Those air regiment clowns made our USAF Security Forces look like Rangers. Do they even have a PT test?

It's probably just jumping over a couple of KFC buckets to show you haven't got your own gravitational pull.

That's gold cunt

Freedom for citizens, fuck all for foreigners.

'ohio, legal to own cougar' LOL

What's sad about this is 8 months later, because of a bunch of exotic cats escaping a private preserve in Ohio a bunch of cops and wildlife officers had to kill them all, so they decided to pass laws afterwards prohibiting ownership of a lot of exotic animals including cougars otherwise before 2012, you could own leopards and crazy venomous snakes in Ohio.

Shows what you fools know. The RAF Regiment has the ultimate PT

So are these guys basically British versions of AF secfo?

Basically. I'm not in but from what I've been told (by a raf reg guy who transferred to army infantry), the problem is they think of themselves as super elite commando types. As far as I understand it, they were founded during wwii and saw a fair amount of combat seizing airfields and the like. But nowadays we have paras for that, and they're just security. Not to mention, I figure airfields nowadays are miles and miles further from the enemy than they were back then, so your chances of actually having to defend your base are lower. Wiki tells me they also used to do anti air defence but that was transferred to the army.
Despite this they've kept the "badass fighting troopers" image up, even though they're never near the front line these days.
They do have a parachute unit and apparently commit a tiny fraction of guys to the special forces support group, but I'm guessing they get the shaft from the paras and marines that make up the bulk of that force.
I'm surprised that they haven't been gutted by the forces budget reviews going on desu.

It's a lot more complex than that. RAF Regiment personnel have included the former OC of an SAS Sabre Squadron in recent years, so all the RLC types in the Army giving it large about how shit the RAF Regiment is tends not to go down too well in certain circles. Broadly speaking, they're doing a job that the Army failed to do in airfield defence. That doesn't make them as capable as the Army's Infantry, but no Infantry Regiment wants to get pinged to defend airfields and nor do the Army want to give them up.

They also came out of Afghanistan with a lot better reputation than certain Regiments, including a Cdo one sadly.

Fair, I'll defer to you on that one then.

So more like a combination of security forces and various battlefield airman positions like JTACs?
