I fucking love the MKII PBR. It's my dream to own one and sail up and down the NC coast, since I live relatively close to the area where they were originally designed.
They would be fucking great to dick around in eastern NC.
A PBR would be the bee's knees for diddling in the Mississippi delta region. Shame they are so hard to find and expensive. Other boats don't do it for me

I recommend to you all Tigris Gunboats by Wilfred Nunn. He was the senior Naval officer of the British and Commonwealth forces fighting along the Tigris & Euphrates, really showing the ability of brown water operations to provide vital gunfire and logistics support to land forces.
Brown Waters of Africa is also pretty interesting. The Portugese used brown water ops a lot in their Colonial counter-insurgencies.
