Wish it had iron sights. A lot of the deer hunting I do is in the hills and woods where I don't really need a scope, and putting a reflex sight on it doesn't look right even if it is arguably better iron sights.

Not exactly, they and another gun company decided to jointly hire a "pro-gun" lobbyist, but instead of opposing gun control the guy only asked for exemptions for the companies products.
Springfield and the other company only found out about this when the bills where put forward, and they immediately fired him, hired 2 new lobbyists, and defeated all the anti-gun bills the first one had gotten exemptions for them in.
