I'm not a huge fan of automatic pistols and I think .38 special doesn't quite cut it (you can call me psychotic for this but I think the ability to shoot through vehicle cover matters quite a lot, I know someone who has had to do so). 357 magnum sounds like the best cartridge to me and you need a bit more gun to fire it effectively so I don't think a snub is a good idea.
I'm thinking of getting some kind of 4-inch (give or take) barrelled 357 Magnum revolver and carrying it in my back waistband with a holster. How much am I going to feel that walking around and how obvious is it going to be that I'm packing?
Similar question, I want to buy pic related (maybe with a slightly longer barrel), put some funky grips on it (saw a dude on here's gun that looked fucking great with some), and then get white powdercoated flat nosed bullets and paint tiny pictures on them and carry it appendix in an Uncle Mike's. Is this a retarded idea? Would a jury look favorably on me if I blew a hole in somebody with a revolver with 'Great Wave of Kanagawa' grips and hardcast bullets with tiny images of birds of paradise intricately painted on them in miniature? Would the detail and effort give my rounds superior killing power?
Carrying an Uncle Mike's holster is always retarded. If I could get a micro painting of Kanagawa on the head of a bullet I don't think I'd fire it, that has to take like a month with a needle.

The typical defensive gun use for a civilian in the United States are muggings. .38 is plenty good for this along with shooting through auto glass and light vehicle surfaces. You’ll be fine with Speer or HST’s in .38 special but it’s up to you to decide if .357 is worth the lesser shootability.
JM Custom Kydex makes excellent holsters and they make a variety of AIWB and IWB holsters for K-Frames. Just...don’t tell me you’re one of those thumb cocking people who carry revolvers.
I don’t own a K-Frame but I’ve carried full size pistols like the Glock 17,34 and Sig P226 with no issues in light clothing. Shouldn’t be any different.
