>aka modern Pro-Russian standard issue gear

kek

i like it more than the modern us gear

Attached: file.png (1200x800, 2.22M)

>implying anyone will get issued this except of a few units that wear it for pictures
Its like the polish army and the MSBS
So far only the "model army" use it

then post some pics of what the rest is wearing

those look like late 90s though. and wouldn't it make sense that a country with the economical power of italy but a much, much larger military and population would only equip it's soldiers with modern gear when they're actually going to deploy?

that pic is polish training exercise from 2017

Just by the availability of their gear in the black market, it is safe to assume that this is standard issue.

Attached: file.png (1200x800, 2.17M)

EMR is the most aesthetic camouflage pattern in existence, now only if Techincom and BTK would actually use the same dyes.....

Attached: 1555420291212.jpg (1200x800, 268K)

Attached: Russian special forces.jpg (324x196, 32K)

They introduce new dyes every years, so it seen.

Just look at this.

Attached: file.png (900x600, 1.13M)

yeah most of my EMR shit doesn't have the same colors, and the pattern printed on my 6b47 is angled at 45 degrees too.

Russians are the only people who ever did digital camouflage right. I still prefer flora and KLMK above all else, though.

By modern western standards, mediocre af. Comparable to 90s era American equipment.

In terms of whats its replacing, its groundbreaking. Nods, comms and optics for everyone, ballistic eyewear and body armor. For a country with such a shitshow logistical train where equipment is either mismatched or not issued at all, where they only discovered socks in the mid-2000s and still cant reliably mass issue optics in spite of being the first country to jump on the idea, ratnik is really bringing them up to par; provided it actually delivers on what is intended.

fuck you portyanki are /comfy/

probably because the MIC is the only thing keeping russia afloat.

I fucking hate the Americanization of Eastern Gear. Both Russians and Chinks.

This. They're losing what made them special.

Attached: afghanka.jpg (800x482, 173K)

i doubt they can afford all that modern stuff honestly. but i'd be impressed if they did.

American bullets can't penetrate them youtube.com/watch?v=agWDW2jTsZk

>every country's military style should be frozen in time so that it appeals to my tastes

this is what happens when you melt down your old stalinium-forged nugget stock for armor plates.

good thing their head, shoulders, arms, legs and stomach are still unprotected. And if they're utilizing cover properly, the only parts of their body that can be hit will be their arms, shoulder and head anyway.

they still have ushankas you fuck

I know most modern soldiers are just camo'd men with pots on their heads and plates on their bodies but you can modernize gear without going burger.

Not what I'm saying, of course I expect some things to change as technology advances. That shouldn't mean decking everyone out in multiscam though.

That is a 6B23 plate, it is ancient.

Attached: file.png (900x600, 1.14M)

Do they still wear coats cut like 70's/80's Afghankas?

>ancient plate cant be perforated by M855A1
now what does that say about more modern plates?

They used to have the best looking military shit on the planet. Not just restricted to uniforms. Their weapons, armor and aircraft were all pure sex.

Americans won't be able to hide behind houses made of wood much less fight them in the forests of russia

youtube.com/watch?v=547BKysByqM

Some fucks in Khabarovsk still use the old VSR pattern in the afganka cut.

fuken based

They have a standard issue full body aramid kit though. But this thing is even more rare than their body armor.

Attached: file.png (536x1027, 532K)

would probably be less rare than a russian Granit-5 plate tbqh. those are fucking unobtanium

Attached: 1553958220993.jpg (1620x2160, 681K)

They have a plate that rated for .358 lapua AP, but it was pasted out of service after Crimea.

About 3.5kg per plate

>soft armor
>doing ANYTHING to rifle rounds

that one was designed for the 6B13 right? I remember that one having some stuff going on with a scalable/modular plate bag.

Attached: IMdusY6.jpg (3089x2048, 1.23M)

>tfw I'll be getting an afghanka soon
It will stay with me forever.

Granit 5A is not that rare, but the 6A one is super rare.

Attached: file.png (900x600, 1.03M)

The reason I haven't bought one is because they're really fucking expensive for what they are.

I don't understand why a clothing piece from a conflict that is relatively obscure and often neglected by the west is so expensive.

