Have you taken the .30 cal pill? The 7.62 mindset? Its the perfect diameter bullet. With an absolute impressive range of cartridges using projectiles of this perfect diameter, youd be stupid to not have a majority of your guns in it.
With a huge slew of molds for weights and everything from 7.62x25 to .300 winmag youll find an impressive amount of variety in this diameter. It honestly is the perfect and most supported diameter projectile. You need to accept it. Even people who buy silencers for smaller bores get them in .30cal. Because why limit yourself from the best?
5.56 has been reported as ineffective by the people who used it. Just look at the reports from mogadishu. When you have rail thin fighters hopped up on drugs, that don't even have enough meat to make 5.56 rounds tumble effectively, you are poking literal 22 Cal holes in them. The soldiers themselves reported how it would take multiple shots with 5.56 to finally make someone drop, whereas with real fuckin nato they went down on the spot. These are reports from the real world. And I say this as someone who is 23 and I own a 5.56 rifle, I like them, but they are not as good for combat as 308. They've already proven to be questionable against UNARMORED INSURGENTS. Imagine how sad 556 will be against professional armies that are armored.

is this a copypasta?
Carter Campbell
Didn't the soviets do this? 7.62x25, x39 and x54r. I'm guessing theres a reason they stopped.
Ayden Russell
Copypasta or not. .223 is considered inhumane for animals. Its inhumane for people. Not saying .223 is a bad round, look what its based off of. Im saying .30 offers more on the front and way more on the backend.
Aaron Anderson
Hello plebbit.
Jeremiah Hill
>mogadishu Shit Bill all these guys hopped up on Khat don't feel the rounds we're shooting into them. I know Frank damn shit is like heroin.
William Carter
Watch out OP. You've just drawn a big target on your back for all of the zoomer trash that cant candle the recoil of .30cal anything.
This is why the thumper rounds exist. I'll take my .50 Beowulf hog hunting long before my .308. .300 winmag is also an awesome round, but post a semi-auto with a 40 round magazine chambered in it. Its all about the right tool for the job. .30 cal does not fill every roll. If you insist on using it for everything, you are improperly outfitted and poorly prepared and trained.
Henry Myers
read up on M855 and how shit it is, then look at M855A1 and how great it is. All of the issues you're saying isn't because of 5.56, it's M855. Fucking belgians.
Aaron Bennett
Not a single argument. Most of you are no guns anyway and those of you who do have guns about 50% of those couldn't hit the broad side of a barn cause you don't practice. Your opinion is irrelevant. If anyone is redd*t here it's you

They got their linear programming charts out. Calculated the tonnage of lead they would be deep in. For their long term acquisition of afghanistan. Formulated a profit point and maximized the return of investment. All for the security of their sums. Reservation of their reserves. And throwing out all needs of efficacy and efficiency for rubles.
Boiling down my criticisms of bullets that arent .30cal to a criticism of .223 and then further down to m855 specifically isnt the point. Many other bullet diameters are fine. But .30cal has the longest history of worth, a tried and true caliber. With hundred years of support and use. It is the king of the small calibers like the 302/305 are the king of the small blocks. Not too big. Not too small.
Tyler Jenkins
Only 10 states out of 50 banned .223 for whitetail only in an attempt to choke down on AR-15s. Modern bonded bullets are fine for the overgrown dogs. I've dropped countless with 55gr out of a 1:12.
Julian Turner
Khat is more comparable to caffeine or nicotine than heroin. Hell, it's a stimulant, and heroin is an opiate.
Ian Watson
This is the Russians, not the Jews?
Daniel Martinez
Hunting laws are fucking retarded fudd shit and you're associating your hate of 5.56 nato with all .223 bullets.
Jacob Rodriguez
just because something is old doesn't make it better. Yeah it kills people very well, this is obvious. But it can be superseded by something better like 5.56. .223 has had a long service history of 56 years too.
Austin Parker
The point isnt that the jews. The point is that every modern government beauracracy practically functions as a profit seeking business and will sacrifice anything to see the line go up on the chart.
Adrian Wright
>anything I dont like is noguns
You're both cancer, and need to be purged from Jow Forums.
Joshua Young
You're the one calling people noguns in the first place. Let's see yours or get the fuck out kid.
Noah Torres
>hate of 5.56 nato Calm down honkey. No one hates a bullet. Especially not me, it just comes down to the simple fact. That for the hobbyist, home gamer, operator, soldier the .30cal is the best.
not for a soldier, especially not for an operator. 90% of SOF raids happen at night, where shots are usually within 200m. Farther than that is handled by the MGs and snipers. Faster follow up shots are probably the biggest benefit to intermediate calibers, and they don't even sacrifice that much killing power to do so. After all, shot placement is everything.
Justin Johnson
Only in 300 blackout The recoil still kinda scares me My acog on 556 hit me in the face the other day
Jayden Morgan
Before or after your stepdad's cumshot did?
Gavin Kelly
>the .30cal is the best. thirty cal is the way and the light
And I can quote you accounts from Rhodesia and the Angolan Bush War where niggers were stitched with multiple rounds out of FN MAGs at less than 100m and still ran for 2km.
Shot placement matters way more than caliber.
Isaiah Taylor
Not really comparable to nicotine, somewhat comparable to caffeine. Cathinone, the active substance in them, is a substituted amphetamine, and is pretty comparable to common old amphetamine. So khat is basically plant speed
You can even methylate it to make methcathinone which is a bit stronger and comparable to methamphetamine.
They originally did it so the same tools could be used to rifle all their barrels. This is why the PSM was in 5.45x18, just a tradition thing since Russia knows handguns are just officer status symbols. I think that might be the reason for the VSS being in 9mm as well, but who really knows.

>Most full-metal-jacketed AK-47 bullets do not deform significantly on striking the body, unless they strike bone. They characteristically travel point-forward until they penetrate 9 to 10 inches of tissue (if a bullet yaws, turning sideways during its tissue path, it causes increased disruption). This means that most AK-47 shots will pass through the body causing no greater damage that produced by handgun bullets. The limited tissue disruption produced by this weapon in the Stockton schoolyard is consistent with well documented data from Vietnam (the Wound Data and Munitions Effectiveness Team collected approximately 700 cases of AK-47 hits), as well as with controlled research studies from various wound ballistics laboratories. You need good bullet design to make .30 bullets work effectively. If you have good bullet design, .22s work also for human-sized game. Why pick the option with more weight and recoil?
Ryder Lee
I love my 3006 bolt action. and my ar10 is quite nice too
>mfw my buddy with his AR can't tell if he's hitting the steel past 400 yards
You'd have to understand why most ammo never stayed in the .30 cal/7.62 diameter. Most gunfights occurred in the 200 - 400 meter range so the full length of the 7.62 rifle cartridges was wasted. 7.62×51mm was scaled down to 5.56 ar15 and the 7.62×54mm was shortened to 7.62x39 ak47. The same processed was used for pdws with the 5.56 being shortened to 5.7x28 p90 and scaled down for the 4.6x30 mp7. The 7.62x39 itself followed the 5mm trend and was replaced with the 5.45x39 for the russians and 5.8x42 for the chinese.
What recoil? 30 cal doesnt recoil hard at all unless its a 300 win mag durr huntin rifle.
Jack Ortiz
don't know, they claim it is but they don't specify any special features unlike 5.45 which has a hollow bubble inside to intentionally destabilize it so it'll tumble inside the body and leave a bigger exit hole.
