This thread is for owners of the Remington 700 bolt action rifle to discuss the best rifle God ever handed down to man. Post your rifles and share info!
Please no modded rifles, Remington assembles them to a degree of perfection that cannot be improved upon.
how do you like your tikka? They seem like the nicest bolt action bolt action rifle for the price. I used to want a 700 but I don't trust new Remington.

I bet yall fire .270 or .308 or some other shitty cartridge If you fire 30-06 or .300 win mag, now THATS a cartridge. Load er' up in a 220 grain and bring 3 deer home. A story from '89 As for my pistol, I like to have a ruger in .454 cassul jus' so I can switch it to furtyfive when I wan to ***siiiiiiiip***

go to jewtube and watch that danish sprangtest video. the remshit explodes like a shrapnel grenade while every non yank rifle just bulges the barrel when fired with a blocked muzzle. sako, steyr, tikka, howa, cz etc. are sub moa boltys that one can own and still look at themselves in the mirror. but that norinco tier crap remshit has become? saw the bolt handle BREAK OFF some guys remy700 at the range. remshit, not even once.
I placed the quarter at 200 yards and I will say with the USMC 10x scope, you cannot see the quarter. I fired one shot that went just to the right (skimmed the edge) and the second shot hit near center. I was very surprised.
I actually enjoyed my Tikka. It was a T3X CTR and I swapped out the stock to a Mcmillan A5. Was pretty accurate rifle.
Elijah Gonzalez
.25-06 actually, far flatter shooting than a full .30-06.
You mean where they do things to them that no rifle should under proper operation? What you really mean to say is they overbuilt their barrels and actions needlessly increasing weight. Refined a an art.
Also you bitching about a brazed bolt handle prove you are not an actual user of a rifle. Anyone that has to hit their bolt to open it has already made several mistakes.
He uses the word "enjoyed" because he was smart enough to sell it.
ATTN all in thread; if the Remington 700 Bolt Action Rifle wasnt the best, God wouldn't have handed it down to Americans.
My dad has a pair of heavy varmint barrelled Rem 700's that he bought in the 80's for him and my mom to use for hunting. His is chambered in 25-06 and hers is in 22-250. Both very nice shooting guns and shoot close to 1/2" groups at 100 yards with handloads. I have killed deer and wild hogs with both of them but they are heavy bastards, really only suited for stand / blind hunting and are no fun to lug around trying to stalk game.

What's the purpose of the muzzle brake on a .308?
Nathaniel Perry
someone on a computer should make an expanding brain tiers meme of small brain >rem700 >savage axis >tikka howa win70 >old rem700 biggest brain >rem700 produced by anyone other than remington (ptg and stiller)
Jaxon Sanchez
Wait, actually I think he bought them in the mid-late 70's now that I think about it.
Carson Reyes
not him but it's so you can see your vapor trail through the optic even through the recoil
Caleb Ward
get them rebarreled equally heavy in 6.5cm and put them in an aluminum bedding block stock
Samuel Rodriguez
Why? The barrels aren't shot out yet and I have all the reloading equipment to reload them with at least 200 pieces of brass and bullets for each along with plenty of primers. All I'd have to buy is more powder when I run out of what's already there.
William Martinez
ah, then keep as is
Kayden Bennett
Once a barrel gets shot out I'll look into rechambering it in something else. My mom doesn't shoot at all anymore and my dad probably only puts 25-50 rounds through his 25-06 per year so I doubt that'll happen anytime soon. I'm an only child so I'll inherit their entire gun collection when my dad dies someday to add to what I already own, hopefully guns will still be legal to own when the time comes to pass them down to my children but I don't feel like gun ownership will be very easy 40 years from now.
John Davis
Basically what the other guy said. Less recoil means it’s easier to stay on target for the next shot.

But modern 700s are still excellent, the trolls that talk about their budget 'real tree' cabelas exclusive rifles are mongoloids for thinking a $700 remington is the same as a $1100 remington.
Buy a BDL or CDL.

The Remington 700 is and always will be a poor alternative to the Winchester 70.
They were a well executed econobox. Now they are neither well made nor cheap.

It’s a different design completely M70s were far worse for many many years. Pre 64 70s are wonderful firearms but a different design entirely. They’re both fine. I own many 721s, 722s, 700s and many M70s.