Mean for this reply For 6B43 though

Shame 6B43s are kind of shit because russian contract soldiers just steal the kevlar liner.
They fixed that on the 6B45

Only a couple hundred usually from what I've seen. That's not terrible for something so niche and becoming rarer all the time. You can also get the exact same coat but in Flora for somewhat cheaper.

>They fixed that on the 6B45
Now they just have to steal the whole body armor

For example.

Attached: flora.png (901x231, 137K)

Thanks for the advice user, I'll look into buying one of those then.

Are there usually any differences in quality? Because I know the... "work ethic" really decreased in the late years of the union.

I'm not sure. Most of the Flora ones I've seen had Russian Federation patches, but I couldn't tell exactly when they were made. There's probably someone on Jow Forums who knows more about afghankas and could tell you. I eventually want to get one of the khaki ones from the 80's though, they look so striking.

>from a conflict that is relatively obscure
It's such a shame. The Soviet Afghan war and Panama/Grenada/Desert Storm were the only cold war action we ever got.

Attached: afghan.jpg (850x680, 50K)

Yeah the khaki ones do look more neat in my opinion as well. Combine that with the fact that the web gear is usually less than 40 USD too.

There is a reason why any semi relevant military power is switching to some form of multicsm. It's because it fucking works.

Late cold war era Soviet gear had pure fucking soul, the peak military look.

Attached: afghan.jpg (640x400, 92K)

>It's because it fucking works.
In the desert, sure. There's no such thing as a universal camouflage, with how much Jow Forums likes to shit on UCP I thought you would have learned this by now.

why does the krink dude have two right chest pouches?

Attached: 1555856872721.jpg (227x490, 38K)

That line goes further up past the pocket, maybe it's just a crease in the uniform?

I just noticed this is a scan from a two-page drawing, it repeats itself for a bit because you usually cant see the drawing near the center line all that well.

cold war era propaganda artists were actually the first to use the photoshop clone tool.

Clearly a book scan thats been badly merged where the spine would be. Whole joint needs like 6-8 pixels cut out.

Georgia, 2008. It was more than 10 years ago, idiot. Flora gear is "pro-russian" gear now, it's shipped to DNR and LNR.
t. Russian
P.S. Amerigear is better. Ecwcs and pcu, mostly. Tatonka gear is popular, too.

Obligatory.

Poland! Please dont post if you don't know shit about.

Makes sense, I can see it now. From what book, I wonder?

Well, no. Canadians were the first and only.

I don't know if I like 80's Soviet or 80's US more. Uniform cuts and camouflage patterns were both tip top tier.

Anyone know if the level 8 winter suit is worth considering for western europe /out/ shit?

Pic is from Zapad.

These from a decoy unit? I know that there are still a few rear-line units that still use the 68 helmet to some degree.

The truly aesthetic stuff

posting some camouflage troops during a demonstration using rear-line gear.

Literally just Soviet soldiers with digital camo.

Where do i buy those inflatables

Attached: 1551056824824.jpg (1598x1493, 372K)

dunno really, maybe ask some of the russian arms exporters based in russia. Alternatively you can send an e-mail to the ministry directly, they've responded to a fair amount of questions I've asked them over the years.

Attached: 45 OIMP_34.jpg (2250x1500, 3.19M)

It's badass looking but why do they wear those face masks so much of the time?

Attached: 45 OIMP_27.jpg (2250x1500, 3.31M)

>answering your own question

keeps your face from freezing, make you nearly unidentifiable, and they look comfy.

also the "man behind the mask"-thing is really neat.

Too broad. Some stuff is awesome and some of it is trash, at least compared to Western kit. Their camo patterns are sexy though.

Why did the GAZ Vodnik never really take off?

It was a transitional design and didn't really add a ton of new features compared to the existing BTR fleet.

With the prevalence of RCWS systems a vehicle similar to the vodnik is a better option nowadays. look at the KAMAZ-4386 for example.

Attached: ARMY2017-Static-part2-054.jpg (2250x1500, 2.31M)

I'm pretty sure that's meant to be an EOD you can fight in.

>cant afford name tapes

fucking pathetic bear fucks

Not pathetic, they have loop type velcro on their standard summer uniform to accomodate for their name, it's just not visible when wearing a fucking ballistic vest over it.

Name tapes aren't aesthetic.
