In 2014, Russian reject the Zlobin AK-12 for the A-545, which is a much more complicate and expensive than the Zlobin AK-12. So the price/complicate argument is nonsense.
It is simple that the Zlobin AK-12 failed the State test, and was rejected.
While the new AK-12 was developed from the AK-103-3, a gun that predate Zlobin and his AK-12, the orginal gun for Ratnik.
