ITT: Completely pointless cartridges

hey bro, we heard you liked your 9mm, so we upgraded it by reducing capacity, increasing recoil, increasing muzzle blast and making it more expensive for only negligible/dubious improvements in penetration and expansion

9x25 Dillon

Like just get a super .40 bro

.300blk < 9x39

EVERYTHING except .22lr if all you ever do is target shoot under 200 yards. All your guns will ever do is drill holes in paper and clank steel, and 1% of you hunt

plenty of people hunt

>home defense firearms

>implying 9mm was the logical starting point for .357 sig
>not wanting increased blast and flash for phyco stops
>not wanting more reliable feeding
>thinking 15 vs 17 rounds makes a difference
>not realizing 9mm +p runs at higher pressure
>passing up on rifle velocity underwood screwdrivers
>being poor

9mm sucks

.25 ACP

Any auto loader pistol cartridge that isn’t the Lord’s Caliber, .45 ACP.

.45 AARP

>want to shoot .45 because its fun
>aesthetic and thicc rounds
>have to spend $260 for a case for meh quality .45 and 9mm is dirt cheap now

One day I’ll do some dumb shit like buy and carry an HK45 or P320 .45.

And what do you think of Tokarev?

.357 sig is higher pressured than 9mm+p

imagine wasting money on marketing gimmicks like "long" and "rifle"

The common 125 grain 1350 fps load every major manufacturer is using is 35,000. Saami spec for 9mm +p is 38,500

*teleports behind you*

*slaps your girls ass*

*explodes a bear*

*teleports behind you*

*doubles your capacity*

*doubles your effective range*

*triples your penetration*

*quadruples your total kinetic energy*

Nothin personal, .45 fuds

Thank god there's 357 sig for my sig and 45long colt for my colt.

300 blackout
7.62x39 wannabe cartridge that falls short in supersonic, retarded subsonic 30 caliber icepicks
need I say more?

Saami spec for 357 sig is still higher

.22 tcm but I’m building a garage smg style braced pistol using cz26 magazines and a chopped and screwed AR barrel

Youd be better served by a 10mm pcc if you want subsonic stuff.

357sig > 40 short & weak
9x25 Dillon if you want to be louder

*standard load underperforms .40 short & weak*

357 mag
so many better options but people love it because they are retarded

> .32
> .380
> 9x18 Mak
> .40 (Still Like)

And I wanna say 9mm and .45 in favor of 10mm, I like it more despite not owning one only firing one twice. But I cant imagine trying to defend that while pissing off the 2 "main" calibers.

40 s&w is pointless but eh.

.357 is totally obsolete in current year.

Want a smol CCW? 38s and 9mm have zero problems meeting FBI penetration standards with less recoil, report and muzzle blast then 357. Want belt carry CCW? Nothing beats the capacity of a fullsize/compact 9mm. Want a hunting/innawoods gun? Anything that starts with a 4 is going to outperform 357 mag.

357 mag made sense as a cop gun in the heyday of the revolver but that day is long gone and so is any need for the cartridge to even exist.

Holy shit, if you succeed please post results here. Just that rough description has made my dick into diamonds.

Don't forget "still want to carry a revolver regardless?" you can get +1 capacity if not more by switching to .327 Federal and load down to soft as a baby's ass .32 S&W loads for target shooting then up to .30 Carbine on 'roids loads for cc.

C&R fag here...

Completely pointless cartridges?

9mm Jap revolver
9mm Browning Long
7.65 Frommer (aka hopped-up .32 ACP)
.41 Magnum

I'd just carry a 38. 327 is a good round but it's stupid to pay that much for ammo when 38+p is cheap, readily available and more than enough dakka.

>32 & 380 American Compressed Patriotism
Fag

>.357 sig
Still better than .40 in pretty much every way. Proper loads perform similarly to .357 mag. But still a bottleneck isn't really necissary and a slightly longer, straight walled cartridge running at higher pressures would probably be a better way at accomplishing this

>completely pointless rounds
.45 acp
.45 gap
.50 gi
.25 and .32 naa
.22 tcm
.410
.38 spl i guess

>.38 spl i guess

Snub is GOAT pocket gun and 38 is best snub round. Even though 9mm has better numbers with similar recoil...moonclips suck. fite me.

Trivia: The original plan was to market the .40 Super as the 40 SIG, the big brother to the 357 SIG. The cartridge was introduced in 1996 to Michael Bussard, the Assistant to the President of SigArms, and he was interested in the cartridge for use in the P220 Pistol. Safari Arms also produced a couple of barrels marked "Triton 10", presumably prior to Triton selecting the .40 Super moniker.

what do you hunt with a handgun to eat? I'm genuinely curious
9mm and 10mm are all you'll ever need

kekk and underrated

Stop sucking cocks for a minute and look at this, you shameless cocksucker and then tell the good people of this board you don't want a compact boxy boi smg that runs 9x19mm and high velocity .22 TCM.

I carry a .25 acp 1908 Colt vest pocket, and 9x18 makarov CZ82. They both hold reasons to exist, even today.

7.62x39 cant use undeniably superior western 30cal bullets. 300bo is better, especially for subsonic.
>what do you hunt with a handgun to eat?
not him but youre moving the goal posts

>.410 bore
Off the top of my head, with birdshot they are the best snake shells, they are good youth shotguns and good home defense shotguns (for wife or old people but really, how many buckshot pellets do you need to fire at someone 15 feet away?)
