I havent shot my AK in over a year now and just took it out of my storage. I noticed down the barrel on the inside what looked like pitting and there was a bit of rust near the end. Everythjng else seemed smooth other than it being dirty.

My questions are thus: I was invited to the range this week and I said I'd bring my stuff. Can I safely shoot this fucker or what? What are typical repair/replacement costs for this?

Bretty decent. From my own experiences with Norinco I wouldnt call them fantastic but I wouldn't say they're poor by any means. I love chinkshit. Short/sloped stock isnt for everybody though. A straight stock brings your face to the rifle, but you'll notice a sloped stock helps bring the rifle to your face.

How much and who made it eg Polytech or Norinco?

The pistol grip should be fine, it uses a different lenght screw but you should be able to find those.
The lower handguard will most likely need fitting, and the buttstock will need fitting too whether or not your screws will fit in the rear tang im not sure

Zenitco PT-1 stock "repair kit" and "instructions" should arrive this week. Almost 4 weeks since I contacted Zenit about my broken PT-1. I know they can't control how slow shipping is, but it still isn't ideal. Hopefully it fixes the stock well.

I like the look except for the Krebs selector (why go US when there are plenty of good non US options?) and that muzzle device. What is the muzzle device?
Also what optic mount is that and what is going on there?

You can buy a valmet or build/buy a galil. Those are pretty much your only options. I wouldn't recommend putting a railed dustcover on an AK and mounting a picatinny rear sight on it.

Speaking of guns, heat shields on AKs are god-tier

This isn’t fun to either. I have no idea how to correctly assemble it. So I just start drilling it out to press fit and epoxy it together and the drill bit broke off in the rear of it. It’s probably fucked. Any ideas I will take some good shot talking too.

This just have the dimples option. I found this guy who I guess is getting out of AK building or it seems he just sold me all the stuff that was too difficult to work with. I got a whole bunch of random stuff enough parts to almost make two rifles maybe 3 “ minus a few important parts” that Building for practice and fun.

I like Valmets, I just don't like the concept of spending $200 per mag

TWS sells a rear peep sight for their railed cover, it's supposed to hold zero pretty well too.

Zenit makes one and you can get a ar buffer tube + folding adapter, that's about it for stuff that will fit on a fixed stock rear trunnion afaik

Apex has Galil ARM parts kits in and I'm tempted but everywhere I'm looking receivers are sold out and/or extremely expensive compared to what I'm used to being a person who's only built AKs and ARs.

Gas tube is weird. I don't like FSB/gas block combo on AKs as much, same goes for the AR buffer tube. Otherwise, I like it. I'm , so I don't really mind when AKs aren't traditional, as long as they're well-built.
