What is a fair price for an Arisaka Type 99? I'm looking for one to have at least the dust cover and the mum unscathed. I have yet to tap into the Mil Surp market.

>ib4 don't get one they explode
>ib4 you're a weeb!

I'm thinking of buying one of these while they're still around and cheap. Should I, or should I buy a Dreyse 1907?

Depends. You want mum or no mum? If no mum, gonna go for usually $250-350. If mum, add about $100 to that.

Quick point of order, is this unobtanium you wished you could obtain, or something you already have?

Here is my unobtanium: Parts for a .455 Webley

Has anyone else noticed that frame-safety Jericho 941's and CZ 75 pre-B's are back on Gunbroker these days? DWJ Imports has apparently filled in the big hole left by CDI when their warehouse burned down. Or maybe it's the same company under new ownership?

100 bucks, no joke
But the ammo costs will break you

Too poor to just buy the FS?

It's the general manager of cdi

I want one with the mum intact. And $100? Seriously? I know Gun Broker is a bad site to be looking at, but there are listings asking for at least $400 or more. Where can I find a decent Arisaka Type 99 without getting scammed?

Pricing a Luger. I saw an old forum post years back.

>Non-matching shooter: $600 to $700
>Matching with non-matching magazine: $1000 to $1400
>Matching with matching magazine: $1500 to $2000
>Matching with two matching magazines: $3000 to $5000

Is this still correct, I imagine prices have goine up at least $200 across the board. Is a mismatched shooter really worth $1000 these days? I won't even bother looking at jewbroker.

>Unobtanium
I literally have one from Classic sitting right next to me.

>tfw I'll never ever have one
Well, the local auction I was going to attend started today and it didn't go well for prices. The only thing truly in nice shape was an RC K98k and it ended up going for market rate at the cheapest option. Here's what they had and the hammer price
>m/96 with black paint for finish, $325
>type 99 long with a mid war, non chromed bolt, ground mum, no features, $350
>Remington P14, matching numbers but cracked stock and worn bore, $425
>type 38 with mum and pitted bore, $350
>CMP 1903A3 with Sling, $1300
>RC K98k, cleaning rod and sling, beautiful bore, $550
Note that this is hammer price and the actual price would include an extra 22% of the lot price, including sales tax, with the cheapest method of payment. Fuck this gay earth.

There will always be fudds overpaying for shit at auctions, and you will do the same when you're older become a boomer and have IRA money to blow.

Attached: 1555265008731.gif (248x291, 2M)

But these fucks don't even look to see if what they're bidding on is in good shape. They just pick it up, see how it feels, and if it has a pretty swastika, mum, etc. They don't even check for matching numbers, cracked stocks, or bore condition. I have never seen anyone ever bother to take the bolt out of a rifle to check if the bore of the rifle they're buying is a sewer pipe or not or even ask about the bore, they just blindly buy what they see at that moment, then complain about ammo prices. I hope to God I never become demented like that, though I hope to have the money to buy nicer things.

Attached: 1549833468840.png (435x512, 99K)

what parts do you need?

Why are you still going for shitty surplus a decade after the golden age? After 2015 surplus shit has gone through the roof, the only way the markets going to go back down is if "muh history" fags stop dishing out for the absurd pricing.

Unobtanium?

Attached: BUL - 1895-24.jpg (2560x1440, 1.17M)

I don't care about bores personally because I have enough guns that can shoot. I'm checking boxes on a list, not buying guns I'm going to compete with.

Attached: POL - Wz 29.jpg (2560x1440, 1.05M)

They're great, the only problem is you can't guarantee condition of these things. Every surplus handgun I've bought has been just a bit more beat up then I'd like. If you don't care as much about that or are fine with taking a chance I'd say go for it. If you just want a Beretta though I'd be inclined to say just throw another 150 or so and get an fs.

How does this jackass get people to overpay for everything he lists? I don't get it

Drove the five hour roundtrip and bought pic related. Hammer price was $400.00, comes out to a little less than $470.00 after tax+transfer+shipping. It's a postwar N series rifle, and it looks damn near brand near. Also came with a bunch o' accessories - a sling, a manual, a cleaning kit, and a refurb date slip.

