I was presented with an opportunity today to purchase an unfired .308 Remington 2020 TrackingPoint rifle in the case with the original 300 sealed rounds of ammo and everything included, just as it was originally sold. The guy paid $5,500 back in 2014 and is asking for $3,500. From what I can tell these were only produced for about 6 months in 2013/14 and there's not a lot of info out there on them. It looks like once they were discontinued retailers were getting rid of them for $2,000-2,500. I have the money, it's either going to be spent on guns or car parts anyways.. is this a smash or pass deal?

Attached: Remington 2020.jpg (800x317, 51K)

It's neat but it's up to you to decide if it's $3500 neat. I'd much rather spend that chunk of change on other endeavors personally.

How are modern day japanese special forces like ?

Why are CZ pistols so much more superior to glock? Why is the CZ shadow 2 so preferred to the glock 34 in pro competition?

I'm teetering on that neatness fence. Since there's so little info about them I really don't know if they were as nice as they claimed to be. Not to mention at this point the electronics are 6 years old and might be pretty outdated in terms of capability.

Different gun for different purposes. The CZ will always have a better trigger, so it's great for comp. Downside is it's big and heavy.

In which EU countries is it easiest to obtain a firearm, and how does one go about doing it? Bonus for Slavo-Baltic countries.

would a m70 underfolding stock fit an akm?

...

they'll be super expensive in 2020

>a full disassembly which probably involves cutting the locking block in half and ordering a new one.
Why would you do that? remove the guts, slip the slide on the locking block/front rail, and use it as a handle to work the locking block up out.

Though the first thing I'd try (and maybe you already tried it) is rest the frame on a wood or plastic block directly in front of the trigger guard, and wallop the locking block with a rubber mallet. It could be as simple as needing a little extra persuasion, and if not you won't hurt anything by trying.

who wore it better?

Is there any option to attach a tlr6 or similar style weapon light to a sig m11a1? I'm having trouble finding a weapon light that will just mount to my trigger guard for a pistol that size.

Any weapon light suggestions for railless pistols?

My bedside gun is an AR. I keep a mag of 75grn TAP in it. However I mostly shoot Wolf because it's cheap. How often should I change out my bedside ammo such that I don;t need to worry about cartridge deformation from being chambered? I know setback can be a problem with pistol ammo. Should I just very gently chamber the round (actually use the forward assist) and not worry too much?

This is a completely unsourced thing, I can't remember where I heard it, but I heard the rule of thumb is 3 months.

That's obviously way too often intentionally, as I don't know if you live in a super humid climate or something.

How often are you loading and unloading your bedside gun and why?

To what extent was the AKM still used by the Soviet Union after the AK-74 was introduced?

Don't believe fudd memes, that's some "don't leave mags loaded too long, it'll wear out the spring"-tier memery. Just load it and let it be, you should be shooting it and practicing with it often anyways.

Looking at getting a plate carrier for larping and shtf purposes (I have no military training so I'm clueless). Based solely on crap I've read online, I'm looking at the Crye JPC. Is this a solid choice?

Attached: Crye JPC.jpg (242x208, 6K)

I have that one. It's pretty nice as a minimalist design. I like to throw it on under a sweatshirt or something and walk around with it at the mall or go for a hike with it. I haven't done any running or anything so I don't know how well it keeps things situated.

I bought a triple mag pouch to attach to it. It's very minimalist so you wont have much room for anything else.

Is $325 fair for a m95/34? Theres a guy in my area with one and lm tempted to buy it

Deluxe, I don't see myself needing to strap a shitload of gear to it. Mag pouches and maybe some other small items, perhaps a nice cup holder and pocket for candy bars.

I have a handguard like this one: magpul.com/products/moe-mlok-hand-guard-carbine-length-ar15-m4?ProductColor=VO343
Are these things solid enough that I won't damage it if I attach a bipod to its M-LOK slots on the bottom?

I put one of those condor triple mag pouches, so its 3 rifle with 3 pistol pouches. I keep 3 loaded rifle mags, and 2 pistol mags. I throw my tq in the 3rd pouch. That's just for larping around the house though. I'm getting an LBV then loading everything up on that for my more thought out shtf fantasy set up.

like police SWAT teams, because their military isn't large enough to have an experienced SOF community worth mentioning.

they have better triggers but QC is worse, reliability is worse, and they are a heck of a lot heavier.

Slovenia allows for scary black rifles and 30 round magazines as well as modern handguns without a restriction on military calibers.

To my knowledge that's the best place.

there are national guard units today that use that combo, not to mention ROTC units which are all pretty much stuck with that combo. Heck, in my ROTC unit we were stuck with m16A2's and molle webbing for the first couple years, and only got M4A1's after the national guard near us upgraded and let us use theirs.

yes, so long as you're using it to support the weight of the rifle or for bracing. If you're using it as a club there's no guarantee.

so I'm interested in buying a .357 6 inch revolver, and the ruger GP100 seems like a good one to get. Would anyone agree that $600 or lower is a good price for one?
Same question for the AR556 MPR, which seems to be around the same price range. (cheapest I found was $595)

MSA Sordin Supreme Pro X with a:
>elastic neckband for operating with sun hat or combat helmet
or
>normal leather headband for non autistic range vists

I've been looking into black powder revolvers, but I can't find anything about them that isn't just the ramblings of a boomer. Is there a go to starter pick? Cowboy aesthetic is what I'm going for btw, not looking for competition shooting or otherwise. Also, do brass frames really stretch?

anyone know the price range for the old Taurus model 66? specifically 6 in? from looking around it seems $300-400 is a good range, but it's not consistent.

