Go to pawn shop

>go to pawn shop
>old boomer is very friendly
>realizes I actually know my shit unlike his average mouthbreathing customers
>we hit it off and talk for an hour about milsurp
>mention $12 Krags in an old catalog I have and how it sucks that I couldn’t buy one back then
>”Ya know son, I have an 1898 barreled action that I saved from someone who wanted to make it a hunting rifle, I’ll give it to you if you want it. I’m too old to get around to restoring it”
>”YOU MEAN FOR FREE?”
>”I said give didn’t I”
It’s my birthday and he made my day. Thank you based boomer, you’re probably not on here but I’ll do you proud.

>uncle hired to clean out dead man's trailer
>surviving relative tells him set aside x and y, anything else you find you can have if you want it
>finds a bunch of guns
>uncle can't own because ex-con
>sells them all to my dad for a thousand or so dollars
>dad gives one or two to my other uncle, keeps a few, and gives me one of them
>a colt m1911 with property of U S. Goverment stamped on the slide

Trailer guy was in the military I guess, and bought his sidearm from them when he got out.

Post pics OP

See
I’ll post when I get it

Nah. It was from the lady's dad or something who had died long ago. I never even got to see EOD there

There are old guys out there like that.
My children were raised by a pacifist psych ex of mine and have no interest in guns.
My daughter in Law married a good guy that hunts and shoots.
Setting up a Family Gun Trust just so my stuff passes to them and my grandkids.
They live with us.
4 Bedroom 2 Master place.
I was worried for a while who I would give them too.
My cousins got my Grandfather's and Great Grandfather's guns.

Take care of that piece of history user.

I would’ve snatched that thing desu lmao

user, I hope someone will also preform the same act of kindness upon you someday.

Have faith that humanity isn't as bad as you think. People like OP posts about exist

I would have also. But this all happened when I was in grade school

How many wives have you had

>1898
>not C&R

No john, you are the zoomer

Wouldn’t that make it an antique too

Kek

Checked. Found the r9k regular

Based and dubspilled

It has its perks.
Local hardware store still sells ammo and licenses, sharpens blades and cuts glass immediately.
Free popcorn too.

Wholesome/10

>girlfriend's grandfather asks for help clearing out storage unit
>says he has some spare tools he doesn't want
>offers a drill press in exchange for help
>worth.png
>get to back of storage unit and find a reloading bench

>fuckyes.jpg
>gives me literally everything

>thousands and thousands of 357, 38, 44, and 30 carbine
>make joke about not having any guns in those caliber
>he says not to worry he has more
>pulls out another plastic tote
>thousands of 5.56, .308, 30-06 and .22-250
>dies for all the above
>then he pulls out another tote
>thousands of loaded rounds all marked with loading info
>literally thousands of $ worth of stuff
>all for 2 hours of lifting stuff for an old man
best day ever

If it did, then that is really good user

>Buy house.
>Old man neighbor, live alone, wife died years prior.
>Nice Guy, obviously lonely.
>I work nights, come home at 0730. Neighbor is almost always sitting out in his garage just watching the world go by.
>Becomes habit that I let my dog out and go sit with him for a bit a few times a week.
>Him one day: “You like guns right user?”
>”Sure do neighbor guy.”
>”Hold on a minute. I got a luger for you.”
>He goes inside, comes back out with a bundle of rags.
>Hands it to me and I unwrap it.
>Not a luger, but a C96.
>Says his uncle took it off a body in WW1.
>”You keep it user. Shoot the crap out of it.”
>Neighbor bro died a few years ago.
>Still have C96.

I had a boomer give me a barreled 10/22 action.
Not the same but still cool.
Some oldies are nice and don't have kids that will keep their guns after they die.

>and don't have kids that will keep their guns after they die
This realization is starting to manifest at my local gun shows. The last time I was at my local gun show there were four or five private seller boomers with multiple tables that had unbelievable collections priced REALLY well. I'm talking Steyr SA58 rifles for $1200, Imbel rifles at $900, Polytechs with boxes and manuals and shit for $3000 (Those go for $4500 plus on gunbroker). It was cool to see but it was also sad that these guys knew they didn't have infinite time and their kids would likely either get ripped off selling them to Cabelas or go full fag and turn these collections over to the cops for destruction. The time to get good deals isn't after the boomers all die, but instead just before.

You'd be surprised man. Old guys reach a point where they realize they can't take all their shit to heaven, and can't finish all their projects.

This

Post it faggot or else you are a Tumblr tier fag

This is something I've never understood about people who destroy antique guns. I get hating violence, and I get not wanting them. But how can you be so blinded by your hatred for firearms that you're willing to destroy relics of our history. Do people despise culture so much?

If you read my other post you’d realize I’m getting it Monday

pics?

Found one of those thick steel/wood benchs for gardens near the gun range in the trash. Wood was rotten but the metal parts made a mean new garden bench.

Hell ya

>waiting periods

>Used to work at a bakery.
>Old German guy came in every week on Tuesday. Ever. Week.
>Two loafs of whole wheat french bread.
>Always liked the way I made them.
>Got to the point where he only wanted me to make them.
>He was nice enough, so I asked to always be scheduled on Tuesday for this.
>He found out about it, and started giving me 20 dollar tips every Tuesday.
>Talk to him regularly.
>He was in the Wehrmacht during WW2. Joined before the war and made it pretty far before being captured by Americans.
>Occasionally he brought in some old photos to show me.
>Enjoyed America so much that he ended up coming over after the war. But bitches about all his kids and grandkids being lazy.
>Find out hes getting ready to move. Offered to help him.
>None of his kids show up to help.
>End up loading up his entire house with his neighbor.
>Get a hug from him right at the end.
>"You're a good man, user. You would have made a good soldier, we could have used more people like you in the world."
>T-thanks.
>Gave me a brand new jacket, one of those Yule log cakes and a fat wad of cash for the help.
>Few years later get a post card in the mail from him with a picture of him, also get one of his old service pictures.

No guns or anything. But he was a nice man.

Just two, the Ragin Cajun psycho ex, and my last wife that I met the day after my release. She was married at the time and I ended up dating one of her colleagues for a year. Three years later we were both single and met over at her former coworkers house who had decided to use me as a temporary fuck buddy again.
Well since F wasn't interested in anything long term, me and Mrs BGB hit it off and have been together ever since. It was fun getting fat together.
Kids are grown, house almost paid for. She can retire and draw her pension in 5 years. Told me to work part time after that. I will keep working though out of habit.
Maybe become the old fudd at the gun store myself...
Promise not to actually be a Fudd.

Makes me sick to see the disrespect for history and the blood shed by people that actually believed something was worth fighting for.
Tranny posters aside, Jow Forums has a bit of respect for history.
Too old to get worked up over sexual deviance anymore anyhow unless it involves nonconsensual contact or with minors.

My Dad pared his collection down to the first 22LR he got as a kid, the Remington Semi auto 20 gauge he bought when he was 12, My Grandfather's Old Marlin 60, my Grandmother's 38 Special wheel gun.
I need to check it out next visit and see exactly what it is. NICKEL plated with Mother of pearl grips but don't know the make or model.

HOPE OP gets the pics next week and the action can be saved.
