If you watch the full video you'll see that its using the crossbow as an example for a weapon with a very large range as compared to a regular knife or a ballistic knife. In that segment its basically explaining how you should always maintain a safe distance and try and keep behind cover. There are other segments that cover different kinds of improvised weapons to be aware of, and common concealed weapons, and what you should do if you do get stabbed. Most of whats presented in the video can be seen as common sense.