Attached: IMG_20190420_103344_02.jpg (872x4160, 682K)

Nice~ Good looking raifu.

Here's a equally shitty photo of the accessories.

On vacation in a free state and looking to get a garand at a LGS.

I really don't want to get fucked when purchasing one. Anything I should look out for? Anything I should inspect thoroughly before purchase?

From my understanding I should be spending anywhere between 700-1000$ depending on the quality and/if it has some matching parts.

Anybody know a good price for an American Enfield?

>grey blanket
He shill bids

600 would be a good price I think.

Here come the Rasheeds and MAS-44s.

Attached: 2018 11 11 Rasheed (3MB).jpg (4656x2218, 3.35M)

wtf is this grey blanket term you keep using. i demand an answer

Not quite unobtanium, but damn do you not see many of them.

Attached: YUG - 1924.jpg (2560x1440, 1.01M)

Sreisel, that seller in question who shills bids his stuff, is known for always taking pictures of his stock on grey blankets.

Empire arms has two for 295 and 325

sreisel from Gunbroker, he uses a grey blanket as a background for his stuff. He has a constant stream of rare and impressive shit, but he also has been known to fake stuff and is widely considered to be a shill bidder.

Attached: DEN - 1889 Krag.jpg (2560x1440, 1.14M)

What about the Russian-used Japanese Type-30 that sold for $325?

i'm dumb. thanks

Pattern 1917, modified (broad pin instead of slim blade on the frontsights and cutout in the receiver for norse loading frames/clips) by the Danes and used on their Sirius Sledge Hound patrols on greenland.
luckily they didnt remove the backsights and replace it with a simlle notch like on a gvaer 52.
breddy rare in the p1917 branch.

Attached: 20171217_111408.jpg (3264x2448, 1.72M)

I looked it over and the bore was pretty pitted and dark, couldn't tell if it was matching or not. Not a bad price but it was in rough shape, bore wise. It was complete though but the premium brings that up to $400ish for something that won't shoot well at all.

Attached: 20190420_152233.jpg (1048x3312, 1.82M)

Type 30s were matched with an assembly number. Pic related.

That Type 99 long was a good deal too.

k 98 bnz 43, serial without letter prefix.

not that rare but cool.

Thanks for the pic pham; they use so much flash in their pics.
>the premium brings that up to $400ish for something that won't shoot well at all.
Probably ~$450 once it's shipped to me. I'm not too worried about it shooting well since it's more for my WW1 collection anyway.

Attached: Untitled_1.png (654x620, 31K)

my rarest pepe.
k98 for israel, receiver is from a vz24, bolt partly from a k98a, the rest is dou and dot leftovers bashed together by cz. rare because a kitbash over half of the mauser 98 actions history and because nazi eagles on a nose gun are always kinda funny.

A man of taste I see

On my Enfield mk1 no 4 if I push the bolt forward fast enough the bolt head jumps up and slams into the small rail piece (pic related) causing it to get stuck. I suppose in that small travel time in the bolt takedown opening it pops up for some reason. Anyone know how I could fix this?

Attached: 4D16D4C0-A9AB-44E1-8984-3A5724017635.jpg (3264x2448, 1.12M)

That's a No.4Mk1*. The cut out in the rail is to remove the bolt from the rifle. The bolt head is popping out for some reason.

I have a new gun. Give me precious (you)s.

Nice! Is it a WWII or a post WWII one? Which series?

Attached: IMG_1046.jpg (1514x1298, 547K)

Here's my rarest milsurp gat, I can't believe how expensive they are now

Attached: 20190114_222022.jpg (3594x1103, 3.09M)

A series I think. Already forgot.

And on the subject of rare guns....

Attached: 20190119_181259.jpg (3704x1054, 2.15M)

Are you sure? An A series would be kinda rare as that's a pre-armistice pistol. Do you have pics of the other side with the serial number?

