Chinese 70th Anniversary International Naval Review

It was too foggy, too rainy and generally shit weather where you couldnt see shit. But it was still a pretty nice parade with a number of international ships.

Anyway, beginning with the star of the show: The first Type 055 Cruiser, named "Nanchang", pennant 101.

Japanese news were covering this parade, dubbing it as "Asia's largest warship".

The fact that it was towed into the Chinese port of Qingdao was the subject of certain memes, especially since the Suzutsuki is sort of a weeb favorite among chinese otaku.

Everyone sent frigates at the bare minimum

Imagine being a sailor or officer in these ships, literally cringe.

The last of the fleet review is the "Haiyandao" submarine tender.

There was also an aerial display of naval bombers and fighters, but with a visibility of only 500 meters, it was moot.

Anyway, more Type 055 pictures.

Is it normal to involve support ships in fleet reviews like that? I always assumed the point was to show off impressive-looking offensive capabilities more so than logistics infrastructure.

very interesting detail on the main radar arrays.

Seems like they have optimized those bar-shaped radars ontop of the bridge. Previously thought to be IFF interrogators, they are most probably long band radars-

Attached: 101 jj.png (1920x1103, 1.12M)

Yes, seems to be normal for fleet reviews vs actual naval parades.

In some fleet reviews you even bring out your traditional sail-training ship to show off your traditions.

Higher res on the "Nanchang"

64-cell VLS block

The lead ship of the 055-class has quite a politically significant name: "Nanchang" is the city where the PLA, back then known only as "Chinese Red Army", staged their first uprising hence was considered their birthplace.

The pennant number 101 was unused for decades, even after the decommissioning of the original 101, the Anshan DD, which was the PLAN's first warship.

grabbed that off 2chan.

The Japanese were super weebs, even having pic related officially onboard the Suzutsuki. No shit.

And this was the official merchandize for the chinese visitors.

Well fug
I wonder how much they go for

The chinese weebs would pay a lot, since they love silver haired botes and characters in general.

So 60 RMB?

Looks like a Delta-Class

Pretty much, but I'll admit some of this shit is pretty sleek looking.

similiar concept, although the 094 is a bit more "streamlined" than the Delta

>all these frigates reaching China
Huh, they have a longer range than I thought

nice

Attached: 055 AShBM.jpg (746x900, 99K)

It's a review not the Battle of Midway. What do you want, half the NATO nuke sub fleet to show up?

No fucking way

They say the Suzutsuki had around 5000 visitors

On such a small ship. Worse than Comiket

It’ll be interesting to see how any of it holds up in actual combat, though I guess the same can be said for nearly every ship built post-1945.

knowing the PLA, it will take 10 years until we see a photo of that weapon...

Does Feng Jian know something we don’t, Jow Forums?

wasting good DSLR on a warship is a crime among planespotters.

My point is that have at least some form of self-respect and send frigates like everyone else.

Even old frigates are fine, nobody wants their newest ships to be shipscanned by Chinks.

>cringe
>>>/reddit/

>nobody wants their newest ships to be shipscanned by Chinks
Too late, honky.
See

Lots of those navies cant afford and whatever ships they have is already being tailed by the Chinese during normal operations in the South China Sea and beyond.

The Suzutsuki for example is one of the newest ships in the JMSDF, but it already has had multiple closer encounters with shadowing Chinese frigates and destroyers in the past. So, whatever the Chinese can know, they already know.

And these
These are all some of their newest warships.

kek

Why did the Gorshkov not participate? Did it break down or something?

At least I didnt see it. Maybe it did.

There were also some other ships that were on static display tho.

Can someone translate that into English?

youtube.com/watch?v=8zYHFeN4XHE

Can you translate it?

Upon asking my Chinese liason officer how many ships the PLAN will commission this year: "I dont know... a dozen or so".

Joke is that the German Navy is currently in the process of completely disintegrating.

>Krauts playing nice with an expansionist Asian autocracy
Typical

>a dozen or so shitty sub 5k ton frigates
When's the type 002 coming out, Chang? And your new nuclear subs.

Russians seem to have some fun
