Fun Fact: The more generals a board has the worse it is.
Liam Howard
That multi cylinder Taurus has started hitting the market. I don't want to hate myself for buying Taurus shit if it goes wrong but it ticks a lot of my spinboi autism boxes.
1) 7 shot 2) 38/357/9mm in one gun 3) 3" ported barrel 4) unfluted cylinder
I'm thinking of getting one of their 856 revolvers with the two-tone colors for giggles.
If the gun works, then hey, what's essentially a 6-shot J-Frame is hard to beat.
Andrew Rogers
I wish there were more grip options for Taurus revolvers. Altamont doesn't make anything for the medium frame just the small and large and even then it's only one style.
327 is cool but the ammo cost/availability is too much of an issue unless you're loaded or you will never practice as much as you should. Also 38 with modern SD ammo is more than enough for SD.
Mason Johnson
Yeah but you get an extra round in 327
Ryan Gray
Baffles me people trust their lives or the lives of their loved ones to revolvers instead of semi autos, is being a meme worth risking your life for on the offchance you really do need to defend it?
If an extra round matters to you so much you can get 6-shot .38 snubs like .327 is not common, pretty much only Federal makes the ammo
Brody Watson
How much bigger are those 6 shot snubs tho. Also I'd just load 32 long into the 327 anyway.
Can I trust a Taurus? I have only been looking at smith and ruger so far. I just like the lcrx cause its super light, but I really like the 3 inch barrel lcrx, assuming it wouldnt mess with it being carried too much.
Ian Evans
There is no good excuse to have a CC revolver and have it not be either a SW 327 for the 8 rounds, or the kimber k6s for 6 in case you are a manlet
Kimber's 6-shot and the Taurus 6-shot are the same size as an average J Frame, shit you sound like a pussy
Carson Phillips
Go German bf french
Luke Evans
>average
The lcrx is small AND light though. I want something I'll actually carry.
Also that doesnt tell me if I can trust Taurus, I'd rather not buy a kimber. Too much money and too heavy especially considering their mixed QC reputation
Jaxon Bailey
I carry a 3 inch sp101 in .357 because it's the smallest revolver I can comfortably, quickly and accurately shoot magnums out of. That's a pretty good excuse.
Hudson Morgan
Ruger gp100 from rugers new custom shop. Thoughts?
If you trust your life to taurus you are a retard and also a cheap retard
No it really isn't unless you are 5'5
Mall ninja
Chase Bennett
both are good
Wyatt Brown
>The lcrx is small AND light though. I want something I'll actually carry. Then get something you can afford to shoot and practice with, which you aren't getting with a .327
Can you trust Taurus? These days I'd say yeah, certainly more trustworthy than Kimber
And the Taurus 856 comes in a lightweight version at 15-16 ounces
William Turner
I don't like adjustable sights, but looks fine otherwise.
Aaron Perry
God dammit this always happens when I read about Taurus
Chase Barnes
How does height have anything to do with recoil management? You sound like an idiot.
Connor Mitchell
Taurus quality is getting better, but that is not saying much, they are functional weapons but you would still be really fucking dumb to rely on it for the most emergency of situations
This is not an area of your life you want to cheapen out on, spend the extra money
Angel Harris
I get that mentality but the odds of me ever using it for self defense are slim.
I'd carry an autoloader probably if I thought like that.
John Ward
Goddamn, just buy the fucking LCRx in .327 Federal. I know you're that same guy from the other thread.
You don't need validation from us. If you want it, just get it already.
Nathaniel Hill
oof found the manlet, sorry that god shit on you
Bigger person can heft a larger weapon without it weighing on their belt all day as well as stay CC better without being too obvious, bigger hands mean the ability to hold a full size gun for adults without it blowing out their wrist because the force is distributed better across a larger surface area
Get a glock 26 revolvers are stupid for carry anyway
Bet your life on it? In that case you are carrying for the memes do whatever, If you are serious about self defense you carry a semi auto, if you must have a revolver you get a sensible not cheap as fuck option
Benjamin Myers
All the cuts kinda,...umm idk. I like new designs but I just stumbled across the gun while I was on ruger's site. I'm still undecided, it's kinda polarizing. Least it's an 8shot 357. 1500 MSRP is pretty steep
Christian Sanders
I'm leaning towards 38 just for price honestly. I'm a cheap fucker
Fair point. I just feel more comfortable carrying a revolver
Wyatt Taylor
>If you are serious about self defense you carry a semi auto I know, right? If you aren't carrying a Glock 19 with 30-round spare magazines for reloads, you just aren't fucking prepared.