Attached: model66.jpg (762x463, 88K)

S&W 915 or an M&P9c? Will be IWB carried. Size doesn't bother me as I carried a Hi-Power and an LH9 IWB with no complaints. Leaning towards the 915 because it's $350 with extra mags, I don't know about the price of the 9c yet but I can't imagine it'll be over whatever the going rate is.

I found a CZ pistol on the shelf labeled as a 7.65mm. I've found conflicting info online; can any of y'all tell me what caliber this is/if it's still available?

GP100 is a solid pick, if not exceptional. The 6" full shroud is heavy, but heavy is good, heavy is reliable. You can do a lot worse for 600$.

Once a week or so I take it out to the range. I haven't got the cash (and even if I did, it seems like a poor choice) to be shooting nothing but ~$1/round self-defense ammo.

How do you pronounce ave nex alea?

I'm starting a multi caliber arsenal for both ARs and AKs.
I want the guns to be accurate and precise
What I think I need
Supplies
>loctite 243
>shim stock
>free float tubes
Tools
>lathe
>mill
Materials
>low price LPKs
>low price BCG and CH
>low price uppers and lowers
>faxon barrels
What am I missing. I know I need skill.

Would someone knowledgable in economics explain why it's cheaper to buy and reload 300 win mag than doing the same thing with 243 Remington?

I hate to give you some bad ideas but:
>what's cool and in is cheap because its guaranteed by demand
>when it's out of style it'll be just as pricey if not more.
In 2016 there were a lot of shills on here hailing the .300 WM. Every caliber gets its day. Mark me but I think .257 Robert's might get its day.

Theres a reason why there are regional calibers and there are mainstays like .44-40 and 5.56 or .308. Everything else is fluff or what you buy when you've already got a steady job, contract, or business going and you're feeling restless

That makes sense for more bizarre cartridges but were talking about popular mainstay game cartridges in the United states.

Czech Republic. Local stores in small towns, you can get them there without a permit. I know.

It's also a great place to obtain them legally. As long as you get your license, you can buy everything from a shitty pistol to a rocket launcher, as long as you can pay

I'll believe it when I see it. The big 6 for normal cartridges, at least in my world were:
>.30-06
>.308
>5.56
>12g
>.45
>9mm
.300 WM by pedigree seems like a niche cartridge since you can take elk with .30-06

Why are 3-9 Scopes less than 1-4, 1-6, 1-8's? Even when they're in a same quality tier of a given companies product offerings?

yeah you missed becoming an adult first before you start posting here

Are 9mm IWI tavor magazines compatible with 9mm colt-style AR lowers?

Because it's harder to make a scope that can have 1x and a higher magnification.

What’s the QC look like on current marlin leverguns? How durable and accurate are they?

What's the patrician's method of preserving guns from rusting while in storage?

I'm getting to the point where I'm not sitting constantly finger fucking my milsurp and while I live in low humidity I still wanna do something to avoid rusty in the mean time until I get some grandkids

Preferably something where I can still handle/display a few once in a while, otherwise I'd just cosmoline them all

Ah-way necks ah-lay-ah

For a nice ak upgrade, which does Jow Forums recommend: Krebs, Rifle dynamics, or another shop? (Sam7sf). Is it worth it?

noguns here

on the AR-15 platform, is there ever a situation where reloading from empty you would use the charging handle over the bolt release?

The stick mags are just Uzi mags. So if theres a lower that takes Uzi magazines you're golden. I don't own an AR so that's about all the knowledge I have on that.

Pretty much no, not at all.

Has anyone made their own wooden grips for a pistol? How difficult is it? I'd like some classy wood grips for a 1911 made to certain specifications and can't find a company that will do it. If anyone could recommend a company to make fully custom grips, that would work too.

would this be a good buy? or should i look for something else?

as an added, i assume i cant shoot a slug through either barrel, one has full choke other has improved modified

complaints about modern marlins are mostly over fit and finish - if you don't maintain them with adequare protection from rust they will absolutely rust and their actions aren't finish machined as finely as they were before freedom group so the lever and trigger and hammer will have more grit, but they function the same.

White petroleum jelly.

It's thick enough that it won't run off them and it's colorless so it won't accidentally stain furniture and it provides a moisture-tight barrier preventing humid air from putting a petina on their finish or rusting the steel.

Also, it's really easy to wipe off in 5 minutes unlike sticky cosmoline.

if your bolt release is broken

Basically: Look at AR15 magazines. From a manufacturing standpoint they cost probably the same as 7.62 SCAR mags. But everyone and their dog has an AR so the price of AR mags is brought down by the heavy competition among manufacturers. Whereas (correct me if I'm wrong) only FN makes SCAR mags and only .gov secret squirrel types and LARPers have a 7.62 SCAR. Further anyone with half a brain would probably look into getting a new lower to take AR10 mags.

