Two of the expansions for ghost recon have you going into jungles, and the base game itself has you practically going up mountains all the time. In those environments, too much water is still not enough. Also if one gets shot or something, there are still more options for water than that one canteen

lads, I'm debating between a chest rig or a belt (like the vtac or hsgi) for light weight shooting this summer. i want to have a camelbak (integration would be fucking nice), 4 rifle mags (i switch between 5.56 and 308. i know some pouches can fit both), 2 to 4 pistol mags and maybe a poop pouch. i like the idea of a drop leg holster but side mounted would be fine too. hit me with your ideas.

Stationary range fun? Whatever suits you. Big belts are easy to throw on and off, comfy in hot weather. Moving, shooting, running, etc I hate them. I'd throw my two pennies in the chest rig pot. Something like the Haley D3CR or other micro rig for lightweight range/emergency use, something bigger/more robust for a real deal "recce" or combat larp rig.

If it’s more than 2 rifle mags you’re going to want a chest rig. If price is no object get the whole Haley system, mag inserts, flatpack and all. Shove your medical in the fanny pack, your bladder in the flatpack and you’re good to go.
Holsters are plentiful, choose one you like. Avoid drop legs they will come loose and drag or bind up your knee. I don’t recommend using the Haley pistol insert but you’re welcome to it.

AZfag here - I tow a dolly into the desert with me with 2 or 3 of the 5 gallon jugs. Read the opening to Bravo Two Zero. It is very realistic. Even Don Mann got heat casualtied at one of the Mojave endurance events. They canceled it in progress because everyone fucked the dog that day.

So I'm looking at BFG's website right now and it looks like they have a chest frame on sale. So basically the way I take a chest rig is that you buy a frame and you put pouches on it right? It's not really possible to get a good all in one rig? Just need to hold 6-8 AK74 mags, an ifak, maybe a Leatherman and a flashlight.