Levi Miller
I'm 6ft with fat hands. I still prefer small handguns for carry.
Good techniques to remove light surface rust with out scratching the good finish? I bought a cheap k frame that lived in some guys RV. The finish is decent, with patches of light surface rust, and small pitting. So far i have been oiling the surface and going over lightly with a bore brush, but I would like to get a less abrasive pad or brush for larger surfaces.
> buy 2 lcr > buy a 22lr for practice > buy a 327 for carry it's a revolver, so it's not like you need to burn 200 rounds of carry ammo before you feel confident. you know it's gonna cycle just fine. plus, it's easy as heck to practice with 32 acp, h&r, s&wL or the other two i can't remember. you can find carry ammo and practice ammo, no sweat. I got set up to reload 327 for like $127, total > 12.5 grains 296 for powder, 100 grain soft points for dakka > 4 grains titegroup, 70 grain plated for practice
get 327
Grayson Perez
I'd probably just carry 32 wadcutters anyway. I'm not a fan of super powered ammo.
I wouldnt buy two of the same guns either
Julian Cooper
Shut your piehole.
Leo Clark
I have a python, korth and manurhin are better
Lucas Campbell
I do want a manurhin but in 357, Im considering that korth as an edc
Noah Green
Isn't it just a Redhawk in 357.? Looks nice, but I don't see much point.
Luis Roberts
Oil the surface and buff the rust of with fine synthetic steel wool. It will come right off and won't hurt the finish.
David Allen
>no Richards-Mason conversion ring It's like they're not even trying, is it? And is that "London" and Uberti? They never did figure out the correct trigger guard.
Jayden Jackson
Delete your name when you post that gun, Blondie.
Austin White
It's not a Richards-Mason. It's built on an 1871-72 frame with an 1851 barrel. Note the design of the loading gate and the solid recoil plate.
Is the Webley a cowboy gun? It's definitely not orthodox but it was around during what could be considered the West and with Lugers and so on in the hands of later cowboys I can definitely see its place.
Isaiah Stewart
"nigger" isn't a curseword. you don't have to pretend you are neck deep in democrats/pedophiles on this Tibetan paper-doll manufacturing support message board.
i thought you guys were arguing about the SMALLEST revolver you can shoot fast not the largest revolver you can comfortably carry. 3" sp101 makes sense for a small revolver shooting full power .357 imo more so than a smith j frame with one of the really lightweight metals
Logan Cruz
loving that grip angle on the r107. wish more revolvers had a grip closer to a lemat. it would probably look terrible but they look so cool
Makes a good underwear gun. It's the only one I have while wearing pajamas
Cooper Gray
Anyone have any experience with the LCRx in .22lr? I wan't a revolver that's cheap to plink with.
yes, try and get the lock free model if you can. They make the pro version, which doesn't have a lock, and can optionally function using .38spl moon clips.
I like the idea of a hammer though and it doesnt have one. Also much smaller barrel than the 3 inch lcrx I was looking at
Jose Peterson
BTW I want to carry wadcutters how much issue will I have with non adjustable sights?
Jose Miller
The double action trigger on the 642 is nice, with a very obvious second stage. A hammer doesn't give you much benefit with them, but comes with two major drawbacks. The hammer can snag, and debris can get into the action from the hammer area. Hammers are better suited for fullsize revolvers, somewhat like target sights.
The fixed sights aren't too bad. Both my J frames have been on, and surprisingly accurate. I can readily hit a 14" plate at 25yds. Never tried with wadcutters, but they might throw off the point of impact. Practice your holds with them, and learn where it hits. J frames require quite a bit of practice to master regardless, so learning holds isn't that much of an additional barrier.
what color of these g10 would guys get? i cant decide between the black/gray or the green. and theyre pretty expensive so i cant buy both. unless you guys know of some linen/cloth micarta grips for the gp100, but i havent been able to find any.