I can point shoot well enough that I can snap a dandelion head at about 10 yards with my red rider but when I try it with my uberti I can't hit shit. Bros what do I do

Looking for a range/shtf optic, would a 1-4x scope or magnifier-red dot combo be more versatile? Basically 0-300 yards

its called put it in the washing machine

Yeah put the carrier in the washing machine, can't wash the plates but do wipe them down

Basic bitch starter optic: Aimpoint PRO or Trijicon MRO? Or something else? S&W MP 15 Sport 2.

Where can I buy a Mateba?

The internet.

from someone selling a mateba
if you're too retarded to find one, you sure as hell won't be able to afford one

I’ve got an SKS model D (takes AK mags) with a fucked up stock, what aftermarket stock should I get for it? The bull pups are neat, so is the EBR.

It's official, I'm hasgunz. I bought a PSA 18" kit and threw it into a poverty pony with a tramp stamp. Just finished putting it together, and had a couple questions.
1) How much slop should there be between the upper and lower? If I grab both and torque the gun a little, they shift a bit, and I can see light pass through the crack
2) How do I know if the castle nut is tight enough? It's not part of the gas system, so I'm assuming it's not of extreme importance, but I just wanted to check.
3) the mag release that PSA sent me did not fit well with my lower. As it is, it's functional, but it sticks out a lot and I had to file it down to fit, so it looks like shit. Should I get an Anderson made button, or did I fuck something up?

Do all top tier operators use full auto for close in shooting? I know the SAS used full auto MP5s even during hostage crises, but does that kind of thing still fly nowadays?

Does vaseline fuck with the wood finish on the stocks? I've never dealt with it other than cosmo fucking with rearsenal shellac but I have a few things that have pristine wood

Where can I find an after market hammer shrouds for j frame revolvers?

>1
Its fairly normal between uppers and lowers that are on different ends of being out of spec. It'll shoot just fine though.

>2
Use a paint pen and make a mark so that you can just glance down and see if its come loose. Also do a quick google on "staking your castle nut"

>3
Use a pen or some sort of punch and push the mag button all the way in and then rotate the mag release bar in a couple more turns. I like the threaded end to be flush or one turn bellow. Just from looking at your pic you did not turn it in far enough by at least two turns.

Rifle is fine!

use the washing machine, just make *absolutely sure* you remove all the kevlar from the vest before you put detergent anywhere near it or you risk compromising the strength of the armor - and give it an extra rinse cycle so you don't have any detergent left behind when you put the armor back in.

What's your budget?
If you're a bargain hunter primary arms is a realistic minimum, if you want a bit more clarity and performance you can go with vortex. If you really want maximum performance out of your optic you're likely going to spend thousands of dollars on it for something like a trijicon, schmitt&bender, an elcan, or an aimpoint plus magnifier

either one would work fine. The trijicon PRO is likely to be more durable but the MRO allows a marginally wider field of view through it.

operators use full auto when the situation suits it. In some CQB full auto is worthwhile, but if you're shooting for the brain stem or head you generally don't need more than two shots for terminal effect and the extra risk of collateral doesn't help you.

Generally the only routine use of full auto is suppressive fire to cover the maneuver of an assaulting element while pinning the enemy in place.

No need to put it on the wood, it doesn't add any protection.

If the wood is unfinished it'll soak in to it but should not stain or warp it. If it's laminated wood it'll just sit on top of the wood until you wipe it off.

looks like that one was made by colt

If true would it work on my edc Taurus j frame copy?

indeed however I still need one for j frames

What is a P320 recoil spring guide made of?

I can't get the release off, it won't turn anymore because the bolt catch is in the way :(

Anyone know where I can find a replica DCL 120?

What the fuck are you guys doing with the ever expanding collection of chamber locks that I assume we all have? I feel bad throwing them away, they seem like they could be useful, but they aren't sturdy enough to serve as any actual security. In case it's not clear, I'm talking about those little padlocks with the big flexible loop you get with every handgun you buy.

I keep a handful to incorporate into a sale for legal requirements or satiate someone who wants to feel safe around my guns in a specific situation. They make great placebos, in other words.

Newfag here

What would be the practical effects of using iron-jacketed bullets? And what about silver?

I've got a pair of Austrian paratrooper boots and I'm looking for replacement laces. Not too familiar with brands or anything like that, so recommendations would be greatly appreciated since the last pair I bout were too thick to fit through the speed lace hooks.

This is for anyone with an AUG, shot an AUG, or just knows:
Which way does the gas escape from the gas plug? I am looking at that little rail on the side of the AUG that's supposed to be for the light/laser and I was wndering if I can stick a Haley Thorntail that'll extend the light further forward, but that puts the light pretty much near or right above the gas port.

You'd pay more for bullets.

eBay suggestions just introduced me to the concept of chamber converters. If anyone has experience with these, how well do they work? Can I effectively shoot 7.62 from my shotgun?
