Modern gun in`

Jow Forums gunsmiths and armchair experts,
7.62x25mm Tokarev is my favorite handgun cartridge and I love the way it shoots, how plentiful and chap it is and how well it penetrates. How would one go about converting one of the modern, sub-compact, polymer guns to shoot 7.62x25mm Tokarev? Getting a custom barrel wouldn't be so hard but rest of the geometry might be..

Possible? Anyone have some ideas?

You're stuck with a 10mm sized frame to deal with the COAL, but beyond that and magazines there isnt a reason why you could not.

would all mags be too narrow?

Tok might be too long and also too narrow for off the shelf magazines. I've never tried, but it's a stringy longboi you're trying to fit.

When do you think classic will get the Romanian Tokes back in stock. Any chance more polish ones will be imported ?

>Tok might be too long and also too narrow for off the shelf magazines.
Yeah, that's my worry as well.

Sweaty Ben has at least 10 more crates he is sitting on to sell for $500 a pop in 5 years.

Fuck I want a polish tok so bad. I really hope they import more of this

By getting a .357 sig?

>By getting a .357 sig?
357sig is too short.
this is a tok round.

Bumping for Tok love. Where is my Tok Glock?

I've seen it somewhere and it was a 10mm Glock converted. The length of the cartridge was still an issue.

Could you use .311 Lehigh Xtreme Defenders (.32 ACP) in 7.62x25? They are a little oversized I think but you would get some crazy velocities and should punch through more than normal FMJ

I bet you could. Has anyone ever tried reloading Tok rounds?

Yeah, the magazine is one of the issues and so is the space between the barrel and breechface.

I've reloaded with 90gr Hornady XTP. Pretty much the only dedicated Tok bullet I can find

Isn't zastava getting ready to import new production tokarevs? If I remember right, they'll have frame safety's installed at the factory so they'll actually be a carry piece.

Also, I'm so super jelly of leafs and their access to China copies of 226's in 7.62.

No. It should feed from 10mm magazines with relatively few issues. You MIGHT need to use a mag pattern that allows you to tweak the feed lips for really good reliability though.

Reasoning:
>.22tcm works from unmodified .40cal mags although it does better from 9mm mags
>.22tcm works well from unmodified 7.62 tokarev PPS mags
>7.62 tokarev is a fatter cartridge than .22tcm (5.56 derivative/9mm rim diameter)

based

Modern pistol frames are generally either made for 9mm/etc cartridges' overall length, or for .45acp/etc cartridges' overall length.
7.62 Tok is notably longer than .45acp, and that will probably be the main problem.

the Tok mag fits 9mm and .38 super as well as 7.62x25. I have all three barrels and use the same mags

10mm is better

for what Paper targets?

For bears, 10mm hardcast / fmj has insane penetration

Its equal for feds, though the dagney dagger 10mm load might give 10mm the edge here in the future

For nogs (good 10mm jhps can expand to a full inch)

Tok really is fun to shoot, but there's no utility in having a tok glock. Just stick with classic tok pistols imo.

whens bear season

This: I've used those bullets too, although I had feed issues, I think the OAL was too short to hit the feed ramp properly, and I haven't had time to fuck around with a longer OAL yet.
