Russia just laid the keel for its 4th and 5th Project 22350 Admiral Gorshkov Class frigates. These 2 carry 24 UKSK silos instead of the 16 carried by the first 3 ships of the line but there will be not much difference in the dimensions of the ship. These new ships will still retain Project 22350 designation and are not the new Project 22350M that they are still designing.
Is this a knee jerk reaction to realizing that their ships are no match to superior Chinese ships of the same tonnage? The Admiral Gorshkov frigate is participating in the Chinese Naval Parade and the Russians probably were intimidated by the fire power of the Type 054A super frigate. Why can't they just buy Chinese?
Are there any other instances where Russia and America got so jealous of China that they impulse made warships or planes?
Meanwhile China is mass producing the 10,000 ton class Type 055 destroyer and also has other things like the 003 aircraft carrier and Type 075 LHD in the pipeline. Russia cannot compete.
Anthony Cooper
Russia’s never really attempted to compete in the Pacific. They’ve always oriented their navy to the west.
Kevin Stewart
Oh they tried once. Lost a fight with the Japs.
Oliver Lewis
True. That’s probably part of why they no longer attempt to compete in the Pacific.
Aiden Brown
>Russia’s never really attempted to compete in the Pacific Russia never really attempted to compete in the naval warfare. Navy is just useless for the largest continental country.
Kayden Bell
It is not useless. They just don't have the dough to have a substantial navy.
Noah Hill
Considering it’s bound by a bunch of countries that despise it to the west, the arctic to the north, a rising superpower to the south, and the most powerful navy on the planet to the east, it seems like most of Russia’s naval investment should be geared to the Pacific.
Luke Robinson
They can pretty much blitz Japan and easily push through to Alaska via island hopping. The Atlantic is a clusterfuck.
Josiah Harris
Oh they tried, but the goals were limited. Bullying Sweden, trying to keep a warm water port on the Pacific, and attempting to murder the Ottomans.
Easton Nguyen
Japan is probably the 2nd most capable navy in the Northern Pacific behind the US. What makes you think that Russia’s Pacific Fleet could handle it?
Adam Perez
Gotta have something to replace the Kirovs and Kuznetsov.
Isaac James
Those are some sour grapes.
Jacob Adams
They can easily take the Japanese home islands
Luis Miller
They just look average. Soviet ships look too patriarchal to be aesthetic. Really good looking ships are from America where the design is so good you can almost say they were designed by a female for the female mind.
What makes you say that? Maybe the entire Russian military could, but that would require them to shift most of their forces away from the west where they’re needed. Even then, I really doubt that Russia has the amphibious capability to pull something like that off these days.

low quality post but excellent .webm
Carson Gutierrez
>Russia vs China naval thread Oh these are always hilarious.
Gabriel Ramirez
>Russia >Navy Why though? Just cut your losses and focus on Army and Air Force
Ayden Rivera
What's with all the white water at the bow? It looks super weird
Levi Reyes
Go take a look at the pacific fleet.
Jose Nelson
Part where the bow is tapered. It carries a rather large bulbous bow sonar so the water splits apart and then rushes back in at that spot creating turbulence which results in a smaller wake. As a side effect, it creates a smaller window of opportunity for wake homing torpedoes to detect the ship.