This is probably my rarest gun. It's a 27th series Type 99. The first few thousand of this series, which mine is apart of, used a formerly rejected stock.

Here you can see the inletting for the early style barrel band and the screw holes will filled in with a dowel.

They filled in where the cleaning rod release button would have been.

чтo ecть?

No on hand no, I'll check when I get home.

They also filled in the cleaning rod hole with a dowel.

Where are the best places to pick up good milsurp in your guy’s opinions? Looking for a good 1903 Springfield. Is Gunbroker my only hope?

If your local gunshows are horribly overpriced, then probably.

Better deals are harder to find but also check Armslist. I've gotten a couple decent things from there.

Why do I have to answer this every thread?
He's a classic /msg/ meme

I remember when you got that

Here's my rare Spanish 8mm boi
Also, fuck people who outdid me on gunbroker. That makes me sad and they shouldn't do it.

Depends how badly you want something. Gunbroker is your best chance of finding one, but you're competing with most of the country, so prices will likely be higher. You can probably save money but spend time by looking at local shops and shows.

Have a few more brother, you made out at a good price for a type 30 if you're not looking to shoot it.

If you could only have one model of Swiss straight pull, what would it be? M96/11, K11, K31?

Another one

m1911

You know what, I guess this counts. Last year production tula SKS. no date on the dust cover, which is matching, but it has the tula star on the left side of the receiver. RIGHT WHERE SOMEONE FUCKING IMPORT MARKED IT

Attached: 20180922_163902-3265x1587.jpg (3265x1587, 1M)

Pic related is probably my rarest 'surp. Despite being a high-production year not as many examples as one would expect are recorded.

Thanks bae.

Kap did you buy that Michigan National Guard Remington-Lee 1899?

Don't fucking my blurry couch. I fucking hate California

I fucking would have if I had seen it. I'm mad about that still.

Last one, barely counts. First year production carcano 91/28 from the beretta factory. Not all that rare, but cool.

Attached: 20190103_153145.jpg (4032x1960, 3.9M)

no idea as to your question, however, do matching serial mags influence the gun's performance? i didnt know mags were numbered with their respective gun

My slightly rare boi:

Argentine 1909 Engineer Carbine, they made 10k they pop up occasionally

Attached: 1909p2.jpg (4160x657, 998K)

My SKS is the same way. Fucking sucks.

Attached: IMG_0178.jpg (1600x1200, 520K)

Matching mags depend on the gun. Many mags require feed lip adjustment before they'll work on a random surp gun. A good example is the Lee Enfield, mags were numbered to match and non matching mags may need adjustment

Attached: 20180921_183407-1940x3991.jpg (1940x3991, 2.03M)

Serial numbering on LE magazines was mostly a post-WWII thing.

What should I look out for when buying an SKS?

Charlie in the trees.

I care about bores because I just got into surp last summer so I need gats that I can shoot. That and beautiful bores are sexy to me.
Thanks, are all the photos you posted are the locations of the assembly numbers?
Looks awesome, m8.
No problem, bae. I hope to get a type 30 myself, just one with a nice bore so I can take it out every so often. The RC K98k was really nice, beautiful bore but it got way too high for my liking. At least I got to hold a Johnson for probably the only time ever. Hope you enjoy your "Type 38 Long Rifle".

Attached: 20190420_174442.jpg (870x3502, 1.51M)

What are some good cartridge based antique guns (1898) guns that I can buy without any paperwork?

>Thanks, are all the photos you posted are the locations of the assembly numbers?
No. There is also an assembly number on the bottom of the receiver under the stock.
>I hope to get a type 30 myself, just one with a nice bore so I can take it out every so often.
There is a good chance it wasn't bad. Arisakas used Metford rifling. More than once I have seen someone say a bore that is shit, when it was in fact immaculate and was just full of dust.

I'm pretty sure I saw pitting inside the bore near the muzzle unless I'm mixing it up with a Type 38 I saw. I know Jap rifles use Metford rifling, I own a Type 99 I bought from that same auction house that labeled the bore as dark and dirty when it was full of dust, lol.
