my guns have athletic tape on the grips, I paint any white dots with glow in the dark green, I cut a channel to make a fake glock sight on my LCP, and the light on my AR mounted in an ncstar 30mm scope mount with duct tape to make it fit

Attached: 20190407_100710.jpg (4032x3024, 3.01M)

band-aid fixes are not modifications

Literally the point of the thread, go to /gq/ if you want to show off your fresh out of the box toys

The pic I posted is the Kifaru Gun Bearer.

>bougie

What?

>That makes sense. Are you using hooks like the h&k clips?

Not sure what those are. The clips I'm using are the same type as pic related, but a little beefier.

>I'm definitely going to consider doing this to at least one of my guns now.

Well the nice thing is that once you get it right you don't even need to do anything to the gun itself, I only put the straps on my gun because I also used them to attach a small pouch to carry spare mags and a couple cleaning/takedown tools. You can easily create the same setup where everything is on the straps themselves and nothing is on the gun.

go back to the Lowes dumpster that you pulled all that trash out of and never come back

Did you use an angle grinder my dude what in fuck

I added a scope base
When you do this you must be careful to keep the base straight or the scope won’t be inline with the barrel.
Let me know if you need advice on materials

Thanks, I found that first one on a website for ants.

I saw where the government wants to ban gun with bayonet lugs. And since I don’t use a bayonet I thought I would just remove my lugs. Also as the added benefit of weight reduction. I guess I need to blue the metal, I tried to dye it back with a magic marker after I took the picture but the ink wore off.
At least I know my rifle won’t be banned.

in every case where a specific feature has been banned, guns that were purchased before the ban have been exempt from the ban requirements

you goofed, in other words

Yeah, the one closest to the cylinder is a little shallow. I might try to get them all to match.

I inherited my grandfather’s rifle when he died.
It was just a plain rifle so I customized it.
Notice the cary handle is gone, but I left the rear sight. And I cut the front grip down to size. I think it has a sporty look to it.

I would've used a dremel but all the power to you man. Affect the accuracy any? It actually looks really sweet in the big picture

I'm not sure how I feel about that fore end but it sure looks unique alright

I put a williams FP on my win94. Thats it.

I think I'm gonna buy one of those 1911 sarco parts kits and slide and put it together so I can have a 1911 without a shitty rollmark slapped on the slide. Are those hard to put together? will I need a bunch of special tools?

I changed the barrel too

Because that’s the trigger guard the frames come with? People aren’t choosing to put that there.

Short reach trigger
Fiber optic dovetail sights
Flat mag brake

>bougie
Black speak for "bourgeoise". Though they have no idea where the term came from, so I assume it originated in some reality show.

I safety wired my bho on my AR pistol because I didn't have a roll pin handy. Still there after 500 rounds but I wonder how much longer it'll last.

I love it*

Here's an idea. Instead of whining about other people's polymer80s, why don't you buy a polymer80 of your own, reshape the trigger guard to your liking, and post pictures in a gun mod thread. If you hurry, this one might still be up.

all that effort on a defective gun

glass bed all my funs.

More like deported your barrel.

From a thumbnail I thought it was a jatimatic.

Not sure what's worse, the bubba-bait or the newfags responding to it

I cut the FSB on my AR and made it a cheapo lowpro to put a free-float handguard on. I already have a government profile barrel and the block is taper pinned, so I figured it was better than trying to dimple and use setscrews. Adjustable gas key is next.

is that a vz folder?

I used to remove the stock magazine followers on my moms 380 pistols (she had like 3 of them and never used them but for purse guns)
and would put ones made out of sheet metal to fit an extra 2 or 3 rounds in it.
for whatever reason we had an abundance of 380 and I thought it would be more fun than plinking with 22.lr

Attached: 1518892953731.png (784x645, 36K)

Similar kludge extendo story.

>was 17-18
>had my Stevens 62 with four spare mags
>wanted extendos
>chopped off the top of one of the mags
>chopped off bottom of the other
>fused them together with shitty welds and lots of grinding
>joined the springs via interlacing and jb weld

It held 18 rounds and would feed with 100% reliability for 85% of the time.

the fuck does ANY of that mean

Cuts some clear grips out of acrylic

Cool, how did you do that?

rich kid bought an SBR barrel for his rifle i think?

I really freaking love the way you kept the rear site, user. Looks nice in the pic. Any other clearer pics?

good job, user. I've been thinking of doing this to one of my 45's but didn't have the courage. I just use some grip tape on it for now. Your post is giving me the balls to try, thanks!

Attaboy lad, fuck the gaytf with whatever falls out of the dumpster at home depot

Defective? Thing has served me very well over the years, only had it jam once and that’s because I was using an underpowered reload. What are common defects in the 742 autos?

Are you saying op is bubba bait?

I did something autistic with my Walther ppq q5 match and my sw99 in fowty. The striker seems to work correctly on both, I really have a burning desire to shoot them like this

Attached: IMG_20190420_213803759.jpg (4032x2268, 1.88M)

What the fuck is this. Where did the dust flap go? Why is there a reflex all the way up there? Why is the handgaurd so short leaving so much exposed gas tube? What in gods name are you doing?

Are you unaware of this meme you fucking retard

I do light gunsmith work. I have a Telegram channel dedicated to my projects. As time goes on I will have more and more interesting projects.

Here’s the link if you guys want to check it out: t.me/NATOsGunsmithing

They work perfectly, the only things that don't interchange are the magazines between the older P99 style and the newer PPQ M1 style mag release. But you can cut either magazine to fit the other. And the .45 SW99 won't mix with the .40 and 9mms.
